Find inspiration in your videos. I'm also working on a '56 and focusing on getting it ready to drive instead of replacing floor panels, etc. Can't wait to get the 283 installed with a M21 4 speed. Keep up the good work! Bill Regina Saskatchewan Canada
whats very nice about that style bell is the clutch or throw out can be fixed on the side of the road or in a parking lot a nice fixable option the clutch will come rite out the bottom leaving the clutch disc being able to go on loose to line the tranny shaft up with simply tighten the pressure plate after the tranny is put in
Richard the bellhousing is correct for a 56 car. You could try putting a small regulator on your blaster and run it a 80 psi. Your compressor will keep up better and I believe you will be happy with the results.
Doin my 56 2 dr wagon , about to do full floor then build 350 30 over , with 3 spd auto turbo 350 , rite behind ya , you did the back suspension, I did the front first , ful upper lower control arm bushings ball joints ( factory arms not tube supposed to ride better with stock arms , ) also 1.5 inch lower springs stock spindles full disc brake upgrade , had manual duel master cylinder, but changed to full power brake booster and upgraded master cylinder) but after floor motor trans body work and paint shooting for summer Harbour Freight Saturdays , Walmart Friday nites lol
If you were in PA, I'd help you move! I've got the time and a 49 Chevy truck! Ok, I'd only give you my time! 😄 I don't envy you, moving sucks, but thanks for another great video, the 56 is shaping up!
Glad to see your back on the 56.I like your idea not to replace the floor pan just now,and to get the car rolling and driving. Keep it going,I am enjoying your videos.Your daughter is very cute.
if you use the half floorpans from carsinc you can get decent american made steel ones the rust at a much slower rate the pans can be changed with the body on nice option
I've looked into the half floorpans before but it looked like they don't come with the bracing. My bracing needs to be replaced. I will look at the half floorpans again though.
Yes it makes since to get the Chevy running if you or going to move. Sounds like you have a lot to do. Nice video and good to your daughter hello you out
Please tell me you are not leaving Texas, eh. I’m writing Supply razor company to see if they will sponsor your show. The only guy on the TH-cam that can save a 56 Chevy while shaving 3 times a day!. Take care you are the best. P.S. Great clean up after the Nash Ramblings :)😊.
Someone replaced your clutch fork pin with a round head Philllips head screw. It is just a standard clevis pin with a hole in the bottom and if you have a hardeare store in your area (most are gone now in favor of what looks like a department store) they should have an assortment.
@@freemansgarage I think the catalogues from Cars, Inc are free. Lots of pictures but the index has a number of pages incorrect. As I find them, I correct the list for future use. They press their own steel and tell you if they make it or if imported. They us proper gauge as the factory used. Every year at Spring and Fall Carlisle, they have their 2 piece full floors on display. They are a thing of beauty. Unpainted which I kinda like. What is the quality of that black coating on imported steel?
That's good to know. I didn't spend anytime inspecting it. Soon I'll be going through every little thing on that firewall. Then I'll know it all like the back of my hand. Thanks for commenting & watching. I appreciate that.
After the military I followed my kid from California to Texas. No I don’t know Mortske but I am aware of him. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we have a mutual acquaintance. The farm I bought the ‘56 from was in his backyard.

That's a neat thing to point out. Also if a guy swaps to a Muncie later it would be a snap.

Great idea. I’ll have to do that.

That’s awesome. Sounds like a great combo of parts. A wagon would be cool. I hope you’re able to start enjoying the car as soon as possible.
Can’t wait to see this one on the road. My favorite car model and year. I will be watching. You are the best. Good luck.
Thanks I appreciate that. Im excited about this one.

I appreciate that. Nothing like a 49 Chevy rolling down the highway with the bed full of junk. The worst part will be moving cars.

I guess your daughter looks like her mum then. 😊 nice to meet her at last. Good job done on your daughter, Richard.

I really don't have a choice at the moment. Thanks for the nice comment. I have a great kid.
You should paint the inside of the bell housing with glyptal,,
I should. If I had a can on hand I definitely would.
I would hit it with angle grid with a wire wheel first and use the blaster for the hard spots.
That’s a good point.
It is such a hard choice between getting it running or clean and paint as you go.
Well at least I struggle with it.
It’s a vicious cycle.
Yeah, don't worry about floors. We want to see you driving.
Me too.

It looks like the Texas chapter is coming to a close. Thanks. I wouldn’t mind a razor sponsor. The floor is dry but not the same.
Let see the Rambler on the road first. We have been waiting for that and you switch up
I’m working on it.
they will work no difurans

That's called a commercial blast. Good enough for paint
That’s funny.

Fred Flinstone didn’t need floors. Get it running and driving.
Good point.
Hi Richard are you moving back home ?? hmm it's a hot day up here 33f
I wish. It's almost backyard cookout temps up there!
What made you move to Texas? You know Mortskey?

You have to make time for repairs
