    A lot of people are saying this will not clean a window. It all depends on how dirty the window is. Most of the shops I do are cleaned every week. There are doors made entirely of glass and even after a week they are covered in fingerprints and grease. These doors have to be rubbed quite vigorously with the applicator before removing the water with a squeegee. Even then some marks still need to be removed with a fine microfiber cloth. Other windows have no marks on them at all other than some surface dust and these windows can be cleaned using the method that Terry uses to a high standard. Just remember to check all the windows when you finish from multiple angles and use a decent fine microfiber to clean up any marks left.

      I think it's important to understand that it's a competition of speed. It is very difficult to create a 'real world ' situation consistently in order to measure. And so a 'default' consistence is required. 'Real world dirty windows' is then simply pro rata.

    Thank you Lee and thank you Terry, I was wondering if this technique was for me, and after this insightful demo, I'm looking forward to implementing this in to my business' thanks again

      Darren, I have been reading some of your posts. A lot of them are simple attacks on the people in the video. Please respect the channel and stop posting constant negative comments about Terry Burrows. Competition environment of course is going to be a sanitized version of real life.

    Gave up using a squeegy 30 years ago mop hose spray buff technique gets a better clean that is impossible for mop squeegy to achieve. All my clients agree and last thing i want to do is yo burn out being fast on a hourly rate. Its better to up the hourly rate and do a high quality job then the 2 stage squeegy technique and get more reguar clients that pay well.

      A good window cleaner is a fast window cleaner. As you improve you see the importance of consistency and maximizing every movement. I'll never forget when I first learned to fan clean a large plate glass window when I was left alone to do a large car dealership. I was wiping the squeegee at basically treating these huge plates as if they were small panes. After hours I was almost besides myself with frustration until the boss came by and showed me the technique. It was like a revelation as my flow and consistency improved like some martial art. Speed and proficiency go hand in hand but no one is doing speed like this on the job. If you do windows it should flow like water and you barely break a sweat. It's quite relaxing in the zone.

  • @zachwasil

    i wish they would modify the name of this to water-removal not window washing, this alone will not "wash" a window, as in clean it, they should put a real dirty window up there, baked on bird crap, bug spots, over-paint,dirt, like in the real world, then judge the whole package, scrubbing speed and actual cleanliness, maybe they do?

    • @tonyalbert3343
      @tonyalbert3343 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be done Zach,, Practice. the left hand can scrub as much as needed. When I run across dirty windows my left hand moves up and down in a scrubbing motion which does slow down the squeegee hand but this technique will increase your speed by 30% if used properly.

    Terry your not even cleaning the window mate, you haven't done the Top right corner, you haven't used a scrim, if that wasn't a clean window it wouldn't even be clean. Bit of fun tho, prob looks quite jazzy to people that don't do it all day every day, we could probably train you up you got the basics 🤣

    I wanna see what happens when they have to clean 40-80 windows in a house, move furniture, be careful around breakables, and clean dirty windows where they have to actually scrub it or scrape it, then like someone else mentioned in this post, get the water up so it doesn't damage any carpet or anything like that. These window cleaners seem to just do commercial windows. Bet I could clean old block windows and regular house windows and storm windows that are wicked dirty way faster than these guys, lol. Even swing an extension ladder and bang out a house and make a pro look like a newbie, haha. Anyone can clean a window like that, just takes practice, all I got is practice cleaning dirty windows, lol, like a boss yo

    Not really something you can put into real life proper window cleaning. Ok on nice easy 'clean' low level windows, but then you need to clean the rest of the window ie frame/sill. Good skill to have to challenge your mates though.

    • @tonyalbert3343
      @tonyalbert3343 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are times to use this technique Trev.. I have over 26 years experience. I use this on commercial large glass. It will increase your speed by about 30 percent. Very well worth learning. You cannot however go over glass once. If you were to watch my left hand with this technique, I would be actually scrubbing. You must make sure you have the whole window wet as you know. The first stroke you have to do before you put squeegee on glass unlike this video to do a proper clean. Takes some getting used to. I have my guys learn this because it does speed up process. Which in turn you make more money.
