Ashlesha nakshatra, star ruled by Nagas, Divine serpents, is one of the most challenging and most misunderstood lunar mansions. It is also the most vulnerable and the most sensitive of all the stars, which can often make its energy overly introverted and overly protective. Dwelling at the very end of Cancer, it forms an intense gandanta point with Magha nakshatra, which is said to be located in our energy body right at the center of our third eye. Before we experience final freedom, release and detachment of Magha nakshatra. It is here, in Ashlesha, that all our inner attachments, poisons and layers of our ego, are getting intensely purified and finally need to be left behind. Like snake is leaving its old skin, so here we learn what are our own limitations that we need to let go of.

It's because our high sensitivity is draining, and we habitually act in a reserved way (avoid revealing feelings) in daily interaction to avoid hurt. We love deeply and are loyal to friends (we tend to expect the same from others, which sometimes disappoints us) I agree that we need to learn to take things less personally and be less attached. The life circumstances you mentioned are 100% true ! Even the sensing mechanism you described is correct, I usually sense others' vibrations and feelings through my body (chakras). Thank you for telling us about remedies for being overly sensitive too. Keep up the good work ❤️

Ashlesha sun and moon in the 12th house and I can definitely attest to the sensitivities this Nakshatra brings along with the house it’s in. I HAVE to spend most of my time alone because I am so easily drained. Even when it comes to hanging out with groups of people, it’s hard for me engage with everyone because it takes up so much of my energy (even though I love emotionally connecting with people)

This is one of the best explanations of Ashleesha I’ve seen so far. Thank you for explaining this. I’ve got Ashlesha rising with Ketu exactly conjunct it within one degree. So yes, this Nakshatra has been teaching me about the Ketu detachment my whole life, and at the same time, what I tend to teach others from how I approach life. Rarely have I ever had problems sleeping and when I do, I know it’s a matter of not respecting my boundaries and the need to detach from whatever is causing this problem. But I have Baharini sun with Rohini moon and UttaraBadhrapada venus. They exist within the 12-2 energy pattern, and so loss has been a fundamental lesson both being learned and teaching others of life. But you are absolutely correct in that it gives birth to a more healthy detachment, imo. And if a person comes in to a space that is too far for them to venture, by which they do not frequently have a right to venture onto another’s personal domain, Ashleesha does not typically throw up the flags of Magha and say “this is my boundary. You have overstepped yourself.” But rather Ashlesha respects the individual’s choice to try and suffocate another by then, in turn, responding with a force far greater in an ability to coil one’s self around in a suffocating manner. It is as though Ashlesha forces a mirror reaction in others of the effects of imaging one can ever fully merge or needs to merge with another as is often sold in western philosophical approaches to love. It is not love, and eventually, I would say the end goal of a lot of strong Ashleesha type individuals is to move toward a more Magha style of expression as the Gandanta point is purposefully approached from within with the Ashlesha person. Putting down the flag, seeing the invisible flags of others and both simultaneously recognizing one’s own poison and the poisons of others helps the Ashleesha person grow stronger in facilitating and being facilitated in the extraction process of all that is poisonous to life.

Ashlesha Asc I am a Yoga teacher by profession with flexible body and mind and sensitive but adaptable too.

I have Sun in ashlesha nakshstra, in "gandanta" of pada 4 and 00° of the Magha. It's actually at 00:45 degrees Magha but in gandanta, so, it's really important for me to learn about all of these points, and things. She's accurate and correct about everything!

I'm an Ashlesha ascendant having mercury and Venus conjunction in Ashlesha..I'm the worst type of introvert a person can be..I never go to functions of any relative or neighbour and the only one of my family who stays in home..It's really uncomfortable and uneasy for me to be surrounded by crowd.. I was born with sun in ashlesha and ketu in bharani LOL it is not easy but once you make these 2 work together, the ride of life is deeply amazing and fulfilling. The combo between a Tikshna and an Ugra Nakshatra makes you a tough cookie: fearful of god AND NOT afraid of this particular plane that we call "planet earth" and the things people do on it. I love nakshatras so much!
May i ask what you would recommend to a person who is finding this after seeing this coming forward in the spiritual journey and feeling it matches to their life experiences?

1. Don’t identify with your birth chart, it’s NOT you! It’s rather a set of experiences you might find in your life journey. Use the information as orientation but not determination.
2. In my personal experience, what transformed me was to make peace with my birth religion and understand the reasons my ancestors (on both my mom’s side and dad’s side) decided for me to belong to it.
Ashlesha deals with your dwelling and since it’s spiritual, then it’s your spiritual dwelling the thing that you must figure out first and anchor yourself on.
I’m not here to impose my belief on anyone, I just think it’s worth sharing my experience in light of the orientations that these nakshatras talk about. I embraced with devotion(Ashlesha) my birth religion Catholicism (ketu-ancestors-Bharani) and this alone deactivated the negative aspects of this energy to, I’d say, a 90%. Mind you I’m catholic so my commitment to the faith includes not consulting astrology. However, even if I don’t do that anymore, I have nothing but respect towards the Hindu tradition of Nakshatra wisdom for helping me, at that point, to find clarity in my journey. In order for me to attach (Ashlesha) myself to God only I had to undergo purification through detachment (Ketu in Bharani) from the bad habits of: pride and lack of faith, behaving in accordance to the fears of others and feeding incoherence in my life. The results are what I mentioned in my first comment, still going strong and true to this day.
3. It might not be religion for someone else’s case, but i think that the point to Ashlesha is to attach yourself to what is true and good only. To embrace only what is true and good, not for your ego and lower desires but what is true and good for your soul. Paradoxically, once you do that, detachment to the rest of noise and unnecessary things will come naturally (Ketu)

Very nicely presented. I am Capricorn born Asc and my Lagna Lord and Atma Karaka Saturn in Ashlesha. I like to stay aloof from crowd and superficial discussions. I am extremely sensitive to people aronud and their energies. Had good number of experiences in Kundalini Awakening and sushumna activation when I was 22 years.
I have rahu in 8th house ashlesa leo using tropical placement. Can't say anything phases me these days, I'm 43 now will be 44 December 10th this year. I have 8th House Rahu in Ashlesha ♋️ & the of it lord is in my 5th House w/ Moon/Mercury/Saturn ♈️ Bharani. Soon starting Rahu Mahadasha. I do get annoyed when I can’t have my own space & I hate how I feel when I don’t stretch for too long & I want to work on my flexibility. My sleeping pattern is all over the place usually. When I hold on I hold on tightlyyyyy until one day something forces it to click… then I quickly switch become cold towards it & drop it. I’ve had dreams come true before. Freedom is something I think about often pretty much exactly how you said it lol

The plight of me is am born aslesha nakshatra, born extremely poor and after striving hard still poor, beaten by everyone around, bullied by many around, couldn't protect myself in any confronting and conflicting situation, always suppressed, and even let down and let go by name people and relationship as well. Tired of life and being born in aslesha Nakshatra 4th pada. Have great abilities to write and heal, but very unfocused and direction less. I could sense death of closed people and see it.its very weird and not sure why, moon and ketu in 2nd house bhava chart. Very moody and introvert and extrovert at times.And very weak minded or weak at health. In feel I have downloaded all events which can affect me adversely. And always wanted amazing bond in relationship, never got as such. Moon in alsheha and lagna shtana too.. Am no ever accepted easy by anyone.neither I can accept the way I am.
