Bald black man here. Found your channel randomly and been watching ever since. There’s something so soothing about watching a flat press and trim. It’s like when the barber lines up my beard perfectly. Nothing like it 😂❤
I am a curly/kinky girl. I go to a phenomenal hairstylist monthly for a relaxing wash/conditioner and rod wet set. Every 4 months, I get a silk press. Growing up, I just thought my hair was difficult. It really was that I just didn't know how to properly care for my hair. This is why I luv your channel. You teach us and bless us with your skills on a regular!!
I’m part of that 3% of men who watch the channel 😂 I do have long hair that I straighten but I honestly just love your education, voice, and video style before bed. Crazy though cause I been a fan for a while! Always love seeing the transformations
Hello! I’m one of the 3%. I’m an aspiring stylist and i came across Deeper Than Hair a few years back and I Love It Here! The way Kee explains everything is very clear and concise. Almost as if I’m in class. ❤
@01:32: “ . . . treat your hair very delicately because it is.” PREACH! 💯 Once I learned the importance of patience and gentleness my hair game was off and running! I stopped trying to get my hair to do what I want it to do, I do what IT wants and needs me to do. ❤
I love how you said her hair is still relatively healthy despite needing a good trim. There’s a difference between damage and needing a maintenance trim
I'm a heat trained natural gal since 2021 and I love it. ❤️❤I use heat every 2 weeks and my hair is thriving for the last 2 years. My hair doesn't revert in this atlanta heat either. My hair was 4a/b before heat training. My wash day also only takes 1.5 hrs now ❤
It’s amazing how much a difference it has been for my hair to change my iron temp down from high (450) to medium (375) I’m not getting all those splits I used to. My curls actually spring back after it’s shampooed without the heat damaged straight parts that I used to have. I also do my best to do single passes when I iron it and that def makes a difference, especially in the front edges where my hair is a bit more fine and prone to heat damage
Same, I use 380 degrees, one pass, and my curls come back; I also only use heat after a fresh wash and deep condition, using bantu knots and plats to keep my hair stretched until my next wash. Wrapping is not good for me because the heat from my scalp, when I sweat, reverts my hair.
Girl - you are so fun to watch and to listen to. Everything, your voice, the music and of course the beautiful outcome you slay on your gorgeous models. Thank you! ❤
The light's off effect was stunning 😍 And thanks for the reminder to open mine. I purchased the chaser over a year ago and have forgotten about it. SMH
Love your videos! I wish I could show you my hair before I started watching and now! WOW. My hair is natural, my curl pattern is back, and my length is to my bra strap thanks to following you!!! trimming my hair regularly, and using heat for holidays only. Thank you!!
I'm part of the 3% lol and I always enjoy your videos. You've given me good ideas on how to take care of my hair better and I appreciate it. 💖💖💖 Also, two shows I'd recommend are Suits and Pose. Been watching those again and getting my ENTIRE LIFE 😂
Hi! I’m ready for the cooler weather so I can get my hair flat ironed too. I only get it pressed once a year for my birthday in December since I sweat in my head so easily. I do love the way my curls and coils spring back after a fresh trim. Makes wash day and styling easier for me. I think I should try the attachment and recommend it to my stylist. Tfs!
I love the chase method but its so hard, I even had ideas of how to make it easier but it never crossed my mind that someone could make a straightener-attachment 😭 you are so smart, I need this
Curly girl hereee!!! I get about 3-4 silk presses a year to go with my quarterly trims. Because of you, I always ask for 1 pass to lessen my chance of damage but also because I’m not a fan of supa flat hair. I like just a little volume/texture. Plus, my last silk press straightened some of my front hairs (which are naturally looser than the rest of my hair) so with my upcoming trim i think I’ll just get some big messy curls instead of a full press.
Hi, I straighten my hair for fall and winter seasons. I will switch up between leaving my in a blow dry state to straightening, just to keep from using too much heat. Yes, the chase method is difficult when doing it yourself. I might invest in that comb attachment. As always, thanks for sharing ❤❤
I love to switch it up and flat iron my hair. I noticed that I get heat damage with titanium and not so much with ceramic so I had to stop using my titanium iron because I like wearing my curls and don’t want them damaged. With the right heat protectant, deep conditioner, routine, etc, it’s fun to have the versatility.
Yes, yes, yes!! The hair gets so much hotter using the titanium than using a ceramic iron. I had to stop using my babyliss titanium and I bought a ceramic iron. The difference is like night and day!
