Fun fact, the lead singer Charlie Simpson was originally a member of a cheesy pop-punk/boyband group called Busted and when they split, Charlie (who was the main songwriter) continued by forming Fightstar and doing the music that he really wanted to do...
Song came out in 2005 and was released the same month the very publicised breakup of Charlie Simpson's (the lead vocalist) pop punk band Busted happened. It was a shock to a lot of people due to how different it sounded. The song is named after Chuck Palahniuk. They're big movie guys, with a lot of songs inspired by movies and shows. The back of the EP this song came out on had a drawing of Edward Norton on it so I'd say it's definitely inspired by Fight Club.
What a journey you can go on now with this band. One of my favourites of all time, try grand unification part 1, deathcar, behind the devil's back, sink with the snakes or paint your target.
Oh man this is nostalgic. They also have heavier songs like Animal, Deathcar.
