  • On the Bernstein & Holmes Show, Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic discussed star forward DeMar DeRozan's exit from Chicago as he joined the Sacramento Kings in a sign-and-trade deal. Will the Bulls be bad enough in 2024-'25 to keep their top-10 protected draft pick? What is DeRozan's legacy with the Bulls? Also, how concerning is Bulls forward Patrick Williams' foot injury?

First Mayberry says oh its a realistic contract for Williams, he doesn't consider him injury prone.... Then proceeds to say he is STILL recovering from the foot injury from last year. WHAT?!?! Feels like to me that the Bulls OVERPAID for a player that can't stay healthy consistently.

Pau Gasol was a great two-year Bull. Not quite at that three-year threshold.

20 wins. Is that too optimistic?

How bad were the Bulls WITH DeMar DeRozan? Bad is bad. I don't even understand why people are making a big deal out of this.

One of only two Bulls, the other being Caruso, with a BPM over zero (unless you count Vuc and Lavine at .1). And he/Caruso did this with virtually no help beyond each other. They were carrying an otherwise horrible team that if anything held them both back. They both not coincidentally also had the highest value over replacement on the team. The Bulls were a very bad team with just two legit players. They are now just a very bad team.

@@andrewb8074 great players elevate the Roster. Demar didn't elevate this team in anyway, therefore he isn't a great player.
In fact I believe Demar is what destroyed this team.his style of play and attitude stunted the growth of Pat and forced Zach to either take a step back or become a ball hog.
Demar isn't "the master of the 4th" he is the master of the con-job!!
Keep tabs on the Kings this season and I'll bet their offense slows WAY DOWN,guys will be standing around ball watching, and I'll bet by this time next season one of Fox or Sabonis are being blamed for why the Kings didn't get into the playoffs,or choked in the first round.
Demar is a team Killer that somehow is able to spin the narrative of being a fantastic teammate a leader etc when all he does is ball hog and brinks his team out of close games.

      @@andrewb8074they were a 500 team. that’s not very bad.
      but thanks for the data.
there is no way the bulls go 500 w/o demar over the past 3 years.
