Hi Kelvin, can you advise me how do I find out the ISIN number of the T-bills? I click on the bond but it only shows a graph. Sorry for the possibly dumb question I am a beginner.
Hi Kelvin, I follow your search and I noticed at the very top of the search there's a T-bill with STRIPS. What is the difference between STRIPS and the normal T-bill? Which one do you recommend picking? Thanks
Kelvin Thank you for the video; it was beneficial. Since I reside in the eurozone, I would like to purchase T-bills and insure against foreign exchange risk. What would be the most effective way to accomplish this? Could it be done through Interactive Brokers.😀
Thanks for informative video Kelvin. Is it possible to buy auction t-bills and notes in Singapore using IBKR or only secondary market trades are supported?
Interactive Brokers does not support buying US Treasuries at auction. Charles Schwab do support buying them at auction. Or better still use Treasury Direct.
Hi Kelvin, thanks for the insight video of T-Bills. Can I check will the T-Bill auto sell upon 6months? (or whatever the maturity time frame you set) or do you need to manually sell it?
Can you do a new video on which platform is easiest to use to buy crypto? Having trouble finding an exchange that is easy to deposit in cash and transfer out BTC after all the nonsense with FTX and swiftbank.
I tried few times doing the exact same steps in this video, but the order didn't go through, my portfolio doesn't show any bonds, only cash. Do you know what the reasons are for the order not being fulfilled? Thank you.
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting totally makes sense. I was struggling to choose which maturity of US notes/bonds/bills but as a Singaporean, its really quite brainless if theres a 30% tax - will just buy bills hahaha
@@KelvinLearnsInvesting Hi Kevin, i did some research and found out that if we buy US Corporate bonds, the interest income we get from investing in bonds will not be taxed 30% - the 30% dividend withholding tax applies to when shareholders get paid out dividends. Do you have any insights on this?
TBills only have maturities up to 52 weeks. For 10 year, you'll need Treasury Notes. At the bond scanner, go to US Treasuries, at bottom, change Treasury Type to "Note"
Fact check; us gov wants ur money but they dont want u to become rich, they limit u to a very small dollar amount to purchase. Otherwise why cant we put $1,000,000 in t bonds w a guaranteed return? Stay away from this crappy minuscule investment. Think much much bigger

Kelvin , how to invest in oil and index cfd through ibkr ?
Finally some information for non-us residents! Much appreciated!
Hi Kevin! Just a quick question 😃 for example is the 6 month treasury bill automatically expire after 6 months or do you have to sell it manually?🤔
You need to swap it to SGD based on where the swap curves are at. Then u will see why it’s 5.5% USD
Exactly what I was looking for! Love this channel
How to do so for TD Ameritrade? Can't seems to find any bond section
Great explanation! Very clear and thorough.
Great video. Can you also touch on the FX impact. Thanks
Might as well buy US$ Fd via spore banks. Can get 5.x % too
Can you explain?
@@spectacularangular637You can place a USD fixed deposit at a local bank.
(31 July) Rates for $10k for 6 months:
DBS 4.74
UOB 5.11
Actually if that option is available, why do people buy SG T-bills at all? Sorry, a bit of a noob.

Hi Kelvin, I saw the US t bill price X $15000 on the platform, does it mean the minimum investment must be $15000?
@Kelvin, after maturity, money get deposited to IBKR account or we need to sell the T-bills on the market?
Automaticaly get deposited
Thank you soooo much that is the first expl that made sense
Man, that was easy. I couldn't figure it out at all when I visited their website!!! What a mess!
wow, that $5 commission really cuts into the return. Unless, I guess, you buy really long maturities. Or, am i missing something?

why its asking for SGD balance to buy? I thought it should be USD?

Hi Kelvin,
Are we able to use other brokers (eg SCB) to buy US Tbills?
Hi Kelvin may i know can i buy US T Bill through moomoo platform? Tks
After currency conversion is it normal to not be able to buy T--bills? Is the cash not settled until some time passes?
Hi Kelvin, how about poems and scb trading account? Can they be used to buy US Tbill?
Is there a commission when the bond matures?
Hi, nice video. can I buy bonds with margin account in I.B.? or the leverage interest costs eats the bond's profit?
Hi now is great time to invest TBills ?
thank you kelvin, you are master bro ;)
Hi Kelvin, so would you suggest hedging the currency risk or not? Whats your opinion there?
That's up to you
Very interesting and entertaining video. So the bill you bought will mature at Dec.21 2023 for $1000?
Yup
Hi, is this interest from US Treasury Bill taxable in Malaysia?
Great video. Are there any ways to buy us t bills directly from auction? Instead of secondary mkt?
No, Interactive Brokers doesn't support at auction US Treasury purchases. They only support secondary market purchases.

What? Greatest country in the world?
In your example at 6:52, the yield is 2.46% - so how do you get the full 5%? There are none priced for a 5% return
It's 2.46% for a 6 month term. The yield is quoted as 1 yr term so you need to double it.
the only valid question has no answer?
annual vs. semiannual return
Hi Kelvin, thanks for the insight video of T-Bills. Can I check will the T-Bill auto sell upon 6months? (or whatever the maturity time frame you set) or do you need to manually sell it?
Will get back the money automatically
How about FD in USD currency
5% return on 9500 is 9975 not 10,000!

@@KelvinLearnsInvesting thanks so much for your reply, I'll try again. Is there a minimum and maximum limit to the quantity purchased?
