    Thanks for the detailed review Sir Vince. I agree with you on the shortcomings of this car. The hybrid is the mildest of mild hybrids. The 12v system is only good to bridge the gap between city and highway fuel economy. The 48v used in India keeps the AC on for instance. On that note, the differences between the non hybrid fuel economy and this arent epic. If I had the previous GLX black edition i wouldnt feel compelled to upgrade based on the fuel economy. I agree that some of Suzuki Philippines product planning makes no sense. I think it started from the Ciaz "model change" which amounted to a GL version that was stripped out with the new grill and a slightly newer head unit. Then came the Vitara AllGrip which was overly expensive not only due to the sourcing from Hungary(which could not be helped, but also because they slapped alot of pricey accessories to it(Suzuki spoilers aint cheap), I can only hope they are doing something sensible with the Grand Vitara since they are taking so long to unveil it.
    Back to the Ertiga, alot of the interior complains can be sorted aftermarket. Basic rearview mirror, you can get a E Mirror for instance. The cargo space though, the measurement is wrong for the total length. If you go by the xl7 brochure and what i measured you get around 71" in length.

      I am actually not happy with the faux hybrid, because it increased the price of Ertiga. There's no real upgrade from the old model just the sticker and lithium batteries. And they should've made the starter motor bigger to really sell it as a hybrid.

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@smolyponks as i said, if you had the previous Black Edition you wouldnt be getting much over cruise and stability control. Be thankful they didnt go full hybrid and put in the Motor Generator Unit, you would probably lost the underfloor storage in the back or worse due to the bigger batteries.

      @mindfreeze0838 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@inzane456 i feel you, they will probably say its too expensive and drop it. I think the most you can hope for is the hybrid XL7 but even then, its like Suzuki Philippines just strives for the lowest common denominator when it comes to product selection or they do something unnecessarily flashy like the Vitara AllGrip Select that was plastered with accessories that drove the price up more than it needed to be.

    • @inzane456
      @inzane456 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mindfreeze0838 Agreed, as evidenced by how they're slowly replacing the Swift with the Celerio of all things. Introducing the Swift Hybrid into the market right now would be a strong contender, but....yeah the S-Presso AGS is a better entry apparently.

    The BR-V S turns out to be the better option than this due to the pretty basic but vital features that the Ertiga, for a TOTL variant, lacks and for what basically is priced the same.
    Hell, the Xpander GLX AT has more to offer for a lesser price. Sure it has a smaller infotainment screen and lacks a push-start button, but the 14 cup and bottleholders inside and a center console box up front does give you way more versatility.
    But yeah in terms of comfort, the Suzuki definitely doesn't need to look sophisticated or what to tell people it's comfy and pleasant to ride in. Totally agree with all the points Vince has presented, and I also love the real-world testing of the fuel consumption which now debunks most statements saying the Ertiga Hybrid can now easily reach Mirage and S-presso-like figures. Still pretty thrifty especially in city consumption figures but not far off from what its other subcompact MPVs can achieve.
    One hell of a precise review once again Ai 👏🏼

    • @MiggyMndza
      @MiggyMndza 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@christianlouiepitogo7035 tough question.
      BR-V S and Ertiga GLX, I'd say Honda. Ertiga could've been better given the presence of cruise control and telescopic steering but the basic things that the Suzuki lacks is kinda bummer.
      But vs. the Xpander GLX? Would probably be a tie technically. The BR-V S lacks cruise control and telescopic steering, but has Honda's Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) and has more HP and torque, on paper. The Xpander may lack Mitsubishi Active Stability Control(M-ASC) for the GLX but given never have I ever had any scenario where I needed it in our two 90's SUVs even when driving to their limits(since I know the limits) and that it has cruise control and telescopic steering as standard which for me is a need plus the higher ground clearance, I personally would go Xpander esp that it is cheaper than the BR-V S.
      Tho if I were to go Mitsubishi, I'd just go straight to the GLS for a few more bucks than the BR-V S and have loads of features even when compared to the BR-V V despite having a cheaper price.
      If I ever want a BR-V, I'd only go for the S variant. Not worth spending for the V and the VX is just too steep just for telescopic steering, tho Honda Sensing is present.

      @@schjasonphrenic249 in japan. Suzuki won't last in SEA if that's how they'll continue selling. They ranked 5th in our market and selling mostly ertiga and s presso. The 7 seater mpv segment competition is loaded with chinese cars with very good features. With being ertiga as their only main product selling, they're not gonna survive the competition. It's reflective as well on their car line ups where they're cutting almost all corners in all segments and just focusing on the ertiga shows they're struggling. They can't even bring the 48v hybrid and only opted for the 12v.

      @@schjasonphrenic249 ranking 5th holds no value if suzuki's sales growth is only 2%. Imagine suzuki selling 19k vehicles from 2021 and still only selling about 19k vehicles in 2022.
      For comparison, toyota sold 130k units in 2021 and sold 180k units in 2022. That's 35% sales growth. Lastly, take geely since you mentioned it. They sold 6k units in 2021 and sold 9k units in 2022. Thats a ridiculous 50% increase in sales. In relative terms, 5-6 filipinos bought a geely, 3-4 bought a toyota, and 1-2 bought a suzuki.
      Simply put, yes they ranked 5th in overall sales. But for how long. They've discontinued the vitara and admitted that it was too expensive and cannot compete with the market. Manual variants have been dropped for some models. The apv is outdated. The jimny is not practical. And the suzuki carry won't certainly save them if thats their only sales. More chinese cars will saturate the mpv segment that majority of their sales rely on. Maybe me saying they're leaving the market is a bit extreme and too soon. But sadly, there's no other way to put it unless they pull a miracle saving vehicle in their line up.
