Of the items you kept - Would love to see how you use them, like a before and after with them! I looked on your channel didn’t see a similar video

I haven't done many hair-related videos yet, but this is a great idea! I've put it on my potential videos list. Thanks for the great suggestion, Lauren!

Haha! At this point I probably need to declutter my dust too. I'm glad to know I'll have someone to "hang out" with if I do. It's always lovely to hear from you, Åshild! ❤

I glanced at this as I finished painting. Is this what you did when you played here? Wow. So much stuff 😮 I should've had a bottle of champagne ready.

I just brought my travel rollers - no room for all the fancy stuff in my bag that trip. ;-)

This is interesting as my hair has always been thicker and kind of wiry, and also very wavy. So I keep it short because I remember as a kid when I would go longer between haircuts how unmanageable it was, especially during the summer because of heat and humidity. The only thing I kind of miss is the Christoper Reeve Superman curl in the front that I had.
Even I don't understand how someone thought using satin as a covering on a hair curler makes sense. 🤔
Looking at the pictures on the packaging for the barrel curlers, I'm taken back to my senior year of high school when all the girls who spent probably way too much money getting their hair styled for prom tried to keep it looking nice for the intervening week until graduation. It was kind of funny to see.
My grandma would've have definitely appreciated your scarf game for looking stylish with rollers in. She was a good one for doing that.
The aesthetics you have in shower caps is quite the interesting spectrum...😂😂
Overall, thank you for the edifying look at different techniques and technologies of hair styling. I've marveled at looks various people were able to achieve, but always kind of wondered at the work that goes in to it.

That Christopher Reeve Superman curl sounds cute!
I assume they used satin on that curler so that the cuticle doesn't get "roughed up", making the hair frizzy. All I know is that their plan backfired (at least for my hair type). Those things slipped out of my hair before I could even snap them shut.
We need to bring scarves and rollers back. I've always loved that look. (And pin curls, and victory rolls…)
You mentioning the girls in your high school trying to maintain their styled hair between prom and graduation made me laugh. I've been there. In fact that's my state of mind nearly every week. 😂
Yeah… shower cap design is really… weird. Since they're just utilitarian it's not important. But it would be nice to find something other than nana, nanny or neurosurgeon.
I'm with you! I've often been in awe of other people's hair styles and wondered what goes into all of them.
As always, it's lovely to hear from you Zach!

@@TheStyleStumbler I don't know if there are any pictures, but in Kindergarten I went as Superman for Halloween. I remember doing a parade through the school and my mom tried to tease the curl down for it.
I'd much prefer scarves and rollers to make a comeback than some of the other hair trends coming back to popularity. I am thankful that I've yet to see anyone with a rat tail.
Never having need of a shower cap, I'm not sure what's out there. But in these times of e-commerce and niche shopping, I'm sure there is someone somewhere doing really stylish ones.

I was just looking at the overnight curls. I see they have a larger set. I’m definitely interested. I don’t like to heat style at all. Curl formers are a pain with long hair. I don’t have the patience anymore. Lottabody setting lotion will keep curls in for longer.

    • @TheStyleStumbler

Some of the overnight curling options out there today are so good.
I agree: Curlformers really are impractical - although they work well, I'm glad I was able to give mine away to a happy home.
Thanks for the tip on the Lottabody setting lotion!

Do you use your rollers on damp hair or after you’ve heat styled your hair to keep them in place? Thanks☺️

    • @TheStyleStumbler
      @TheStyleStumbler  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

My hair won't hold its shape when heat styled, so the only way to shape it is by styling it wet to dry. I use my rollers on damp hair. But sometimes I also use them to refresh my hair the next day (by putting the rollers in and then gently spraying a light mist of water onto my hair while in the rollers).

I tried the Kitsch stylers and they slipped out of my wavy thick hair too. They seem unusable.

The Kitsch Stylers really do seem unusable. That’s why I was so happy to find the overnight blowout version with the velveteen finish. They really stay put!

I have fine but curly hair… lots of it. I think it’s the worst type lol.

It sounds like fine straight hair might be easier to deal with. And yet I'm always trying to curl mine! I guess the grass is always greener. ;-)
