    Heard rumors that one of the major companies is working on a small GPS position transmitter that fits onto the top of existing flagsticks. They also work on a universal software interface so that the position signal can be picked up by GPS watches, smartphone golf apps and GPS screens on electric trolleys to show the exact pin position on the green. That would be a fantastic feature!

    What a great video! Information galore. I’ve downloaded the app but not played a round yet. You’ve answered a lot of questions I had and I’m looking forward to using GRINT. Thanks for the attention to detail! Good work! Hats off! Cheers!!!

    my favorite feature in 2023 is the bad play notifications. hilarious. got a notification the other day that my buddy “cantt stop 3 putting, thats 4 in a row!”. lol.
    best golf app period!

    Spot on video with clear information and sincere comments like "sand-bagging bastard." This one hit home :) I'll make sure to turn off my notifications for Spencer's penalties, don't need to be blowing up all day long.

      Spencer drove into the water, took a drop and made par on the 11th.

    Some great tools, but my favourite thing about playing golf is that it’s the only time I switch my phone off!

    • @SkinsGolfTV
      @SkinsGolfTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is very true. Sometimes I score my game at the end on the phone, but I think if you are really striving to improve your game, you need to get the stats!

    How golf has changed , I've not played for about 12 years or so but looking to get back into it, back then there wasn't anything like this .. I would imagine golf can be even more fun now we have all this at our fingertips (literally) 🎉

    My only concern is the length of time “some players” will spend faffing about with this on every shot on every hole. Play is slow enough already where I play

    • @SkinsGolfTV
      @SkinsGolfTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The trick is to get one player in the group to do the scoring each time. It updates everyone’s accounts and keeps track of all their stats

    • @flibjabber
      @flibjabber 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What's wrong with that? We're all out there to enjoy the day and play a nice game of golf. When you rush through every hole are you enjoying it? No.

      I don't think checking yardages is what's holding up your course. In fact, it's faster to check yardages on an app then looking around on the ground for a sprinkler head or marker. The problem generally is, when people are taking 5 minutes a shot AND taking 6 shots to every green. That's what grinds it all to a halt. You all know exactly who you are!

      Is there really something wrong with escaping the hustle a bustle of life and take you time to relax and enjoy a hobby. Pace of play is a club buisness practice not a player practice . Clubs over centurys have drilled this practice so much that sheep follow without thought its to maximize profits . Its the same reason golf carts are now includeded in course price more now for lower qualty less visited local courses when you used to have to rent them its a buisness tool to get people moving faster to maximize profits
      Sure theres a slight argument to add that it disrupts other players but being as its common practice to tee off and play on a hole while others are ahead in play and the need for people to learn patience its not that big of a deal with the exception of of people who just stand around chatting , drinking ,not playing while their balls are in play
      I paid money to play golf, not to participate in a race to 18 if i wanna go fast ill get in my car

    How can you track a ter shot that went OB? I can see there’s an option at the end to mark penalties but how do you know it was with your driver and not your 6iron?

    EXCELLENT video/review. Could you also detail which features require membership vs what is free? The App Store's listing isn't totally clear. For me, I want to keep score, know distances, track shots, etc, so that I have history of what my trends are. I love the stats part of the video, just want to know what is an expense vs what is free/included. I'm trying to decide between an Apple Watch/TheGrint vs Garmin S42/62. I intend to use whatever watch/app as a golf watch, not really for other functions, so trying to decide...
    Thanks very much!

      For me, its The Grint as an all around winner. Its so easy to use, and the social features are great. B ut you need to get the paid version for the best experience.

    Great review, but these GPS golf apps like The Grint, 18 Birdies, and SwingU all drain my phone’s battery. Instead, I use the Garmin S12 golf watch. It’s accurate, tracks your stokes and is easy to adjust on the fly, all without having to pull out my phone. Cheers and happy golfing!

    Does the Apple Watch app stay on, or do you have to go into the menu and open it every time during a round?

    • @SkinsGolfTV
      @SkinsGolfTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've found, for the most part, it stays on. Really helpful actually, especially if you like to leave your phone in the bag and not look at it.

    • @imahumberto7
      @imahumberto7 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It stays on most of the time, but sometimes you need to go back and open it again. Could be frustrating sometimes. There might be a setting we can change, but I have not figured out yet.

    Can you please make a video on how to set up and play in tournament play mode where everyone can see each other score even if you’re not in the foursome that is keeping score.I think it’s called leaderboard. I tried to do it this past Sunday but it only kept the scores of the guys that I was playing with and not the other guys that I entered in our foursome. Thank you very much

    • @SkinsGolfTV
      @SkinsGolfTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว
