I have not been all that excited yet about colors in soaps, but I noticed finding classic black & white soaps to be stunning. Thanks for the inspiration. And thanks also for mentioning your garden skills. I, too, have less than impressive gardening skills, but love making soap.
These are absolutely stunning! You're one of my favorite soapers to watch. Your videos are so relaxing and you style of soaping is so elegant and creative and inspiring. As for trees: ever since I was little I've loved apple trees. They are just so magical to me. I have a big soft spot for oaks and conifers, especially blue spruce and cedars. Horse chestnut and Pawpaw are really cool, too.
These are great! They do remind me of Birch trees and also Quakies (Quaking Aspens) of which we have a lot of here in the Colorado mtns. I think that is wonderful that you dedicate a tree for every Grandchild. 👍 Cheers 🤗🤗
I really cannot believe this. I was sitting here and just decided that i would stick "Hanger Swirl" into the search bar. I have not searched for this technique in the last nine months, only now, today. And BINGO! Your video has just popped up in front of me. Thanks so much for this super tutorial and insight.... right on cue! 😁❤
Hi! Oh those swirls! I love the top….. I can’t put it into words but the charcoal swirls look lovely! Birch scent…. This is another fragrance I wish I had smell-o-vision!
Wow...amazing soap. I really love this soap. You do amazing soaps, but this one is special. I wish I could smell it. Awesome videos, so much appreciated . I look forward to each one.
Wow!!!! Those are all very cool and the black and white is awesome, you really outdone this batch for sure 👍 😀!!!! I might even get that scent too lol!
Oh my goodness...I bet it smells as good as it looks. Awesome! Growing up in Palm Bay Florida we had a natural spring by the house and we had a row of paper bark river birch trees. The bark was beige to golden in color. I would spend hours just playing with that bark...lol... God bless
Such a beautiful soap as always. I’m not sure what kind of tree I like. I never thought about it. I know I’m not fond of pine trees. They make me nauseous and sneeze.
You are an absolute pleasure to watch! Everything you make is done so elegantly. You have such a calming voice that is as beautiful as you. Thank you for sharing your creations with all of us. I learn so much from you and other soap makers. I look forward to every single video! 😉
Oh my word the soap is absolutely beautiful, love the swirls in the soap, can see butterfly and cats face's when you put the soap together.my favourite trees are Oaks,Maple, Magnolia and Lilac 🎄. Thank you for sharing xx
Oh my word, the soap is absolutely stunning! The birch trees that do good in TN are the Yellow, Paper and River Birch. I love birch trees but for Florida the best one is the River birch.
An Oak or a Magnolia are great trees. Those are two of my favorites. Love the colors. Very classic that never goes out of style. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations, Grandmommy. I have a passion for sweet olive (fragrant tea olive) trees. They're evergreen -- sort of like holly -- and they have tiny white flowers that smell like lemon and vanilla. The scent is so powerful, you can smell the trees before you see them. I don't know if they grow near Nashville, but you should check them out.
I am in love with the fragrance. Never used before but I think is going to be a keeper for me. Hopefully my clients love it as much as I do. Your swirls are out of this world Ellen, so beautiful 🤩
So beautiful, I've been meaning to make a soap in this vein a la marble / granite, but I love love the birch tree inspiration, very unique! I grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin and I always loved when we had our history projects and we got to build dioramas of Ojibwe and Winnebago wigwams out of birch bark that we collected ourselves, it gave me a huge appreciation for the local area and culture that I still love and ardently support to this day!
Gorgeous!! 😍 I made a soap this spring that was called Cracklin Birch by Natures Garden, smells wonderful:) My all time favorite tree is the Weeping Willow especially when they are the big old “wise” ones.
Beautiful! I love all trees, but I have a soft spot for Oaks and Sugar Maples, which turn bright orange, and red in the fall (fall being my favorite season).
@@EllenRuthSoap the maples are beautiful in the fall when their leaves turn from red to yellow. I would love to see a soap in those colors with some kind of fall scent.
I loved my willow tree so much - we planted it over a leak in the sprinkler system and it grew HUGE and beautiful. It always made me feel happy to look at. Until Hurricane Sally sadly took it and all the rest of our trees out :(
Gorgeous swirls in this soap! Love it! Found some help on basics from a channel called Elly's ... Anyway thank you so much for taking time to answer my rooky questions. The soap I made that cracked unmolded fine, very creamy & full of goodness! This soap you made here is inspiring for the contrast design! Going to break in new slab mold about the size of copy paper. Hope that helps the cracking issue?
I have a White Birch tree in my yard up here in CT. Do you have Mimosa Trees in the South? It has a hot pink fluffy flower. Smells really good. I love all your creations so much. :))
Nice soap! You prepared the lye a day ahead ? What temperature was it when you poured it? Trying to learn new ways to simplify…favorite tree is Yellowwood tree.
This is one of my favourite bars you've made! I love watching your videos and I always wonder how many bars of soap do you make in a year? I want to order some to Canada!
They are beautiful. I luv black n white soaps. I don’t use TD I use Snow White from mad micas and my white is like milk white. I can’t garden either. Plants hate me. I killed Bob who was my chia pet. As an adult my mom got it for me as a joke thinking I can’t kill it and I did. I killed my Cactus Spike( I named him Spike. So I no longer trying and all my herbs I get dried lol.
I plant trees each year for my daughter that passes. I love cherry trees and willows
The colors automatically make the soap look like sculptural pieces of art. They are beautiful.
Thank you🖤🤍

