Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid 1.5 GLX: The All-In-One MPV | CarGuide.PH

Suzuki Auto Philippines launches the country’s first hybrid MPV in the form of the 2023 Ertiga Hybrid. Thanks to its ingenious Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki or SHVS system, it offers added performance and fuel economy wrapped around the same familiar Ertiga package.
And yes, according to the carmaker, it also qualifies for benefits under EVIDA. This means up to 15 percent lower registration costs, priority registration upon renewal, and exemption from the number coding scheme.

Like any other hybrid, the maintenance would be the same as its internal combustion engine counterpart. Yes, it does have an ISG in place of the alternator and a small 12-volt lithium-ion battery, but these should be reliable. I can ask on replacement cost though if you're curious.

Yes. It works two ways. The ISG helps offer extra torque off the line. Also, because the electricals aren't being fed through the internal combustion engine, it reduces the workload of the K15B.

It will switch off to the lowest setting but it won't turn off (at least during the time that we had it).

Yup...hence why some car manufacturers are scrambling to have the EVIDA law implemented to remove mild hybrids from the exemptions hahaha. Still, from what we hear, it's still all good for mild hybrids.

Unofficial? It's about P120K. But I don't know if they just threw a general figure or that's the real cost. I'll try to find out.

It will only recover power during deceleration, if that's what you're asking.
If you're talking about being at stoplights, in our experience, it will not engage when the vehicle is placed in P (Park). It will engage, however, in neutral. It's best though to keep the car in D (Drive) when reaching stoplights though.

@@carguideph wow that look tiring on a grid lock.. they should atleast allow it to use EV on a full stop w/o steping the brake. How about Nuetral with ebrake then a lightly press brake(pedal) will the EV work?

@@alfcastelo consider it a safety feature. The car thinks you're about to move when you let go of the brake pedal. Any similar system (Suzuki, Toyota, even Mazda) will require you to step on the brake pedal. It typically disengages when you engage the parking brake (e-brake). If the car had auto hold, it will activate when you have the auto hold switched on. The Ertiga Hybrid though doesn't have an auto hold feature.
