6:06 the outfit? That's what mariachi usually wear whenever they perform. Is part of a Mexican tradition. However is also an uniform. Oh and the shoe? Is call a chancla which could be seen as the equivalent of hitting you with a belt.
Out of the songs in this movie, my favorite is "Un Poco Loco", which translates to "a little crazy". Also, speaking as a Mexican-American, this movie is pretty factual to real-life preparations/mythos for El Dia De Los Muertos, or the Day Of The Dead. Especially with Dante's role. As a breed of dog called a Xoloitzquintli (zo-low-eats-queent-lee), he has a role of being a spirit guide through the afterlife.
@@sl_1k It gets better, my dude. 1. Also, Mama Imelda sang a song about La Llorona, the ghost of a woman who drowned her children in a jealous rage after she discovered that her husband was being unfaithful to her. 2. Being raised in a Mexican-American household, a sandal AKA a chancla is a discipline tool. The chancla comes out, usually we shut up and behave immediately....if we're smart. So is a spatula, belt or flyswatter.
"How can this dog see this?" It's been said that both animals AND babies/small children are able to sense the supernatural a lot easier than older humans can
@@sl_1k You're welcome Also, because the denizens of the Land of the Dead aren't human anymore; "normal physics" no longer apply to them. This means their bodies (thanks to the animators) can behave and function in ways they couldn't when they were alive
5:53 Oh also the napkins are not napkins, it is called “papel picado” it is used to bring color to the altars and the streets on the day of the dead.🙌🏼
At the end when they show Hector crossing the bridge he has on better clothes and now he actually has his own pair of shoes, a big contrast from the beginning. Also, more on De la Cruz. He cannot 'die' the same way we do here, and he can't be forgotten yet because his legacy still lives in the living world so most likely he's just going to stay trapped under that bell until someone lets him free, and even if he's let free, he is most definitely going straight to jail. Eventually he would probably be forgotten though.
54:44 exactly! The way that mexicans live life and they enjoy living so much is because they are very aware of the death, and they see it as another way to reconect with those who are not here anymore. In other cultures people treats death as something taboo, but I really love how mexicans approach death
lol I’ve never loved someone’s movie reaction before 😂😂 I’m officially keeping up with this channel for sure… I’ve also never met anyone who’s been so clueless on Día de los Muertos. I feel like my classes have been more helpful in informing people of these events though.

@@sl_1kI’m so glad that a movie like this came out. If you want more movies like this, you should watch the movie Soul. 👍
Coco is very emotional. I've always wanted to see my family members at the land of the dead. Remember Me is my favorite song. The voice actress of Mama Coco passed away last month 🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢😭😭😭
Thank you for reviewing this movie tho, I wish they made more movies like this! Would be awesome to see you watch Latin movies 😂 definitely subscribing!
I’m glad you mentioned that you gotta see things from Imelda’s perspective she was mad that he left initially and she had to raise their child not that he died. Then she went the rest of her life not knowing what happened to him.
I love the nicknames they give eachother LMAO reminds me of my family. We got Gordo, Chaparrita, salchicha, Quico, Nacho, Pelón, Flaca, I need more nicknames to give my family members 😭

Please sort out the editing issues. I've watched the movies you're reacting to and I still don't know what's going on because it's so choppy.
“ what are they saying? I am black” for some reason was the funniest thing I had to pause and rewatch that part. Had me dying laughing for ten minutes

It was honestly so stupid 😂 so was the napkin comment. Dude just seems uneducated. I haven’t gotten much into it yet tho. Hopefully it gets better.
