Great vid! Do all these hotels have elevators?
Hi - thanks for watching. Yes all the hotels featured have elevators. Most hotels have elevators if it’s more than 3 floors.
Awesome reviews and tips that focused on the info many of us have on our minds where consider to stay in Saigon Vietnam of various available hotels, and stays, agreed location everything ❤, many thanks for do this, cheers 👍
Thank you watching and sharing your feedback. I’m glad to hear that the information was useful which is the aim of my channel. Though there is still a lot more topics to cover which I plan to do over a period of time.
It’s Hanoi or Hanoi’s ???? !!!!
Hanoi’s Old Quarter or Hanoi, the city. One is a possessive noun that’s why it’s ‘Hanoi’s’
Great information thanks
Thanks for watching and glad to know the information was useful!
We are heading to Vietnam next may. First stop is Hanoi and we will most likely stay in the old quarter. Thanks for sharing your information with us.😊
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your stay in Hanoi - you'll love it!

Links to the hotels featured in this video are in the description below.
Thank you so much for this video 👍😊😍
Hi - thanks for watching. Hope you found the information useful!
Are you familiar with the SoHo central residence city view? What’s your opinion on this site? Thank you for your time
Hi - I'm not familiar with this property though some of the reviews aren't so great. If you're looking for apartment accommodations which are professionally managed - there's the Oakwood Residence and Sedona Suites. Of course it will cost more but it's a higher level of service and quality! If you're looking more of a neighborhood stay, you may want to consider places in District 3.
Thanks Em. I am married to lovely Viet American lady and her name is Thuy too! We are thinking of moving to D7 Phy My Hung for a whole year in 2025. My kids will attend Saigon South. I wanted to live in D2 but my wife's family in Saigon says it floods there. D7 or D2? What do you recommend? Budget is no issue - I want to live like a king in Saigon.
That will be a good experience living in Vietnam for a whole year! Yes it does flood in D2 and because the streets are narrow and lots of cars there - there tends to be heavy traffic during rush hour as well. D2 is more of a western expat hub while D7 is more Asian expats like Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese though many locals live there as well. It’s more modern so streets are wider and less likely to experience flooding. The downside is going to D1 can be a headache due to traffic. Both these areas have everything you need so you don’t really have to leave the area. Hope this helps!
Thank you for a very informative video.😊
Thanks for watching! Glad you found the video useful!
r u a travel agent? I love your clear and warm voice. Your comment is impartial and professional. You introduced a lot more choices that I have never known their existence even though I have been in Hanoi 4 times. If u r an agent, do you mind helping me picking a hotel that runs from$USD 80 to $USD 100 for a solo old lady.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate your feedback! My videos are meant to be informative which is why I try to stay impartial! My follow up video will be out in a week with four hotel suggestions that might be suitable for you. So I hope you can wait and watch that! With your budget you have quite a lot of options to choose from in the Old Quarter. 👍
Great video but hotels reviewed are way too expensive for "old quarter" you pay the same for new Western brand hotels on the Westlake area. It would be nice if you review a more down to earth (3-4 stars) hotels that are practical $50 - $75/night are Saigon's prices. A Landmark71 Condo is only $50/night there. Please do a part 3 for the said category.
Hi - thanks for watching. Actually if you check prices on Agoda and depending on time of year you're traveling - most of the hotels mentioned are in the price range you mentioned with exception of the Peridot. I spend on average about $65 per night in Hanoi. I'm currently working on Hanoi hotel Part 3 video coming out soon!
@@traveleatvietnam Not really, if you change the price filter on Agoda to $50, you'll get the 3 -4 stars in Oldtown, ex.. the Hanoi memory central $33/night. The other thing is, most expats who are visiting Vietnam are not looking for the 5 stars over price "FOO-FOO" rooms which are normal here in the States(most are free in Vegas). So we(I) would rather pay around $35- 50/day for lodging, i spent most of the day outside. My last trip I didn't even care if the place have a pool or gym. What I value are location...location, quality of the breakfast buffet, cleanliness of the room, lock box for valuables, safety and security, those are my priorities when I look for in a room. Coming back for another 2 months trip in Feb/2025, recently retired so time is on my side. Staying and Vinhome in Saigon because of the value ($40/night0) for a full service condo, this is what I'm talking about.. the price point is key, looking to stay a whole week in Hanoi, a city I never been to. I applaud you for the effort, but do look into my suggestion, we rather spend the money on food, stuff and not the room, perhaps you migh venture into reviewing food joints, local haunts and things to do. Keep up the great work, who knows, I might run into you in Hanoi.
