Brilliant video! What I loved most about it is what you said about owning a Leica M6 regardless of the version. It doesn't make you a better photographer or make you cool, in my opinion, because you own a Leica. Personally, I'd take the Voigtlander BESSA R2/3/4M or A over the Leica M6 or M7 for that matter. I prefer the SLR style of loading film versus the bottom plate removal version Leica has on the M's. However, I do think the Leica M4-P is a special camera that people sleep on. Ultimately, it's less about the camera body and more about the lenses. A fair share of Leica lenses are superior to most on the market but they come at a significant cost. A great secondary option is lenses from Voigtlander. Just as good for the average photographer and significantly cheaper when it comes to cost not build quality.

When Contax T2's are and other 'influencer' point and shoots are selling for nearly $1000 it becomes a lot more difficult to say that spending $2000 on an M6 and a lens is "expensive" IMO. Besides if you want a Leica you can buy a IIIf and probably 2-3 lenses for less than you would pay for a Yashica T4

First of all, it is a luxury item to own - I always talk about my new cameras as "my new toy", but the M6 was "my new jewellery". Secondly, a lot of people think you buy a leica because "it takes better pictures", which it doesn't - it is mainly less details to get distracted by when you take pictures. A silent, mechanically flawless piece of jewellery that doesn't drag you out of the moments you want to capture. ...definitely not something you buy unless you really want it, though. Don't believe the hype.
My own photos with the M4 are probably among the worst I take, since there is a lot that can go wrong and it is still a bit heavy and big to bring everywhere. My best photos are actually with the little Leica X1.
Perfect intro with selfies: many people with leicas flaunt/wear them as jewelry and a status symbol, posers with the mystique of Henri Cartier-Bresson. Don't get me started on kendall jenner [Kardashian] and the contax g2

Hey George, have you ever owned any of Nikon's Nikomat//Nikormat series? I'm not 100% sure how you feel about SLRs but I think you might get a kick out of them! They're dirt cheap too, which is a great plus to the mechanical soundness of them!
Serious question, I'm not a Leicaphile by any stretch, I own a Minilux and a C3 and kind of looking at the 1st digital SL and wondering why did they drop in price so much? I feel like an M9 and M240 are still holding their value but I've seen the SL go as low as $1600. Is the digital Leica SL not that sought after?
I think the SL is a workhorse, with a new model the older drops in price. Whereas the Ms always have a special appeal even the older models, sometimes the older models go up in price... They are emotional purchases and so sometimes emotions of collectors interfere with the prices I think...
I think the LHSA M6s have that classic rewind. But wouldn't be any problem to exchange it on yours. Just get a tool on eBay and call Leica to buy a spare brass MP or M-A rewind. Easy.

Hi, just ordered loads of film from amazon Kodak Portra 400 35m 36exp Film Professional 5 Pack £55.99 Amazon. Quite expensive. Should I store the unused film in the fridge ? Ideal temp ?
Freezer, colder the better. In a freezer bag so when you remove it the condensation forms on the outside of the bag rather than the outside of the film canisters.
@@gurugamer8632 Yes, but the air tight bags I mentioned are essential to stop condensation forming. Don't open the bag with the film in until it warms up to room temperature.