I've been doing a "silk press" and use the "chase method" with a brush for eons while stylists at salons had NO clue as to what I had been referring to when I asked them if they knew how to do it. I'm talking about mid 90's til about late 2010. I've never used a comb to silk-press though. After applying heat protectant, I use a bristle brush to blow-dry wet or damp hair, getting right in between every few strands of tight curly hair and gently pulling straight away from the roots while blow-drying (concentrating on curly roots.) Then after all the hair is dry, I grab a flat iron and bristle brush, and straighten it with only one pass as well, efficiently from 380°-400° though, on both myself and on other women. I personally, never go to salons cuz I've been curling and straightening my own hair since I was about 12. That's when I purchased my first non-ceramic/titanium iron with the hair-pinching gray plates. 😄 Heat protectant during iron straightening was also unheard of when I started using it even around 2010! I'm just SO glad that stylists like u share their knowledge and secrets about getting their hair right! 💪🏼Now, one thing I haven't learned was how to cut my own hair the correct way. I just always cut away at ends straight across or by just measuring my hair from the sides and cutting. 😕 I forgot that I learned a technique from u some years back and had to check your tutorials again to do it on my hair the other day. 😄 THANK U FOR ALLLLLLL U DO!!!!!!! 💐
I cut my hair extremely short about 2 years ago to grow it out the healthiest it had ever been. My hair is the longest it's been now and I flat iron and trim every 6mo. I would love to start doing every 2 mo and go to an actual stylist... These 6mo trims leave my hair looking sooo choppy (I'm not a professional obviously lol). I would love to develop that relationship with a stylist, someone who knows my hair and can teach me as it grows but it's so hard to build that trust. That's why I love your channel so much Kee, you make me feel so beautiful and educated and I'm not even in your chair!!!! Keep spreading that joy and love.
First, LOVE her hair! Thanks for the heads up on this gadget!! I never learned how to do the chase method. 😊😊 UPDATE: I’ve been watching a lot of early 2000’s shows. I’m now obsessed with Girlfriends…it is timeless and I just never get tired of it. LOL!
I am so glad YT recommended me this channel. I needed this in my life. I used to flat iron my hair every week. But it destroyed my hair. Now I am paranoid by flatirons. But you are truly a professional. I love it. Please keep shining. Because of this video I just subscribed to your channel.
I’m getting that grip comb! I straighten a few times a year for maintenance trims because I wear my wash and go mainly. The curly cuts don’t work for my hair, so straightening is better way to see everything.
Beautiful hair, i need that peace added to mt flat iron. Can you do another video showing how you can curl the hair with a that comb attachment. Thank for sharing 🙏
The moment I saw they work well with your irons, I was sold! Your irons are already the Truth. This is going to make them a dream come true. Thank you for sharing!
That grip comb is awesome! I love that you only do one pass! I don't like my hair super straight anyway. I don't do a lot of heat in my hair. GOD BLESS!
Haha. Thanks for the shout out to the men! Glad I'm not the only one. You're so good at what you do. It's fascinating what you can do with people's hair. Love your channel. Keep up the good work
I love ❤️ natural and I am laying off the heat because before my hair was so over processed with heat damage so now my natural tresses are healthier and beautiful and I love ❤️ it
I find your videos and voice so relaxing. You seem like a rare pure soul. I don’t have curly hair but my hair is very coarse and will not stay straight and smooth since I lost it and it grew back different after treatment.. I need to get one of those on my straightener 😮
Thanks so much for demostrating the grip comb. Just what i need because I cannot do the chase method on my own hair....the struggle is real. I will be ordering mine immediately to be ready for my next wash day. This straight hair natural thanks you! ❤
When your edges are your best friends!! ❤❤ Love, love, LOVE your hair care approach!! You are gifted to do this. For movies, I’ve gotten hooked on Nollywood movies on TH-cam and Amazon Prime during the pandemic. It’s refreshing to see so many faces that look like us instead of that one bit part in a movie.
Hi Kee, I purchased the grip comb a while ago, but haven't used it yet. I was concerned about it fitting properly on the flat iron I bought from you. No concerns now. Thanks for using it in this video.
I will blow dry my hair to about 80%. Then flat twist it up. I don't straighten my hair or use a curling iron. If i want those looks I'll just plop a wig on because i dont play with my hair and potential damage. My hair grows slowly so I can't risk causing setbacks.
First of all, I’m buying that cutting collar! I’m a 3c/4a natural for over 10 years now I’ve always applied heat to my hair whether it was relaxed or natural. I blow dry it, flat iron it, and if I’m doing a wash and go I use a hooded dryer and a blow dryer after to stretch it. Regardless heat is always a part of my routine. I personally think as a natural that keeping my hair stretched (wash and go or blown out) or straight helps to avoid single stranded knots.
Beautiful! Couldn’t wait for you to review the grip comb. Now I feel more comfortable purchasing. ❤ I was late to watching Suits but started watching on Netflix and really like this show. 👍🏾👍🏾
The client has a lovely hair. That tool is good but... its just turned your flat iron into a pressing comb. My recommendation for series to watch would be Fargo series 1, 2 and 3 gripping, tense, unexpected turns just fantastic.
13:29 if you like fast action, 24 is great. I am rewatching now and I am on the edge of my seat like I had not seen one episode before. Also thank you so much for the video. I have never been able to properly perform the chase method. I am getting that comb today.
I revisited Breaking Bad after watching Better Call Saul, which provided so much more depth into BB. BCS is the better show in my opinion, but they complement each other so well. Thank you for the beautiful relaxing video!
