IAS is not a job. It is a service to the nation. Like that it is not easy to achieve that. If we want to achieve this definitely we have to do hard work. Don't compare with others and avoid all negative thoughts . I think if we have a proper timetable we can crack this exam without any coaching. We should spend more and more time to prepare for this. If we want to be an ias officer. We should have a lot of qualities. 1)responsibility 2)hardwork 3)good communication skills 4)good knowlege 5)take decisions . these are the basic qualities of an ias officer.

I think district collector ,deputy commissioner, district magistrate are all the same but different states used in different terms..in north mostly use as DM , In southern as district collector and in Northeast and some northern region use as deputy commissioner .. Correct me if I am wrong
