I find it refreshing taking breaks from photography sometimes. However within the time off, still putting the eye to practice on everyday activities. I feel like it a nice way to spark excitement to pick up n feel the camera for a day of shooting. It’s been cold out here in NY so I gotta be in layers of stiff jackets to keep myself warm and actually shoot with gloves on 🥲. But take care bro, and I love the content as always. Hope you have a good New Years with your fam/loved ones 🙏🏽

Hey Vuhlandes, thanks for your great video! I just wanted to give you a Tip for that flash you were using since I’m using that exact same setup! There’s a screw on the mounting bracket for the camera rail that you can detach to turn the mounting bracket to the other side so that you can hold the flash with your left hand and fire the cameras trigger with your right hand. Thought that might come in handy when considering if a Metz flash is right for you. Me personally I like the fact that the Metz flash is quite powerful for its price but on the other hand it’s adding a lot of weight and bulky Ess to the otherwise very slick and compact M6. I initially bought the Metz flash to use it with my Hasselblad 500 C/M and for that camera it seems ideal. I’m now thinking about buying a Godoz V1 for the Leica since I think it fits the size and weight better but I’m still not sure. I’d be very interested in your process of working with a flash and whether you’re choosing a Metz flash or another one
Really enjoyed the M6 flash video. If your Metz flash bracket is the same as mine you can actually reverse it to allow you to use the flash on the other side of the camera. Wow what great pics and what a cool project. 'Hit the shit out of the like button' is gold. I am experimenting with flash a little lately on the Lumix G2. Quite nice to try to mix the available light with just the amount of flash needed. Not that difficult with TTL flashing on the dedicated Metz.

I've had the same flashgun back in the day and I've modified it to stand on the left side. That way I could hold it with the right hand and focus with the left, than hold it it with the same hand and freely shoot with the right hand. That way it was way easier for me to handle the camera with that enormous thing on the side. And mind you at that time I've shoot Nikon FM2 which is (aside of being a SLR) quite similar camera in operation to the Leica M6...

There should be a way to set up the Metz flash to the left of the camera instead of the right, since you mentioned it was awkward. I have mine set to the left of my camera but not sure if it's just your preference. Great vid bro

Time for some Leica love. Not everything has to be on medium format. Too many film shooters dragging around their Mamiya 7s and RZs. Go light! Always keeping it real Vuh, love it.
That happened to me as well sometimes I shoot with my FujiFilm XE1 too much and I forget about my other Canon cameras like the Canon 100D and the Canon 1000D so it’s always good to change the mood by carrying the other gear to have a different vibe
Living in canada, i can relate to not being on a rush to shoot because it s so DAMN cold... But, ill admit that for me, winter = bw. Since i am all over the place with my photos, i can be more constent in what i shot.
I'm trying to get better about not running around with multiple cameras. That joint can get heavy and I find that I always end up only shooting one. lol smh Also I'm feeling that text transition when you walk past! It was super dope! You keep leveling up family and I love to see it! Always inspiring! I love the images and I can't wait to see what you produce with your book! I need that on day one of the drop when it completed! 🙏🏾💚
Call around to the local high schools or community colleges and ask the teachers if there is a film student that could really use it. That said, the cost of film and developing could be a stress on the back end.... Maybe donate it to a local school then, if they can support development for the students.

Why do you taken photos of derelict buildings etc? in Australia we dont have old buildings like that. We knock them down. I wouldn't walk in that neighbourhood for anything.

Hey ! I don't know if somebody told you but you can unscrew the metal thing that holding the flash so you can take it with your right hand :)

I have the same flash and I find holding it with my left hand easier. You can switch sides on the bracket thing.

When shooting with the flash, did you have to sync the shutter at a given speed or did you set it based on the metered exposure?
