I always think that the OG casios are so indestructable that they are basically as tough as G-shocks anyway.
Try to get your hands on another cheap Casio. The HDA-600B-1BV(Black Dial) /7BV(White Dial). It's an analog Casio with steel protectors too. Comes with 100m wr and only costs around $20! Total steal!
If I'm honest, my W218H probably gets the most wrist time as my faithful daily gym partner. This bull bar 'mod' is awesome! Definitely need to try this

I've been buying up a lot of budget Casios lately (mainly because of this and TVG's channel). Now my issue is, as a person with well over 50 watches now, I really struggle deciding on which ones to wear. Does anybody else have this problem? How do you guys (and gals) chose which watch to wear? I try to pair with my outfit or what I'm going to be doing that day. But as a leasure day, I struggle hard on which watch to choose. Do I go diver, flieger, gshock, sieko, etc.. THERE'S TOO MANY CHOICES! Haha

This is why I just had to snag a bull bar for my classic G-Shock square. For a rugged watch, something about the bull bar just... adds that extra spice.
I did the same when I bought my 5600. The stock case has a small bezel that really doesn’t provide a lot of protection for the screen.
A casiotastic upgrade for sure MWC! I am wondering what Mr. Pagani thinks about bull bars.
Interesting Casio fact: Tadao Kashio’s first product was a finger ring called the Yubiwa pipe, designed to hold a cigarette and allow the smoker to smoke the entire cigarette without having to hold it, making for no wasted tobacco. This was during WW2 when cigarettes were at a premium and it was very popular at the time. Next came his calculator which was the first to use solenoids.
The bull bars are a great addition to really make the G-Shock's even more indestructible. I have a DW-5600E with a bull bar AND screen protector, on a Jays and Kays 16 -> 22 millimeter NATO/watch strap converter and a black NATO strap as my work watch and I'm a house painter who beats the SHIT out of it.
I can easily replace the rubber bezel and bull bar when they get really beatup and clean the face easily as well. I also spent $75 USD on a metal bezel/bracelet combo to make it look like the $500 all metal Solar/Multiband models.
I also have a GW-M5610 for nicer occasions on another $75 metal bezel bracelet combo in silver and black PVD, so with both options, I'm covered for just about everything.
Just incredibly versatile and durable watches for a great value. I still prefer my analog Seiko's/Citizen's/etc because I can get a better "feel" of the time, since that's what I was raised on (I'm almost 43 years old), but I've been buying Casio G-Shock for over 35+ years and they've NEVER let me down.
The Tough Solar/Multiband 6 on my GW-M5610 and my MTG-M900DA are PRICELESS and are definitely the most maintenance free watches on the planet IMO 😎👍🕺
Thanks for your various videos. I just discovered them today and already i can't stop watching one after the other!!! I really love the new Tough Solar/Multiband 6 GA-2100 Casi-Oaks and the fact that I can replace the bezel and bracelet with another HQ metal replacement for a fair price. Just unscrew the body of it and screw it right into the one-piece metal bezel/bracelet and done. Modding doesn't get any easier than that and everything will probably protect it better than my DW-5600/GW-M5610 upgrades, although I do LOVE being able to switch out the straps/bracelets on my metal bezel upgrades. Sometimes I put on a metal Bandini (Amazon and great quality compared to my StrapCode versions) Milanese mesh bracelet on with the metal bezels, even though the 16mm looks kinda strange. Or i put on a metal Jays and Kays 16 -> 20/22mm converter and can wear ANY strap/bracelet/NATO i want to just like a regular watch!!!
Anyway, super versatile and durable and a TON of aftermarket mods available on Amazon and eBay. Super stoked to get a new Solar Casi-Oak!!!

I've got this exact watch and it's been a great travel companion, tough and legible plus the light is useful for nighttime!
I just picked this up in green last week and added a nato strap. For $15 it can't be beat for value and looks.
A word of advice. I bought a bull bar for my 218 & the fit is just too tight. It gouged the corners & never did sit straight. I'd imagine tolerances aren't exact between different makes. Just something to be mindful of.
I had perfect fit with the JaysandKays brand Bull Bars in the past, but I know the Mad Watch Collector would not link to a poor fitting product.

6:30 I've two Skmei! Models 1222 and 1358. The 1222 model is very basic, and I got it for $15 on Amazon a few years back. The only reason I bought it was to have a RED light to check the time at night and not lose my night vision. Yeah, tactical indeed! 😁 I HAD to specifically search for red light watches on Amazon to find it. I'm actually surprised other watch brands don't have this option, especially for watches used by the military. 🤔 It has options of other colored light to choose from: light green, dark green, yellow, light blue, dark blue, purple and even a multicolor blinking option. Still surprised Casio has not done such a thing for their watches. A lot of people would love having these different color options to choose from!
The other Skmei is 1358 model with altimeter, barometer, compass, pedometer, thermometer, timer, alarm, etc. AND it lights up GREEN! So the animals won't see it (apparently they cannot see green?) if you're hunting at night! 😁 I paid around $35 (Amazon) for it a few years back. Great price compared to the more expensive Casios!

