Thank you Jimmy. I guess I’d have to wonder if a converted person could possibly have the heart attitude of “I don’t care”, or if so, it would seem short lived. As for myself, even in my most off the rail moments as a Christian I’ve never had a “I don’t care” attitude. More along the lines of “Help I’m in big trouble!” It sounds like he is referring to Christians though. It seems hard to believe a converted person could get to the point of “I just don’t really care anymore” in their heart. I do appreciate your explanation and it does help. The scriptures can be so puzzling sometimes. Thanks for all you guys do. I appreciate your work.
It is when a fully committed believer that is filled with the Holy Spirit and walks with Jesus willfully turns their back on Him. When they say “I don’t want Him anymore.” This is what Jesus Himself told Kenneth Hagin in a vision recounted in his book “I Believe in Visions.” Jesus gave him other scripture references to help explain. I do still have a hard time with him saying don’t pray for them. That’s tough for me to understand.
I've been thinking about that last part too and you know what, I think I get it. If someone willingly and wholeheartedly denies Jesus, we all have the gift of free will so God will not force himself upon anyone. That would go against his gift to us of free will. So there is no point praying for that person. But if a person has chosen to pursue God, pray for them because those are the people God will 'prune' in his vine so that they bear more fruit, and he will cleanse them from unrighteousness. I could be wrong, just what I think
@@chisha8415 I agree. I’m hoping the total renouncing of Him after fully knowing Him is rare. It makes me super sad to think of that. It’s not like we lose our salvation every time we sin which is unfortunately what many people have been deceived by the devil especially in “religion” into believing. We have to remember there is now no condemnation in Christ. He alone knows our hearts. ❤️ His will is for all of us to be saved and I believe He looks for every legal loophole to do just that - but He can’t or won’t violate His own laws. He wouldn’t be just. God bless you !
Thanks for this response. What troubles me most about the passage is that it seems to say we shouldn't bother to pray for someone living in sin leading to death. But aren't we called to pray for hearts to become repentant and for people to experience salvation? Surely those aren't vain prayers as those are the prayers that seem most important to pray. Any insight you have in this would be appreciated
Thank you 🙏 I am very sensitive as well and seem to stay in a constant state of being sorry- but Jesus continues to deliver me through my insecurities ❤
The Word reminds us that the Holy Spirit living within us is our teacher a couple chapters back in 1 John; my immediate understanding of this was that the sin that leads to death is unbelief & willingly living in sin while having the full knowledge of God.
Great explanation. I don't believe a true believer in Jesus Christ is able to commit this sin. Acts 16:31 says "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved - you and your household". If we believe in Him, we are saved. There is nothing more to it. Therefore this sin can only be committed by not believing
Perfect answer. I'm pretty sure that I'm on my way to hell when I hear this. And to see that people are told to not even to pray for me makes me even more desperate. Ever since I was a young teenager the cross didn't mean anything to me and I've never felt remorse about my sins. I think I'm a covert narcissist. (I don't love for others, I can't take criticism or anything that is even close to it, I'm always proud, but at the same time deeply insecure). I know in my mind that I've committed sins, but I don't feel bad about them. It's like my pride is too big. I guess I want to be perfect so that I don't need Jesus. I know I'm in danger. The only thing that gives me some hope is that I haven't hardened my heart over the years. I know that I've always been this way.
Thank you so much for explaining this. I listen to Elvis, JD and the Stamps singing the song I, John and where John was told to write what he sees in a book, talking about the Bible of course.
Hi, I always thought this scripture was about the sin that leads to ‘physical death’ in a Christian who keeps doing a sin that is in disobedience to God, such as the sin of Moses the man of God, the sin that finally led God to take him home (death) and God would not listen to prayers for mercy about it anymore… this makes more sense to me, BUT it depends on what kind of death this reference means. Is it spiritual or physical death ?? Now I’m not sure 😢 maybe a look into the Greek meaning of the word used for ‘death’ in this passage? Just a thought.
John 1:29.. the sin of the world. 2Peter 2:4..angels who sinned. These are very difficult scriptures to understand and relate to the Scripture, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...
