Ac couple notes, the shore from the boat house to Trout Cove are definitely good spots, but they are facing right into the rising sun and can be really hot even in the fall. Also, I've traditionally parked at the chamber of commerce lot for years and never knew it was a pay lot, I've never paid a dime. My last trip up I started there, caught one fish and moved to the opposite shore and parked to the left off a side street. From there it was easy access and had some shade.
While the air temperature in that stretch of shore might be warm because of the way it faces... The water temperatures are a fairly cool in that area because it is a very quick drop off to deep water. And the location of The only pinch point of the lake which is causing lots of water current exchange between the two main pools. This is good for action. Appreciate the comment.
Grew up in Crestline. There was a local fisherman named Maynard. I recall when we were kids he would have some big bass he caught and he would sell homemade fly's and lures He was cool. Head he got hit by a car and killed. They even use to have an ice skating rink on the other side of the lake near the clubhouse. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video. I’m heading up this weekend to float tube. Any advice and where to park and fish with a float tube? I’d like to park close to where ill be fishing so I can feel my legs after 😂
Cachuma is a great lake. Been a while since I've fished it... (so many lakes I prefer over it.) Unless it's near the time frame of a plant, I recommend getting a boat there to troll for the fish. Good luck on your trip!
Are there any nearby lakes you’d recommend that have private plants? I really liked this lake for that but like you said, they haven’t been producing as well the past couple years.
They've increased their plants lately. They just put one in 2 days ago. That was a private plant. As far as recommendations, it depends on where you live and how far you're willing to drive.
Anywhere in SoCal area would be nice but I don’t mind going to places you go (Owen’s, Diaz, etc) as long as it’s worth it. I’d go to basically most places you’d go just to have fun fishing, but make it worth while, if that makes sense.
Still, probably better safe than sorry. By the way this is possibly the best/most detailed video out there on fishing Gregory. Big help for sure. Have you done one on Big Bear?
I have not done the updated version for Big Bear yet but there is a video on my channel about Big Bear... Search it by searching on TH-cam for where to fish Big Bear.
I grew up in Highland, and would go to this lake during the summer with the neighbor kids, what great memories.

Great info as always! Was curious if you had heard anything about smallmouth bass being in Gregory since Arrowhead and Big Bear have a few.
I have not heard of any smallmouth in the lake but I do know they have some really nice sized largemouth that nobody targets.
Pretty cool lake, thanks for sharing!
Nice footage and lots of good intel.
Thanks for the information. Very well done. Appreciate it

Thanks for the detailed info. Much appreciated.
One of those trees holds a mess load of crappie…. I enjoy fishing that spot 😊.
Thanks for the information. Fish it a long time ago. Maybe this year I will stop on my way to Crowley lake.
It's not exactly convenient to go through there, but it can be a great fishing spot regardless of when you decide to go.
Where do they actually plant the fish? By the boat house??
Great info as always. Much appreciated! 👍
Yep, at the boat house 👈
Thanks for the video, can you tell me the best location to launch a large tandem kayak? Thanks
Either the main boat ramp or the east boat ramp.
Thanks but where are they? I called up there and was told they did not have a ramp but the easiest place to launch was at the San Moritz lodge?

I talk about it in the video!! Good luck on your trip!
Have you ever been to lake cachuma? I'm about to take a trip up there this weekend and want to ask if you have any tips for that lake. Thanks!

Really glad I watched this. I park at the chamber of commerce every time I go and I’ve never paid, I thought it was free😬 haha oops! Thanks for info!
I really don't think they're enforcing it.

How is the wayer clarity? Looks kinda murky in the drone shots.
It was stained.... But mostly clear
Hi do you know where I can Launch my small boat on a trailer that I paddle.?
In the area described in this video as the old baseball diamond
Fun Fact about Lake G: it has a particular non centrarchid fish loose there...
Any bass in there?
Definitely. Rarely fished for
I bet there's un pressured lunker bass in there. I appreciate the recon you provide.@@TroutWest
Flote tube? Is it ok
You can tube gregory
Boat house #1 by the fence. Make sure on stocking days you get there at 4am. TH-camrs and locals think they own the lake and won't let you fish.
🙄
So I can park all down LAKE DRIve FOR FREE RIGHT?
Any public roads are fair game as long as it's legal to park there by state and city codes. Lake doesn't own the roads.
what happemed to the swim area
Theres still a swim area
There are a lot of drugies trying to scam fishermen for money, be sure who you’re talking to .
