As an ex Emirates airlines purser for 13 years, I love to fly short flights from Dubai. Since I've been doing my ppl in Dieppe Normandy I also fly small planes from there to practice my do-list and other exercices as well as cross country flights. For the rest of the world I'm happy with streaming. An hybrid system would be awesome.
Id much prefer to download a few 100gb worth of a game without relying on internet. Thats the whole point of a sim. Its not supposed to be a streamed game.
This makes the game almost unplayable in so many places in the world. Like in Australia I’m lucky if I get 10mbps. So even with a good pc I’m basically stuck on low end for everything just so I can pull 30fps on this dumb game.
I'd like to have a hydrid system. Either it downloads whenever you fly or you select what you wanna download. I guess we all have favorite place we fly regularly and other places once in a while. This way would save energy consumption and allow flying without or low internet connections.
Time to upgrade your dial up to a T1 line, lol. Seriously though, ETHERNET hardwire connection will always be faster and more stable than wireless. I would highly recommend using hardwire ethernet cable (verify what version cord you have) and connect directly to the back of your modem/router in spot 1. FYI, Im on a 2 year promotion $25 month for Xfinity 300Mbps so yes it can be affordable and doesn't require extra modem rental fee.
yea I use hardwire internet and yea it works great, this was just a test when there is 0 internet so I turned it off and unplugged my ethernet for the demo
Personally I run an ethernet network straight from the fiber modem. I always believed that hardwire was without a doubt faster than Wi-Fi, but the newest 802.11AX protocols seems to have surpassed the common gigabit ethernet setups. You can't just make that blanket statement any more. Faster switches have started showing up but doubtful most people are running those.
For anyone that missed the Dev stream. You will be able to download your most used or preferred aircraft to your PC as well as certain airports and regions. I forgot what the exact number was but the devs said if you had to download all of 24 it would be around 200,000TB
I would rather buy a home rack mounted disc array, than rely on my ISP... Both me, and them would be very happy without huge transfers daily... Maybe someone will do scripting and we could have our own server, that mimics the Microsofts in our lab - I rather download big data like once a week? I'm happy with multiplayer and live weather stuff to connect outside, rest - Keep it localnetwork...
I know a lot of people that will not buy 2024 simply because you can NOT fly without internet. I have not purchased it yet and am on the fence about it myself. If they would offer the option to do a full download, I would have already bought it. It's hard to pay $100 bucks for something that you HAVE to rely on something else (internet) to play. I simply can't justify a purchase like that for entertainment.
@@aldegeil9207 to my knowledge there’s no option to download that stuff, especially because you can’t even get in the game. I wish there was an option where you could
It's Megabits per second, and they're basically saying you need a fiber connection to play above minimum spec.
@@ThomasAnderson-d6m that’s so crazy to me
You definitely do not need fiber, A basic wifi connection should be suitable. This isn't 1970 anymore 100 megabits per second is nothing.
@@liftedcj7on44s Haha maybe in certain countries! I live in Australia and I am lucky to get 90 mbps
@@Sporty12boy Tell Australia to catch up with the rest of the world.

Why it isn’t an option to download what you want is baffling

If internet drops.....play the MSFS 2020
I don't play it with Wifi at all, I have a hard wired connection.
Can I download a Citi or an another Terrain in Msfs 2024?