My hometown. I love Saigon.
Could you help me find a hotel with a good view of the New Year's fireworks?
Hi - all the hotels mentioned in this video have good views of fireworks.
Thank you.
What's up with the audio?
Do u know if they have airport transfer? Thank you.
Yes they do - most hotels offer airport transfer.
How about Sunrise Central Hotel? Cant find youtube videos about the hotel hehe
I haven't visited this hotel but it's in a good location. It's more of a budget hotel so don't expect too much if you're just looking for a place to sleep.
Do u speak Vietnamese?
Such great information. Thank you so much. I'm just wondering if you would know about Visas. We're going mid November and are flying into Hanoi but will head to Changmai and from Changmai, we want to fly to Saigon so a different entry point. Any information would be greatful. Thanks so much.
Hi - glad you found the information useful. If you are going into Vietnam then to Thailand and returning back to Vietnam you’ll need a multiple entry visa. It doesn’t matter where you enter or exit Vietnam as long as you have a valid visa.
A cool feature is that when you open the sliding glass door in either room, the air-conditioning turns off. I think it’s either the third or fourth pool down that is slightly heated. Midway down you can catch the steam room and connected sauna room. And the very bottom pool that has a great view of the ocean but also has a swim up bar. That rubbery watch is also designed to pay your tab at the bar instead of cash. The villa with the pool is the way to go for family.
I watch Leon the lobster. The lobster, and owner, are quite a phenomenon. Anyway your musical intro is just like Leon‘s. Just wanted to point it out! I have been there with family in both the tower and the villas and it is awesome! Our first visit was January 2020.
Thank u for sharing 🎉❤
I do have to laugh when i hear someone use the word EXPERT , considering there is no such thing then it is LAUGHABLE ..
I have worked in the travel industry for over 20 years in Vietnam so I guess that doesn’t qualify as an expert. 😭
@@traveleatvietnam You have a very high opinion of yourself , eh , pretentious , conceited but wrong ,.. let me reiterate .. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN EXPERT , it means someone that knows absolutely everything there is to know about a particular subject , let me give you an example , so you can get your big head around the concept . a wine connoisseur could know lots of info about a particular wine , its vintage , the chateau , the winery its from & all its history but if he/she doesn't know what materials the cork is made of or the PH of the soil that the vines grew in then that person could never be called an expert because an expert knows EVERYTHING regarding that subject & considering things are constantly changing & evolving then its IMPOSSIBLE to be one ,sabes whether you have had 20 or 50 years of experience of whatever you claim to do then until you know it all please be quiet & dont be so up your own ass ...
Planning a trip to Hanoi soon. Can you suggest vegetarian and vegan restaurants? And vegetarian dishes that we should try and eat. Thanks
You can try Uu Dam Chay and Vejo vegan restaurants in Hanoi.
Nice Video and got much information Coming Hanoi on 19th October so may be I need some questions
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your visit to Hanoi!
I plan to travel to Vietnam in Mar 25 with my wife and 9 year old daughter. What hotels would you suggest? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching. There are many options depending on your budget. Since there are 3 of you - make sure you take a look at room size since some hotels have very small rooms. You can watch my latest video on best locations in the Old Quarter which has a tour inside 5 hotels.
Will be visiting HMC next month. I will be staying at the Park Hyatt the last few days of my trip. What other district do you recommend that is walkable for good food and shopping?
Hi - walkable from Park Hyatt you can try Tan Dinh district which is where the pink church is - there are a lot of good food around there. Depending on what you’re shopping for - downtown area and Ben Thanh is probably the most convenient for souvenir shopping. Hope this helps!
i'm visiting in Nov, should i have any reservations about eating street food? I'm coming from NYC
Vietnam is known for its street food so it’s something you don’t want to miss out on! Hot food like noodle soups are pretty safe. It’s the veggies and herbs you need to be careful - depending on whether you’re eating out on the streetside or inside an eatery. Places where there’s lots of customers means there’s a quick turn around on food so it’s not sitting there stale and growing bacteria. Best advice is to use common sense when selecting where and what to eat!
Fantastic video! We’re coming here in May 2025 and these hotels look fabulous. Definitely will be doing more research on them 😊Thank you!
Glad the video was useful. Hope to do another follow up video soon!
