I think the key is that those who come up to Jesus are bringing their WORKS to Jesus ("Jesus, look at what we did in your name!"). No amount of our works, even if "done in Jesus' name" can merit us eternal life.

I agree. This clearly were unbelievers who thought they had been saved through their good works. They had not done the will of the father. And what is the will of the father, "that anyone who looks to the son and believes in him has eternal life"-John 6:39-40. simply belief.

@@DamirVidovic-pf2pk so at some point you need to turn from trusting in Christ to trusting in your good works ?
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

@endtimesareuponus8930 I'm pretty sure he said "Otherwise the person isn't saved". I could agree with your statement if he had said "otherwise the person MIGHT not be saved"
We can KNOW that we have eternal life, and it is not based on OUR performance, it is based on Christ. We CAN'T know that we're not saved based on OUR poor performance in the flesh.
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

@endtimesareuponus8930 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Yes. It says "should" not "unless you walk in them you lose your salvation"
And the verses that follow show that it's all about Christ.
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
      14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
      15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

@@OYE1272 Nope. That's incorrect. No one comes to the Son of God except he that is led by God the Father. And if he that is led by the Father to the Son believes in/upon the Son THEN that person is given the Holy Spirit and is from that moment forward, born again unto eternal life, having been marked/sealed unto the day of redemption by the Spirit.
      Acts 10:44
44 "Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. 45 The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too."
That's just one example. There are many others. To be born again is to be born of the Spirit and one does not have the Spirit before being born again because being given the Holy Spirit is what makes you born again.

@@henrka Once saved always saved is heresy. The Calvinist doctrine is called the perseverance of the saints. That means that grace is not a license to sin. In fact, hypocrites have false assurance. Assurance must be attained after conversion.
The self righteous refuse to repent.
These good works, done in obedience to God's commandments, are the fruits and evidences of a true and lively faith: and by them believers manifest their thankfulness, strengthen their assurance, edify their brethren, adorn the profession of the Gospel, stop the mouths of the adversaries, and glorify God, whose workmanship they are, created in Christ Jesus thereunto; that, having their fruit unto holiness, they may have the end eternal life. Although hypocrites and other unregenerate men may vainly deceive themselves with false hopes and carnal presumptions of being in the favour of God, and estate of salvation; which hope of theirs shall perish; yet such as truly believe in the Lord Jesus, and love Him in sincerity, endeavouring to walk in all good conscience before Him, may, in this life, be certainly assured that they are in the state of grace, and may rejoice in the hope of the glory of God; which hope shall never make them ashamed. 2 This certainty is not a bare conjectural and probable persuasion, grounded upon a fallible hope; but an infallible assurance of faith, founded upon the divine truth of the promises of salvation, the inward evidence of those graces unto which these promises are made, the testimony of the Spirit of adoption witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God: which Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance, whereby we are sealed to the day of redemption. 3 This infallible assurance doth not so belong to the essence of faith, but that a true believer may wait long, and conflict with many difficulties, before he be partaker of it: yet, being enabled by the Spirit to know the things which are freely given him of God, he may, without extraordinary revelation, in the right use of ordinary means, attain thereunto. And therefore it is the duty of everyone to give all diligence to make his calling and election sure; that thereby his heart may be enlarged in peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, in love and thankfulness to God, and in strength and cheerfulness in the duties of obedience, the proper fruits of this assurance: so far is it from inclining men to looseness. 4 True believers may have the assurance of their salvation divers ways shaken, diminished, and intermitted; as, by negligence in preserving of it; by falling into some special sin, which woundeth the conscience and grieveth the Spirit; by some sudden or vehement temptation; by God's withdrawing the light of His countenance, and suffering even such as fear Him to walk in darkness, and to have no light: yet are they never utterly destitute of that seed of God, and life of faith, that love of Christ and the brethren, that sincerity of heart and conscience of duty, out of which, by the operation of the Spirit, this assurance may, in due time, be revived; and by the which, in the mean time, they are supported from utter despair. Faith without assurance is not saving faith, because you have failed to embrace Christ as Saviour. The Heidelberg catechism and Augsburg Confession agree with Luther and Calvin. The Westminster Confession on the other hand opens the door for assurance to be obtained after conversion, which I disagree with, in my view if you have faith and not assurance you are not saved, but I am not God to judge those that have no assurance. But regardless whether the point of salvation happens at the time you obtain assurance or later, all theologians agree 5hat assurance is desirable for the Christian walk, some like the early reformers thought assurance to be essential and I agree with them.