I need to get my hands on that grip comb! Thanks for showing it, I never knew something like that even existed. I did learn how to do the chase on myself but on the back of my head the comb sure is going to make things a lot easier :)
Her hat turned out so beautiful . The new iron is amazing . You are such a professional . You made it look so easy to use . I think it will be a hit .👍
I’m a curly girl with buku flat irons that I accumulated when I was still relaxed.😂 I want this comb attachment even though I only straighten once or twice a year for trims. I also have issues with my silk processes not coming out right but, I’m learning a lot from this channel. ❤it!
I just ordered The Grip Comb. I alternate between going to the salon and doing my hair at home (I just did it yesterday) and said device would be so helpful for my flat-iron chase-method. I love your videos. Thank you so much for what you do; I have learned so much from you!
Gurl, you put your thang down as usual!!! My hot comb is over 30 yrs old. 😂 My hair would be like hers. All I wear is my natural hair also. Simply Beautiful!!!! It's been a while since I have been to a hair salon. Really bad experience. I really need a trim, probably will turn into a cut.😢
Let me just say I love your videos. I also that you are concerned about the health of the hair and not about just making money. You do a great video I wish I could let you do my hair.
I'm glad you asked about tv shows I need something to watch as well. However, Suits, Pearson (the spin-off) and All Rise are really good shows to watch.
Hii! I’m part of the three percent been watching for along long time. I’ve learned sooo much watching your channel, But too me completely honest you put me to sleep every night. Idk if it the background music or if it’s your voice. But baby when I tell you not even three minutes inn the video my eye get soooo heavy. Lol! So I thank you for soothing me too sleep! Much love hunny, keep up the fabulous work. ❤
Not a good old seasoned hot comb!!!😂😂 I remember getting my hair done in my Aunts kitchen. Hot, seasoned hot comb!! Have the whole house smelling like cooked hair and Ultra Sheen!! Great memories ❤.
I average 1x a year straightening my hair just to get my hair braided for vacation. I set the temp to a low 310 degrees, and it comes out very straight at first, but it poofs back up quickly. I attribute this to not having "heat trained hair". I have fine, but very dense hair and it works for me. I really don't have the desire for straight hair anymore (20yrs of relaxed hair was all the straight hair I needed for a lifetime.) But I do enjoy watching hair straightening videos and learning something new.
I blow my hair out ever 3 months or so and trim about an inch. I know I need to get a professional trim to get the "inside" but I've been procrastinating. Love the grip comb.
Thank you for all the great teaching! I once left a stylist because her shampoo person would rough house my wet hair pulling with comb and blow dryer. Now I know it wasn't my imagination that hair was being broken off.
I don’t want to offend you, and I am not a beautician but I grew up in the 50’s when they used a hot comb. My aunts were beauticians so I grew up with the hot comb and still have my moms hot comb since the 50’s! You have to bend the hot comb up as soon as you get to the scalp. I see a bunch of young beauticians just comb through the hair but if you bend at the roots it comes out so straight! Try it! I love watching your videos!❤
Every 3 weeks for me for heat. I’m a straight head silk press girl. The chase comb is truly a game changer. I mainly watch 90s comedy and drama like Fresh Prince, A Different World, Martin, NY Undercover, etc.

What the name of the straightener ?
Rod wet set? Is it just hair rollers applied when the hair is wet and then sit under a dryer?
@@Ashley-og9ti It's perm rods applied to my wet hair with foam mousse. I then sit under dryer

I would love if you could create the perfect silk press kit. With flat iron, comb attachment, serum For the holiday season. I'd buy that
Best Black Haircare/Styling Channel hands down 🙏🏾💜🔥
Yup 🎉
I love how you said her hair is still relatively healthy despite needing a good trim. There’s a difference between damage and needing a maintenance trim
I don't like a scissor happy stylist. I'm ducking when anyone comes near my hair with scissors. I don't mind a trim, but that's what it should be.
I appreciated this also.

Her hat turned out so beautiful . The new iron is amazing . You are such a professional . You made it look so easy to use . I think it will be a hit .👍
I'm part of the 3%! I don't do hair nor do I have much. 😊 I just love watching.
I love that she has side burns! I have long sideburns too ❤
Gurl, you put your thang down as usual!!! My hot comb is over 30 yrs old. 😂 My hair would be like hers. All I wear is my natural hair also. Simply Beautiful!!!! It's been a while since I have been to a hair salon. Really bad experience. I really need a trim, probably will turn into a cut.😢
I like the blow dry part! It’s therapeutic 😊
Thanks for always telling us about new tools for easier better styling
Let me just say I love your videos. I also that you are concerned about the health of the hair and not about just making money. You do a great video I wish I could let you do my hair.
Just wonderful! Thank you! God bless you!
Omg the hair measurements for the chair is magic ❤
This is so soothing. She has beautiful hair. I'm going to straighten mine for the first time in like a year
Her sideburns are beautiful! 🥰
Gotta cop a grip comb!
Thanks for the shout out (for the guys)! I’m in Santa Fe, NM and I watch, because it relaxes me.
I need to see u use this to curl hair!!!! This is a game changer!!!!
I love her edges and side burns
Every 3 weeks for me for heat. I’m a straight head silk press girl. The chase comb is truly a game changer. I mainly watch 90s comedy and drama like Fresh Prince, A Different World, Martin, NY Undercover, etc.
