I'd say here in Minnesota, a LOT of those clicks still exist and my eldest daughter went to school in So Cal. She's half Asian but was misidentified by others who assumed she was Mexican. She went to sit with her new friends from P.E who are black and was told by a Mexican chick that she SHOULDN'T sit with them and belonged to the Mexican table. She informed the chick she's not Mexican but Asian. The Mexican chick told her to go sit with the other Asians who were largely foreign exchange and/or foreign born. Plus they are different types of Asians than she so like wtaf?!! My daughter sat with her friends and gained several adversaries for doing so.
