@@Sensei948 Stock the OE definitely has an edge in performance. Equally modded they’re very close in my experience. The OE seems to hold power a little higher in rpm but in the working world I doubt it would be very noticeable. When I modded my XT top end it ran neck and neck with my brothers modded 75cc XPW. Both versions are great saws imo
Great video, like you I love the old 2 series saws, I've had my 268 since I bought it new back in the late 80's, just acquired a 254xpg, and a 262xp..how many saws does a guy need.. Maybe another 2 I think.. 😉👍
Great video, you have a respectable collection of husvarna. Sadly, these old types are not sold in the US or in the EU. I found on the official website of husqvarna in Chile types like 272xp, 346xp, 357xp, 288xp still on sale.

That’s tough, those are both great saws. Between those 2 I would keep the 357 only because 262 parts are getting scarce. But if I had to keep just one out of this entire group it would be the 372. Good power for felling duty with up to 28” bar, but also not so heavy that it would wear me out if bucking firewood all day. 70cc class saws are the most versatile size saws across all brands imho.
@@xpslinger8171 Thanks for the answer! I hesitate between a 562 and a 572 for my next saw. But I was thinking that a 70cc was kind of overkill for 20 cords of hard wood and couple thousands feet of softwood a year. Guess I'll have to try before I buy, you changed my perspective. (Sorry for the bad english, its not my native language)
Sensei948 No sir, I run 40:1 oil ratio in my saws. The ridiculous oil cloud on most of these is because of the long idle time while setting up for the video. My 262 and 272 were also tuned too rich at the time.
Sensei948 My apologies, I thought you were asking what the compression was on my saw lol. 140psi is ok but the rings are worn. If you get down to 135psi I would put new rings in it. New rings should bring it up to about 150psi.

That was pretty cool. Ive always been more of a stihl fan, but recently picked up a 268xp and I'm super impressed.

Mine is a 268W model so it was factory installed. They are very hard to find, if I come across one I’ll post it here.
I took the 372xp wrap handle split it n cut piece off the end use that as ur spacer have to drill new whole for it but works just fine

372xp compresion 140 psi ?
Sensei948 Greetings. No sir, I deleted the base gasket, compression is at 175psi. Saw is still breaking in.
