Your videos are great. We are going to Vietnam next month and I booked our hotel in Saigon before I watched this video. We booked a room at the Myst Dong Khoi. You did not recommend this hotel, so I hope we made the right choice.
Hi - thanks for watching. The Myst is a great choice! That will be featured in my upcoming boutique hotels video in the near future. Enjoy your visit to Saigon!
I'm ur new subscriber and am going to HCMC next month.I intend to enjoy the night live and intend to stay at a hotel which has massage services.Care to let me know which hotel.Tq
Thank you so much for your information! What do you think of the location and value of M City Hotel Saigon by Ben Thanh Market? I was able to secure a deluxe room with breakfast for USD70 per night. Another one is M Village Tôn Thất Đạm for USD 40 but no window. Any better suggestions for midrange?
I haven't visited this hotel but it's in a good location. It's more of a budget hotel so don't expect too much if you're just looking for a place to sleep.
@@Ruetendom While we wait for Thuy’s review of this hotel, I found this th-cam.com/video/s-yxpisUUIo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2Vk2UsQ9C1h1P80_ from another Vietnamese American. She’s speaking Vietnamese throughout the video so you will need to turn on CC and translate to English. Very detailed. Hope this helps. I’m still concerned that it seems to be “not walking distance” from main attractions in District 1 such as Nguyen Hue Walking Street, etc… We would have to take Grab.
@@LTinSoCal oh my that’s exactly what I am concerned about too. Every time I think about booking it I have to stop in m tracks because it just seems so far 🥲🥲 let me watch this video and decide. Thank you so much.
@Ruetendom @LTinSoCal If walking-distance is a concern then it's probably not your choice. The closest attraction in walking distance would be Tan Dinh Market and the Pink church. Otherwise, if you don't mind taking a Grab taxi or bike, that's ok too though there's rush hour traffic in the morning and evening. The biggest benefit is you save 15min going to the airport. Hope this helps!
Will be visiting HMC next month. I will be staying at the Park Hyatt the last few days of my trip. What other district do you recommend that is walkable for good food and shopping?
Hi - walkable from Park Hyatt you can try Tan Dinh district which is where the pink church is - there are a lot of good food around there. Depending on what you’re shopping for - downtown area and Ben Thanh is probably the most convenient for souvenir shopping. Hope this helps!

Thanks Em. I am married to lovely Viet American lady and her name is Thuy too! We are thinking of moving to D7 Phy My Hung for a whole year in 2025. My kids will attend Saigon South. I wanted to live in D2 but my wife's family in Saigon says it floods there. D7 or D2? What do you recommend? Budget is no issue - I want to live like a king in Saigon.
That will be a good experience living in Vietnam for a whole year! Yes it does flood in D2 and because the streets are narrow and lots of cars there - there tends to be heavy traffic during rush hour as well. D2 is more of a western expat hub while D7 is more Asian expats like Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese though many locals live there as well. It’s more modern so streets are wider and less likely to experience flooding. The downside is going to D1 can be a headache due to traffic. Both these areas have everything you need so you don’t really have to leave the area. Hope this helps!
Hotels are very cheap at Pham Ngu Lao street. You can walk to Bui Vien night road or Metro Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien. Sunny Hotel is only 14 USD/ one day.
Thank you so much for your good information. Your style of speaking English is also good. I am from Manipur a state in the north eastern part of India

Cảm ơn Chị. Có lẽ mình sẽ về VN tháng 6 năm 2025 và muốn ở hotel ở đường Thi Sách. Chị recommend Hotel nào ở đường Thi Sách? Xin cảm ơn trước. XOXO
Cảm ơn bạn đã quan tâm về video này. Có vài khách sạn trên đường Thi Sách đã giới thiệu trong video như khách sạn Silverland cũng ok lắm.

Hi Thuy. Great video. Recently, I’ve heard a lot about La Vela Saigon hotel. Have you reviewed it? Do you think it’s far from city center?
@LTinSoCal Thanks for watching! La Vela is actually featured in my next video! It’s not ‘downtown’ - location is between airport and city center.
I’m about to book this accommodation I would love to hear your thoughts please 🥹

I do have to laugh when i hear someone use the word EXPERT , considering there is no such thing then it is LAUGHABLE ..
I have worked in the travel industry for over 20 years in Vietnam so I guess that doesn’t qualify as an expert. 😭
