How to Paint Brembo Brake Calipers

- This is my first attempt at painting my brake calipers. The fifth Gen SS came factory with Brembo Calipers and I decided to give it more of a pop with the upcoming color scheme. Hope you enjoy the video!

Nice to see you working on the car yourself. It really is part of the fun of the car hobby. So many people just take it to a shop and have them install parts. A better way to do the calipers would be to remove them wash with break cleaner and use a primer then paint. Just my two cents.

Calipers came out good!!! That was one of the first things I did to mine!! ... I’ve been thinking about doing the ctsv upgrade since I’ve been pushing more power than stock now .

if you are still having rust issues on the rotor, could you tape everything off and use a rust encapsulator to stop if from rusting more?

That came out pretty good, I'm debating on painting or powder coating the Bermbo's on my Cobra at this point.
You can always keep the caliper on the rotor to make it easier. Just prep it well and you can't mess much up!
@@KaylaRundle Problem is that I have to remove the calipers anyway because who ever put them on did so on the wrong side so since they are coming off I figured I could just powder coat them red anyway. But I'll see when the time comes.
@@Lethal_Venom be careful, is their a rubber boot for the piston ? Because when you power coate it goes in an oven at 400 degrees , it will melt the rubber boot

Yeah 800$ is redicilous. Btw, did you use a clearcoat or something? And how long do these usually last?
Collor is Ford green vht.since she wasnt willing to share the color i did for u!
Put clear coat on them affter paint and they will stay shiny and clean a lot longer
I did! Just forgot to film the cleaning and clearing part of the process. It helps keep the vinyl on too. I appreciate the help!

Why didn't you take off the hole caliper and do it the right way?? What paint is that ? VHT High heat temp ??
To avoid having to bleed the brakes obviously. Other than spraying the crossover lines black then masking them she did a damn good job

Wear gloves 🧤 I ruined my hands by doing exactly what you are doing. I use chemicals and they will burn and dry them outThey will split and bleed 🩸 Be careful.Love the video

Get some decent gloves for that dirty work Kayla...I don't mind dirt and grease.....and eveyone loves a girl willing to get dirty, but that can be some nasty stuff.

I don't understand doing a how to video and not doing it the right way. Should have taken the calipers off. And anytime painting with toxic fumes use a combo of a mask/ respirator / proper ventilation.