I havent been La Vela hotel, thanks for sharing❤
thank you. very informative
Thanks for watching and glad to know you found the information useful!
Very informative
Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful!
I love your videos! Please keep posting. I am going to Saigon for my first time in December and your videos are so informative. I’m even more excited!
Thanks for watching. Glad to hear you enjoy my videos and find it useful. You will have a blast in Saigon!
Love your vlogs, you present it professionally. Please let me know what the status and condition now for travelling to Vietnam from Saigon to Danang to Hanoi especially with transportation, air and land. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and appreciate your feedback. Transportation services is operating normal except to Sapa and Ha Giang which I wouldn't recommend. For more details, please read my latest post update on the post-typhoon situation in the north. Hope that helps.
@@traveleatvietnam Thank you so much! Please continue your vlogs as these are very helpful for travellers to Vietnam. Subject matters as recent Visa application procedures, proper etiquette, trusted tour guides, basic way to address vendors and people you meet for the first time and of course, areas to explore. Again, thank you 🥰
We stayed at Liberty Central Riverside in June 2024 and your review of this hotel is spot-on. Much appreciation for your detailed reviews of other hotels. Btw, your narration is professional and pleasing to the ears...if lacing with few humorous tidbits, your review would be comparable to Anthony Bourdain's.
Hi - thanks for watching! Really appreciate your comment, especially about the narration since I do put a lot of effort in making sure it's not boring to listen to yet factual.
Thanks much Thuy!
Hope this video helps you with your decision about La Vela. My previous video on best locations is a pretty good guide if you're looking for walking distance which unfortunately La Vela doesn't fall into! You can always buy a pass to their pool or have a meal or drinks there if you want to experience the view without having to stay here!
@@traveleatvietnam It does really help me to cross off La Vela on my list and consider one of the other hotels. Suffice it to say I won’t be schlepping all the way from D1 and shelling out $$ to just hang out at their pool. On related note, what do you think of Lotte hotel? When I stayed at Le Meridien last year, I kept walking past it every day and wonder if it’s worth a stay next time.
@@LTinSoCal Lotte Hotel is one of the older hotels in the city. I haven't been there in awhile so don't know if they've done any renovations. It's more set back from the street so for river views - it would be a little more distant. I'm not a big fan of hotels on Ton Duc Thang St since I find getting around by taxi or bike a nuisance with the constant traffic. I would suggest Thi Sach area and any hotels managed by Silverland.
@@traveleatvietnam Good point Thúy. I actually have stayed at one of the hotels on Thi Sách street about 10 years ago. I think it’s changed ownership and now called Paragon Saigon. Not any view to speak of but the area is very quiet and tranquil despite being so close to the ‘infamous’ Japantown Saigon. Looks like there are more 4-star(?) hotels in that area now. I’ll check out their reviews online. But so far, your insights from a Vietnamese American perspective is what I resonate with and truly appreciate.
Glad my insights are helpful! As a travel professional - my advice and insights are to assist travelers with their travel planning. But also offering a perspective from an international traveler’s expectations.
Have stayed at the palace Hotel a couple of times, great place to stay.
Thank you
superb info that you give nobody gives such info
i prefer franchise hotels as they have to maintain a certain level ,what would you recommend for about 70 usd a night ?
Peridot is stunning my type of hotel and not badly priced if you think what you pay else where in the world
the premium hotel with the window behind the bed is a no no for me i want a dark room to sleep in
i can not do no windows it feels like i will suffocate in it ,i want hotel groups rather then these small type hotels
superb video and so well spoken ,i need your advise I am single and want to experience the warmer season not the wet season
Hi - thanks for watching. The dry season is different for the different regions of Vietnam. To be safe, the best time for little rain would be from April - June for most of Vietnam.
@@traveleatvietnam thanks I wanted to travel to in the next month or to to explore Vietnam and De Nang
hi, I'm going to Hanoi on December 24 through 29. I love the MK hotel but im looking for a cheaper deal for solo travelers. What do you recommend Hi, I'll be in Hanoi from December 24th to 29th. I really enjoy the MK hotel but I'm searching for a more affordable option for solo travelers. What do you recommend?
Hi - thanks for watching. The time you'll be in Hanoi is peak travel season during the holiday period so prices tend to be higher and rooms more limited. I haven't stayed at this hotel, but based on what I see on Agoda and their location, it looks like a good potential budget hotel for about 800k vnd per night (about $35USD).