I wonder if this would fit the F-108? I have both of these watches and both share the same module and case sizes are really close. I prefer the looks of the 108 little more

Installed dw5600 bullbar on w800h. Looks great.
I really like my 218h however for budget Casios I'm really into the w737H. The recently released MWD-110 has got basically the same module in it with a different screen. That's a great watch and looks really snazzy, but has a raised resin crystal like the 218h. The W737h has got a raise illuminator logo at the top and raised central light button at the bottom. Protects the screen quite well. It's only about £25 and it's styled after the GX-56 king square. Honestly think it's a belter.
Does the 737 take the same size bull bar?

The band doesn't fit well on me. The two ridges protrude the skin. It's either too tight or too loose. It can use a better band option

IMO the Casio AE1500 is a far better deal with much better legibility and water resistance. Also the acrylic crystal is already protected by the bezel; although it is a bit large.
The AE1500 is huge. I have one and like it. I do want to get the W218H with the orange strap and just look cool.

Currently I switch between a W800HM and a W219H.
I work outdoors in a copper mine, so I only wear cheap watches to work. And this video may have introduced me to the coolest "cheap" watch.
You’ll notice the less display features if you’re used to using a w800h. This watch is a lot more basic. W800 will display current time on the timing screen which is something I use at work and find annoying in other Casio watches.
I love Casio watches for many reasons (innovation, reliability, design, brand quality/fidelity and making retro new again). Admittedly, my small Casio collection consists of G-Shocks although I am constantly enticed by their other offerings. Casio watches are like the old arcade video games - they have a unique quality, functionality and utility that modern technology can not transcend.
Same. I have 5 gshocks but still wear the hell out of the budget models. I love the big round desert tan one, with the huge display and 10 yr battery. 21 bucks! It feels like gshock, strap is even nice except for plastic buckle.

I enjoy how monochromatic this watch is and I love the look of the band. This watch looks like something Arnold Schwarzenegger would wear in one of his movies. Just a tough, no BS watch.
I took an ae-1000w, removed the internal grid, filled with silicon oil and added a 5H screen protector from Aliexpress. Now it is about 2000M water resistant, legibility is excellent and tough as a nail.:)

I'll wear my watch splitting wood, turning wrenches, and other potentially rough tasks. And Casios, in general, are tough and reliable - there is probably little chance that any harm would come to the watch the way I wear it. BUT - and the "but" is key - if I DID manage to damage a Casio, there would always be a voice in the back of my head saying "of course it's damaged, you didn't wear the watch made SPECIFICALLY for rough wear - a gshock." And that's while I stick to gshock even if other watches would do the job - the feeling that I wasted money cutting corners and ending up with a damaged or inoperative watch instead of buying the watch for that purpose in the first place.
I’ve currently got a GWG2000 on and wore it to pick up my daughter from school. Can’t help think it was OTT for that;)
I’ve worn a standard Casio W800h for just over 5 years of manual work. Farming, construction and now landscaping. It’s taken some huge knocks in that time and it’s still fine. My fav watch because of its toughness. I got my first Gshock square and tried it with work but found it was a bit too ridged and bulky and irritated me over a day, particularly bending wrist while using chainsaw/ sweat and dirt. The W800s screen isn’t recessed but I’m kind of proud of the scratches and knocks on it. I just put some polywatch on once a year which knocks out most of the scratches leaving only a big one from a barb wire fence i was installing. The thinner the watch the closer it sits to the wrist and receives less knocks imo. Check it out and give it a try. Currently wearing mine on a cordura material strap which has made it extra comfy similar to the SBG100B strap

Nah I'll stick with a G-Shock. They just wear better when getting beat up. These cheap Casios aren't that tough. I've had W800's break on me on the job. The case or strap will fail and the watch is basically garbage. The crystals scratches up super easy but with a little automotive polish they come right back. But having said that my old dw6900 lasted me for 8 years and still works perfectly. I just recently bought a new band and bezel for it and it back to new again.

A piece of helitape works well as a screen protector on watches with plastic faces - & crystal glass too.
I almost bought this watch yesterday when I was in Argos ... I talked myself out of it because I have the all-black Casio G-Shock DW5600BB, So I ended up buying a Radio Controlled Casio WV-58U-1AVES instead... You can turn off the radio-controlled option on the watch and it turns into a regular digital watch..They only lose/gain a few seconds a month at the most anyway...When you want the time to update just leave the radio-controlled option on overnight and it will update AND it will tell you the exact time it updates.
Long live Casio (My favourite watch brand)
EDIT... Would you please review the Casio W-59 sometime if you have one in your Casio collection, Sadly this Casio digital watch has pretty much been forgotten in 2023. I am going to put my Casio W-59 on tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video and indeed this channel.

I've been thinking about getting a Square for my first G-Shock. I think I might just get this Casio and bull bars instead. And cut a piece of phone screen protector for extra protection.
I bought the 218h from Argos because I started finding my negative display Gshock hard to read. The screen is clear but strap dug into my risks unless loose. And the cheap plastic side already has a dent less than 2 months in. Wondering to dump it or get a better strap. I also had an F91W till I lost it. Strap too short on that. The bull bars didn’t work on my 218h from Amazon.