He who says "I know Him" and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in Him.
Yahushua said in Matthew 19:17, if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.
Matthew 5:17-18, He said that the law or the prophets will not change even the slightest until heaven and earth pass away and all is fulfilled. Common sense would tell you that the law still stands unchanged. The law that He fulfilled was the penalty of death for breaking the law, the law that was against us.

@2Chronicles714_ yes. But not in the way you were led to believe. They had faith in their own works. Not in jesus. The point is to glorify jesus, not man. By having faith in their own works to "earn" salvation, they are attempting to glorify themselves. The point of the bible is that we are all wicked and corrupt and apart from christ, we do not deserve heaven. We cannot even do enough good to make up for the bad in our hearts and earn salvation. Salvation is a gift from God and not something we can earn, because again, we do not deserve it. Even if we did good works all our lives, we still couldn't erase our sin and we couldn't earn salvation. That is why we must turn to Jesus alone and depend on him alone and not ourselves.

In desperation they are pointing to their works as evidence they knew Him.
Two key words are "knew" which is in an intimate way just like that word is used throughout scripture.
If you have never repented of sin and are living a life serving Jesus He can not "know" you.
Iniquity/lawlessness is continuing in unrepentant sin.

    • @jamesvan2201
      @jamesvan2201 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @jamesvan2201
      @jamesvan2201 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@2Chronicles714_ you ignore everything that Paul says. "If it is by grace, then it is no longer by works, and if it is by works, then it is no longer by grace." It cannot be both. To mix is to serve 2 masters. You either have faith in yourself, or faith in christ. Paul and James both said, whoever puts themselves under the law is under a curse, for God expects perfection. If the law is to be obeyed, then all of the law must be obeyed. If you fail at just one point, you are guilty of them all! Therefore you are condemned for the wages of breaking the law is death!
Where do you think assurance of salvation comes from??? Can you be assured of salvation by repenting from sin? What if you slip up and sin again? Can you be assured by doing good works? How many good works must you do? What's the quota?/qualification?
The assurance IS christ! Because He is God. He is not a liar. He was the only one who was able to live a perfect and sinless life, fulfilling ALL of the law, therefore we are saved by grace through faith in Him Alone. THAT IS OUR ASSURANCE! The fact that He did it for us. Not "I did it by repenting of sin." The glory doesn't go to me for what I could do. It goes to God for what He did.
The bible says all of us fall short of the glory and are all of us, deserving of eternal damnation. How then can you earn salvation by doing good works when God says none of us, no, not 1, deserves heaven and eternal life! That is why we can only get it by faith in christ alone. Because he gives us what we do not deserve and what we cannot earn! You say that you can get saved by doing good works is like saying jesus didn't need to die for your sin. You are being proud and arrogant and saying that YOU DONT NEED CHRIST. In that, you worship a false idol: Self. Your self is your false god.

