When this album came out, I had just hit my teens. I had loved Busted as a kid (Charlie Simposon's prior band, which was more pop/pop-punk), and then got more into heavier rock as I was getting older. This album was one of the things that made me want to play music. What an incredible debut album this was. The Call-and-Response style vocals between Charlie Simpson and Alex Westaway really are fantastic. Omar's drumming is also always so perfect. The fills are great, but he is also always so perfectly in the pocket (while still doing interesting stuff) during every song section. Fightstar (as well as Deftones) were influenced by Funeral For A Friend (another Welsh band from the same area as Bullet For My Valentine) and InMe. Both bands that would be worth reacting to, too.
Behind the devils back is a masterpiece imo. Nothing too original but I’ll be damned if there’s a skippable track on there. Anything Charlie does is great, Gunship is great too
Fantastic album from a fantastic band and frontman. The band have a love of anime especially the Neon Genesis Evangellion anime which was the main inspiration behind this album. The track lost likevtesrs in rain is basically about the protagonist from that anime and a lot of lyrics were lifted straight from the series, most noteable in the song paint your target the entire chorus lyric is a line from an ep of NGE " you can burn it all and rally around the table, if you want to just to argue out the last scenes of us,".
PLEASE react to InMe. They have toured with Fightstar before and their frontman has toured as a solo act with Charlie Simpson (fightstar frontman). Please react to Overgrown Eden which is their first album! :)
Overgrown Eden is a great album, but for me Daydream Anonymous is one of the greatest albums I have ever heard. Catchy banger after catchy banger. Either way, I agree that an InMe reaction would be great!
@@georgepiper647 Myths & Photographs is such a great song that 2 songs I wrote were HEAVILY inspired by parts of it. The Pre-choruses in Box The Sky's West Side, and the verses in What Happens Next in my solo work are both massively inspired by Daydream Anonymous, especially Myths & Photographs.
For their first full length studio release it's a superb effort.

This honestly .. I've never loved an album more than this one
God, I wore this album out back when it dropped. We miss you, Fightstar!