Here's to us "non-gardeners" that love soap❣️
Grandbabies are the best!! Congratulations. Our second grandchild was just born and planting a tree is a beautiful tribute. All the best.
CONGRATULATIONS on your new grandchildren! 👶🏻👶🏻
Thank you!!
Ellen I ❤ white birch trees too! We had some growing in our yard when I was a girl. I still love them they are sooooo pretty! 💞 Love your soaps! 🥰

I love a good elm tree. But I don’t garden at all. I can barely make soap lol. Thank you for sharing this video and your story ❤️.

My husband loves river birch❣️ The bark is so fun to play with, you can write on it with a stick 🖤🤍

watching you open the soap was so therapeutic! I saw so many images, it was beautiful, hypnotizing and relaxing.
Glad you enjoyed it!🖤🤍
Just Nailed it! Love the pattern 💖
I love Flame Thrower palms, just planted a couple today.
These are beautiful Ellen.
Oh wow. These are stunning! Good call on not steaming the tops this time. Ive certainly never met a glossy birch. Lol!
Thanks so much! 😊🖤🤍

Absolutely ❤️ tree planting. My Dad did that for my three the first of their 13!
This is simply gorgeous. Wow.
You should take the magnolia flower petals and dry them and put them on a soap.
Oh my word, the soap is absolutely stunning! The birch trees that do good in TN are the Yellow, Paper and River Birch. I love birch trees but for Florida the best one is the River birch.
I'm going to look into the river birch and see if it's hardy enough to withstand my poor gardening skills🤣🖤
@@EllenRuthSoap Im sure you will do great!

We do have Mimosa trees here, and I love them! We're thinking about one of those for our next grandbaby❣️
@@EllenRuthSoap That would be really special. Congrats on your grandbabies. Such a blessing
Nice soap! You prepared the lye a day ahead ? What temperature was it when you poured it? Trying to learn new ways to simplify…favorite tree is Yellowwood tree.
My studio is around 70, so that's about what the lye is at.
This is one of my favourite bars you've made! I love watching your videos and I always wonder how many bars of soap do you make in a year? I want to order some to Canada!
Thanks so much for watching! I've actually never tallied up my yearly total.... That would be an interesting number🖤🤍
Yaay l’m here🤩 early bird🤭..next week l will be making soap l am so nervous
That’s awesome, have fun making ❣️
What were the smaller sections at the end for?
Where would one order a soap stamp from?
Your soaps are beautiful ✨️💜💫
Those end pieces become free samples that go in all my orders❣️ there’s a link for my soap stamp in the description box
@Ellen Ruth Soap sorry, found the stamp link 💜
Love your videos so inspiring. Can you tell me what the (hanger) is? That you swirl the soap with please.
Thanks 💕. It’s a flexible gear tie, there’s a link in my Amazon store in the description box 😉
What immersion blender are you using? I'm looking for a new one. I love watching your videos!
There's a link in my Amazon store
@@EllenRuthSoap Thanks! Darn it's currently unavailable on Amazon.
I love birch trees too! I went to the fragrance site and this has a Vanillin of 24. Do you use anything to counteract that?
it's .24%, which is a very small amount 😉
Can I paint on the soap from the outside without losing color and remaining stable
I'm not really sure what you're asking?
How many sodium lactate did you use may I ask
1 tsp per lb of oils
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you so kindly
For some reason my soaps are not holding their scent. How can I fix this?
Some folks have a good outcome when they premix the fragrance with some kaolin clay
@@EllenRuthSoap thank you. I've tried that
I made the soap but the fragrant smells like comet when it gets wet when you use it
🤣
