This is exactly on my street. Shady Grove Road.🤣 I have a black 2015 Genesis 5.0 that I purchased in 2021. I traded in my 2013 Lexus GS 350 and I don't regret it. I absolutely love my Genesis. I get so many compliments from door dashers, random people in parking lots, and people from the Shady Grove Recycling facility. Mine is presential black. One of my favorite things to do is when I am preparing to turn, I downshift to low gear to bring the RPMs up to 3,000 (preferably) and power through the turn. Should try it next time you drive this baby. Funny because I drive by the Carmax practically every day, and never stop to check your inventory. I don't even know why I am excited to see my city and car in this video.

Great review, I have the 2018 G80 sport 3.3tt and I got 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds without launch, I went with the 3.3tt because of different front bumper and carbon fiber interior.
@@DMCarReviews must admit, these g90's have a very unique, and high classed styling unlike alot of its competitors...still tho, it would be nice if genesis offered a turbocharged 3.3t or 3.5t for g90's because what people don't realize is that these vehicles are darn near 4,900 pounds which is heavier than many compact trucks...i own a 12-14 rspec and feel as if the 430 hp, and the 4200 curb weight is a good mix but since hyundai never upgraded the 5.0 to produce more power (at least 480hp crank), i feel as if the newer g90's are much too heavy for the power output...of course tho, any turbocharged vehicle can easily be tuned into an utter jet...
13.3s in 1/4 qtr mile @ 107.5 with 4,600 lbs is nothing to sneeze at! This thing gives the Lexus GSF a run for its money and with more luxury and comfort to boot. Mind you, the GSF is 600lbs lighter than this thing, so this 5.0L definitely had potential if fitted into a G70 or Stinger. A shame that didn't happen. Would've been the perfect ISF killer!
Liked your review and agree with your assessment. Took delivery of a new 2020 G80 5.0 AWD Ultimate package (AWD was available with the 5.0 V8 in Canada) back in March, 2020. Just before the virus hit. Have not yet taken the long road trips in this car that I had hoped for, but am VERY SATISFIED with it so far. Only 41,000 kilometers (25,000 miles) on the car to date. This V8 (on premium gas) in SPORT MODE is quite impressive. Even in NORMAL mode. For public roads and highways, 420 HP is more than enough. Even though this is a big girl at 4,700 pounds. Gotta watch the speed on the HIGHWAY.....very easy to blow well past 90 mph, just passing traffic......
hyundai genesis 5.0 r-spec probably pulls better since its actually probably 1 of the most lightiest luxury sedans and 1 of the most underrated cars in existence for the price, year and performance
Not a day goes by that I don't think about what could have been had I held out a bit and gotten a 5.0 Genesis...preferably with AWD but I wouldn't have complained. I was just nervous because I was coming off of a Sonata that was under that nightmare of a time with the 4 cylinders blowing up...my faith in Hyundai was just shaky enough to have me miss out on such a handsome car. Damn. I also wasn't really trying to mess with premium gas either so there's that.
Thank you for watching! I actually liked both, but overall I think the G80 5.0 is a more comfortable car to take on trips, whereas as the Q50 is more sporty.
I’m new to the the mod car community and my friend has a stinger. I’ve always loved the genesis and their classy luxury. I’m looking for a project car, more so been locked in on a g70 3.3 which is pricey for a project car. The 2018 5.0s are good price run with decent mileage. What do you think 😅
I will say from experience. The vehicle did feel quicker when you have less than a 1/2 of fuel in reserve. I'm not saying it turns the car into a Corvette; however, it sure felt quicker off the line at 1/4 of a tank just as you mentioned. The same thing can be said for the G80 5.0 AWD as well.

After watching this video, I am torn! This car and a 2016 Audi S8 are about the same price $45-$50K. Which would you buy considering you test drove both? I know the Audi would need some regularly scheduled maintenance to run and be reliable (even though they say the 2015-2018 V8s are quite reliable) and the Genesis would literally be a beater but in a very luxurious way. If you had the $50K, which one are you buying to go 100k-120k miles?
If I was looking at this class, and had 50K to spend, I would get a 2020 BMW 750i xDrive. Out of the two you mentioned, the S8 is a much more superior car.
I own a '12 R-Spec 5.0 and I would take the S8. The Audi is better handling at high speeds. I've been up to 140 and I was a bit terrified lol. It's got more in it but I don't have the highway stretch to really find out. Too much traffic in the Nashville area and I'm not gonna endanger others.

You can find "hanging gas pedal" on Audis too, not only in asian cars. And there are A LOT of asian cars with floor mounted gas pedal. I don't think this means the car is "more premium".
