I use gates on my drum bus with a LONG release, it kinda just makes everything’s volume affect everything else. Like there’s usually a fast shaker or closed hat that’s not loud enough to set off the gate, but the kick, snare, and other percussion setting off the gate gives the hat more movement
hey ninja, can you consider doing a swing\groove tutorial (mpc, logic)on drums, bassline and synths vid pls, been waiting on a good one like this from you
Hey zen, Would love to see you do more tutorials on anjunadeep style and more deep and chill stuff like nora en pure, enamour, einmusik and similar artists Thank you
Yo Zen, got any tutorials on how to process 909 kicks to get a good modern tech house kick sound (like John Summit, Fisher, etc)? They have these nice clean stompy sounding kicks that punch. In all these sample packs and all these videos I see of people processing kicks, all I hear are these terrible clicky ass kicks.
Yo Zen, any way you could do a video on how to make something similar to Honey and Badger- Walifornia baseline? That bass is dirty af and I’ve noticed that style is getting popular and want to learn so I can put my own spin on it. Thanks in advance brotha, appreciate everything you do!
Yo Zen, I am just suggesting. I know you have Soothe. You can give TBPro DSEQ a try, it is way cheaper than Soothe and if you compare them, that way, your loyal followers will have a comprehensive knowledge about both Soothe and DSEQ. Also, 03:17, a better way for actual make up gain is using TBPro AB_LM. I know, I sound like I am a marketing guy from TBPro, but after using two three of their plugins, I am a fan of them. Do check at least these two.
@@ZenWorld Also, two more things, which I found out and I think they actually help during Mixing and rough Mixes, are Hornet VU mk4 and Hornet LU meter. Now they are hella cheap (3-5 USD). I know, people might be thinking, oh well, we have dozens of VU and LU meter. Why the hell do I need those from this specific 'Hornet'?? Well... just try them and you will know. Also, thank you Zen for all those Presets and Tutorials. I am also one of your virtual students.
Using LFO tool while compressing is genius, thanks King
Yeah! Awesome tip!
Also drum bus is a great tool inside Ableton for tighter drums.

But that’s in fl studio, idk If the ableton one lets you have a long enough release