The corn. This is the sin that leads to death. Matthew 12:31. Blaspheme against the holy ghost. First note a Christian cannot blaspheme against the holy ghost, because Christians do not know the Holy Ghost, like that. The only way you can blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, is in the dispensation of the spirit of truth. And if you blaspheme against the spirit of truth, you blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, because The Spirit Of Truth, is the eyes of the Holy Ghost, which is an extension of the mind of God, made manifest in the flesh.
Pastor Jimmy. Could you please answer the question, you were asked.????? Could you please use the scriptures, AND NOT YOUR OPINION!!!! where In the scriptures, explain this. Jusus use the scruptures, The apostles use the scriptures, so could you please use the scriptures!????
My Beloved friends 1 John 5:16 All sin is sin but there is a sin Unto death I'd have you not ask of this. Not abiding in love as commanded in Mark 12:29-31 the Royal Supreme Command the Love to Jeremiah 7 tells us that God don't hear prayers from the abortionist idolaters and oppressor nor there intercessors prayers are heard of by God for they never repented Jeremiah 7 tells us. The Lord told me to quit praying for my own sibling brother a Narcissist who is like Phaoroah the hard heart oppressor and idolaters along with the Democratic Believer's the abortionist, no oil or relationship with Christ 1 John 4. I'm of the tribe of Simeon
I'm wondering.. is there any hope for me at all? I'm sure I'm a covert narcissist. When I look at my own life I know in my mind that I need Jesus. But my heart says no. I don't have remorse, I don't love others, I fear criticism because it's like dying. I think my faith has always been like the faith of demons that James speaks of in James 2. I'm never grateful, I'm never interested in others, I've never had empathy.
The corn. I John 5:21 little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. The little children are not Christians, they are the little ones, some of them were Christians at one time, these are the wise virgins, that overcame the dispensation of grace, that is a part of the 144,000, but now are in the dispensation of the spirit of truth.
1 John wasn't written for the Body of Christ. Peter, James, John, and Jude wrote for Jews awaiting Messiah. The gospel of the kingdom was still being preached throughout Acts. Even Paul preached it until God set aside his covenant wth Israel and instituted the Body of Christ. Then Christ gave Paul all revelation regarding the new entity He created--Jew and Gentile in one body, a mystery no one in the OT wrote about because it was hidden.
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Read Mathew Chapter 25 and forget about "saved by faith alone" and "once saved always saved." The Catholic (and Orthodox) Church is the only Church that follows the entire Bible. Christ love you all! Fr. Dave
@Killin Sparker My beloved brother in Christ, Catholics worship God alone - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Catholics are saved only by the Cross, death, and resurrection of Christ in whose name alone we are saved. Catholics love Mary but she is not divine and does not save us. Only Christ Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, saves us. I hope this helps. Christ love you brother! Your brother in Christ! Fr. Dave
@Killin Sparker What we fail to do for the least of Christ's brothers we fail to do for Jesus Christ himself (Mathew 25:43). Catholics are saved ONLY by the Lord Jesus Christ who was foretold by the prophets, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born in Bethlehem of the Virgin Mary, Crucified under Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem, risen from the dead on the third day, who sits as eternal High Priest at the right hand of the Father, who will judge the living and the dead, and in whose name alone we have forgiveness of sins. Catholics do not worship Mary or any other god or goddess because there is no god besides God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Whoever told you otherwise has born false witness against his neighbor. The Catholic Church is the only Church that follows the ENTIRE Bible and it is very easy to prove. However, Orthodox Christians also follow the Bible very closely. Your brother in Christ, Fr. Dave
@Killin Sparker Brother, can you name any official Catholic teachings that are unbiblical? I mean something the Catholic Church actually teaches - not what Non-Catholics claim we teach? Christ love you! Fr. Dave
@Killin Sparker Can you find an official Catholic teaching (not a Protestant accusation) saying Catholics worship a goddess? Feel free to consult your Protestant pastor on this. Fr. Dave Fr. Dave

No. A believer commits this sin if they willfully renounce Jesus.

Could the sin that leads to death be suicide ? The word " sin" is singular, so it's one particular sin.
