    Hey Rachel, Just wanted to let you know that those cool rocks you saw are actually super amazing. They are a sedimentary rock strata, which is an awesome way to look at the story of geological time in the area. The reason that they look sideways is due to Japan's ever changing geological structure. A large earthquake or eruption (since you are very close to Mt Ontake an active volcano) put a lot of pressure under the rocks and shot then skyward. :D Beautiful! ....I like rocks.

    • @RachelandJunAdventures
      @RachelandJunAdventures  7 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      My travel guide would be highly dependent upon how much you are okay walking, because tourist places here require IMMENSE AMOUNTS OF WALKING.
      I just took Heather around for about a week and we walked... I think it was 47 miles (75+ km). And that was just me, since I took breaks, since at times I was like Heather I canNOT WALK ANYMORE. She walked even more. It was a pretty eventful week but uh yeah I think guides are very dependent upon how much people are willing to walk!

    I went there about 3ish years ago while I was on exchange in Japan! A friend of mine lived in Gifu (even though we were at the same university in Aichi), so he took me here for a day trip, and we must have gone the wrong time of year because I think we rain into maybe 2 other people while climbing up? It was empty! But having never seen a squirrel in real life before (because there are none in Australia) the village was amazing!

    I think that it's so funny that there's a squirrel park in Japan! My whole university in California is basically a squirrel park lol. The squirrels here are waaaay too used to people and will come up begging for food. My friend even had her sandwich snatched from her when she wasn't looking! Very fun video to watch though, I love watching you two visit all the niche little places in Japan.

    The view from the castle was breathtaking, and it's inside contents was interesting. I would have probably took the rope-way up too. :)
    My local park has an area where people, usually older men, feed the squirrels. I can say I have done this too, more than a few times and it was nice. My kids really enjoyed it, also. The squirrels would get close enough to sit next to your shoes, or if you were really still, they would sit on the park bench with you. I like to feed them, usually when the trees are in bloom. There is always someone bringing them something, in the morning, most of the time. They never have a shortage. lol
    Thanks for sharing the video. I really enjoyed it! ^^

    Question about Jun, is he a full time youtuber, or does he have another job? I thought he did cooking, but I've seen some comments on how he's not a chef

    Loved the footage of the gondola lift going up the mountain pass the Japanese Castle. Probably will see that in a upcoming James Bond movie but they'll probably be on top fighting with Jedi laser pen knives.

    Wow grey rats for real but so cute. If they would be pets like your cats would either of you want to have one?

      Ehhhhh I'd rather stick to fully domesticated animals that poo in designated areas and only destroy some of our things instead of all of our things. I had a hamster when I was a kid, too, which was adorable but not super fulfilling as a pet because there wasn't much intelligence in there to interact with. Not sure how much you could bond with a squirrel.

      Rachel & Jun's Adventures!
      Haha makes sense they would totally destroy the house...hmm I wonder if you could use them as paint strippers before painting a wall...
      Apparently they are super intelligent, well apart from one: My brother was driving down the road, squirrel runs out in front of him and he had to break to not hit it, then it ran back. And he said he saw it do the exact same thing with the car behind! xD
      Anyway, thanks for the video and wish you all the best. :)
      Edit: also, eeek! They replied! Hehe

    Hello, just clicked on 2 of your videos. Gorgeous videos of the places your visiting. At a park I have gone to, I have the pleasure of feeding the birds and squirrels as well. I wish in the states too they had specific areas like this just for squirrels or Foxs. I would definitely pay for this kind of fun. Looks relaxing as well to see it all. Have fun out their.
