Really great video review on the taylormade GPS golf app. Thanks very much for the detailed review, lots of key information and very important items that every day regular golfers would use on a platform like an Apple watch. Really appreciate all the info, fantastic job mate !!!!
I've used the My Round Pro app on my phone and it's worked really well. Cool to see the Apple Watch side of things. I also haven't used many of the features that you've shown, so I'll need to use it again and take more advantage of what it offers. I agree with you, love that it's free and it offers plenty.
Yeah I like the phone version too, just need to work out how to get them to work together...Hole19 wins there! But the fact it is completely free is a huge deal
Great review this mate. Been wanting an Apple Watch but wanted a golf app to make the watch that bit more worth while and now I have found it. Will order the watch this week 👍🏼
Hi Tim, I’ve had comments from various countries before saying the same…perhaps because they don’t have enough courses mapped, or maybe a copyright issue or something like that. It’s unusual for sure!
Just downloaded. I think they changed the name to Taylor Made On Course. It’s nice bc I was able to enter every club in my bag. I’m currently using Taylor Made Burner 2.0 1, 3, and 5 woods and Taylor Made Stealth Irons 5-PW.
That is shame, I have had a few comments of it not being available in some regions. Perhaps taylormade haven’t mapped the courses, I know when I first tried it the mapping for my course was years out of date. Perhaps look at my video on hole19, pretty sure that is available in your location!
Thanks Deepak Mahtani I really appreciate the support! I actually don't think the app supports it...probably because the US just don't use it. I know that Hole19 allows stableford scoring, if you havent already check out the reviews I've done of the basic and premium versions of that!
That is a shame, I know a few people in different countries haven’t been able to get it. You might consider hole19 or SwingU or (not a plug) there is a discount code in one of my recent videos for arccos
Hi Jens, no you do not but it needs to stay in range of the phone. If like me you keep your phone in your pocket that’s fine, but if your phone is in your bag you need to remember that is where the distances are coming from.
I have had a few comments like this, I think it is region specific and the only thing I can think of is they don't have many courses loaded in your location?
Subscribed :) , I use the taylormade my round pro app when I want to do a full course scoring , if I'm just out for the average knock I use hole19 for basic gos distances :)
Cheers mate, appreciate the sub! Yeah I’m similar. I’ll use both when the situation is best. I just purchased the premium pro version of hole 19 and tried it out yesterday, there’s a lot on there!
I haven’t tested a garmin watch myself, but my belief is that GPS is only accurate to within 2-3 metres regardless of the device. This was accurate compared to my range finder, just bear in mind the GPS location is coming from the phone in this situation, so that needs to be in your pocket rather than in your bag
I remember finding the setting before, it’s in the watch itself under settings, you can choose to have it stay on the last opened app for one minute, one hour or always. I set mine to always now and that keeps hole 19 open while I’m playing, or you can double tap the button beneath the crown to switch apps
To my knowledge, the app will always reference the gps on your phone, and some apple watches don’t have gps position as a feature so this is probably why.
This is a valid question as carrying your phone in your pocket is not always convenient. I use a Garmin golf watch and just bought an Apple Watch. I’m seriously looking at golf apps for the watch but don’t want to carry my phone as well, that’s just cumbersome. Why do Apple golf watch apps rely on sync with phone otherwise they use too much battery? This seems a very poor facility. Think if all apps need a phone to work well I’ll stick with Garmin which is a shame as I’ll be leaving the Apple Watch at home!
@@ForetoFourGolf I used to keep detailed stats a long time ago. A computer program that came on a 3 and half inch floppy (don't, just don't) but you couldn't record penalty shots on it, water, OB etc so the results were always skewed. I enjoyed using it so I would expect I would enjoy using the modern version. Nice video.
@@jeremiahgolfs thanks for the response, I tried it on the course and the yardage would only change when my phone moved, so do I need to just not open the app on the phone, and only on the watch?
Are you sure the app is free? Man, that course it's amazing bro 👍
100% free my friend! And yeah it is a nice course. Will be spending a lot of time there now I have been told to work from home for 6 weeks
Little more than 6 weeks
Yep haha, still working from home after a year!
Everything about this video was amazing, all the detail and how you showed everything. Great video keep it up mate!!
Thank you that’s great feedback!

It was a golf app that tipped me over the edge to buy one, haven’t regretted it!
Any idea why the app is not available in The Netherlands?
Hi Tim, I’ve had comments from various countries before saying the same…perhaps because they don’t have enough courses mapped, or maybe a copyright issue or something like that. It’s unusual for sure!
Nice work F2F. Love SunCity, great course.
Thanks mate!!

Looks indeed an interesting app for Apple Watch. Cannot load it at the moment. Any ideas about availability in the Netherlands?

@@ForetoFourGolf thanks for your comment; at the moment Hole19 is the app I use!
You are on the right path already then!
Hi mate! Great video, can you listen to music on the gps version of Apple Watch with iTunes?
Hey Henry, thanks for watching! Honestly I’m not sure, but I think so. Whether you could then also be using this app...I really don’t know 😬
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks del!
Awesome review! Do you know how yo enable stableford scoring?

Hey mate, sadly I can’t get the app 😔 bit of a downside that NZ is no included for the app

Do you need the 4g version of the watch to be able to use the app?
Hi Jens, no you do not but it needs to stay in range of the phone. If like me you keep your phone in your pocket that’s fine, but if your phone is in your bag you need to remember that is where the distances are coming from.
Would this work for virtual golf and hitting into a screen? Or does it have to track your exact change in location around the course?
Yeah it would need to know your GPS position to work...
I cant find the app in the appstore 😣
I have had a few comments like this, I think it is region specific and the only thing I can think of is they don't have many courses loaded in your location?
What are those sunglasses? 👍🏻
Hi Sean, they are quicksilver, but you wouldn’t want these...they are prescription and my eyes are screwed 😆 🤓
Do you use the advanced mode or basic mode?
advanced i think, that allows you to enter the shots in and get the stats on distances hit etc. basic mode just does scoring and GPS

Can you view hazards like bunkers and water and their yardage in relationship to your current position with this app on the Apple watch?
Not on the watch to my knowledge, only on the phone,
Do you happen to know if this app works with the Samsung active 2 watch?
Sorry Tom I can’t say for sure, but it does work with some android watches so I’d say it is likely
Hi. Sorry for My english... to your opinion Are the distances on Apple Watch precise in comparison of Garmin GPS watches ? Thanks
So which app do you prefer or use? Or any other suggestions for me to check out?
Do you guys know how to make the app display, on all the time on your apple watch?
I remember finding the setting before, it’s in the watch itself under settings, you can choose to have it stay on the last opened app for one minute, one hour or always. I set mine to always now and that keeps hole 19 open while I’m playing, or you can double tap the button beneath the crown to switch apps
Apologies, I meant to say my round pro...oops!
Do you need your phone in your pocket in order to get accurate GPS distances from the watch or will it work well if the phone is in your bag?
To my knowledge, the app will always reference the gps on your phone, and some apple watches don’t have gps position as a feature so this is probably why.

Check out arccos Paul, that doesn’t rely on the phone GPS for the Apple Watch app! I have a 15% discount code as well, FORETOFOUR15
I don't need an app to tell me I'm crap - I've got mates for that LOL
Seriously though, it looks a good tool.
Maybe I need more mates....😂

Yep, I was doing similar in excel. Used to spend hours on it. So glad something does it for me now!
Does anyone know if it uses the gps on the watch, or do you have to keep the phone in your pocket?
Hi Kyle, I think, and it is a little while since i used this particular app, that it takes GPS from the phone
You can leave your phone and use just the watch.
@@jeremiahgolfs thanks for the response, I tried it on the course and the yardage would only change when my phone moved, so do I need to just not open the app on the phone, and only on the watch?
Makes me wanna start playing golf and get an Apple Watch 😂
You fix that leg up first, you’re delirious! 😂
Fore to Four Golf 😂😂😂
😂
You should try the FORE GOLF GAME TRACKING App with automatic shot detection and great stats :-)
Thanks Oliver, how does it do they auto tracking, via something attached to the clubs?
Which Apple Watch are you using?
Series 4, it should work with all of the current models