@endtimesareuponus8930 Not every thing in the bible is for you to apply to youself. Who is the text for, he asks. Always ask that. Most ot the bible has is centered around the real estate given to Israel because the Kingom will be on it. Mose was told to remove his shoes because he was standing on holy ground. The ground that would contain the nation of Israel. Christ came to them. He died and rose to be their KIng and sit on the throne. While this is speaking of Paul's apostleship to all nations, look what he says
      Rom.1
[1] Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
[2] (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
      [3] Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
[4] And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
[5] By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
[6] Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:
Verse 3, David's seed is Jesus.
How about Peter who sat under the ministry of Christ and was indoctrinated in things pertaining to the kingdom? Peter preached the Law must be obeyed to his fellow Jews and converts to their religion. [29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
[30] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; (Acts 2) CONDITIONS ARE GROUNDED IN THE COVENANT OF OLD. Acts 3 [18] But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.
      [19] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
[20] And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
IF the promise of forgiveness of sin is conditional then how else could be assured of salvation today? Thru the gospel as preached by Paul.
      CONDITIONS ARE
      Deut 11
      [26] Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
[27] A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
[28] And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
Study Paul's epistles, the good news conditioned on believing that which he tells us of Christ that was not known to those in the gospel accounts. Salvation by faith alone in the cross work

Also Jesus talking to believers says believers will fall away from the faith in the last days, I.e. right now.
And to believers if you do not forgive your brother for his sin, God will not forgive you fir your sins, this is like the parable of the servant who’s master forgave him but he would not forgive someone who owed him money, so his master did not forgive him anymore and had him thrown in jail.
The lords pray also says forgive us as that’s as we forgive others.
In other words if you don’t forgive your brother God will not forgive you, therefore depart from me.
So please forgive other who sin against you, that does not mean approve of their sin, or to say they should not face Gods or the world judgement, but only that you must forgive their sin, not approve of it.
How would it be if Jesus forgave you and you not forgive others.

The main challenge you will get to the very decent messages you laid out above, is another passage that describes what appears to be the very same event, where Jesus is dividing the sheep from the goats. Jesus turns to those who have done the loving works he commanded in the gospels and says that in as much as you did these things unto the least of these brothers and sisters of his, you did it unto him.
But in as much as you did not do it to the least of his brothers and sisters, you did not do it unto him. And then those people who did not do these loving works will be sent away from him into everlasting punishment.
Could it be that these are the exact same people Jesus was admonishing earlier for working iniquity because they claimed to do miracles in his name, and mighty works in his name, and so on, but they didn't do the loving actions he commanded of them in the gospels?
In other words, could it be that he was saying his law is love, and when he admonishes these people for practicing lawlessness, he's really saying they are practicing lovelessness? As in, they did all these miraculous works and mighty works, but they didn't do the loving works he actually commanded them to do, and therefore they are practicing lawlessness, or lovelessness. And then those who practiced the loving actions he commanded, are the ones he accepts and says that he "knew". Because these people practice the law of Christ.

@robertschmidt9296 The law of Moses/Mosaic covenant was fulfilled in Christ. You are no longer under the law of Moses/that covenant if you are under Christ. Instead, you are under a new covenant, that includes new laws and many, but not all, old laws. But which law? The law of Christ.
So do you pour over the law of Moses and that covenant the Gentiles were never even a part of, and study the 613 laws? No.
Or do you pour over the words of Jesus and study them and put them into practice? Yes. And why? Because that's the law you are under, because that's the covenant you are under. Again, I can't make this any clearer: You are a Gentile you are not and you never were part of the Mosaic covenant.
But if you believe upon the Son of God, Yeshua Messiah, then you are part of the new covenant he ushered in. And it has laws as part of it. That's the law you are under. And if you are not under that law, then you are lawless. Why? Because there is no other law or covenant available any longer. So by default, you are either under his law, his covenant, or you are lawless.

    John 10:1-5,14,26-27
Truly truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way that man is a thief and a robber. 2But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of
strangers.14 Iam the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me,
26but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
Only those who have a changed life by repentance are those who are Jesus's sheep and follow him.
Jesus uses the word "knows" as in an intimate way just like that word is used throughout scripture.
    Matt 7:21-23
Why does Jesus say Depart from me I never "knew" you ye that work
    iniquity
He's not double minded The works mentioned are works that He told us to do
    Matt 10:28
    John 14:12
    Mark 16:15-17
Paul says do works to show your repentance in
    Acts 26:20
Clearly they had some type of knowledge of God to do those works He doesn't say you trusted in your works
He doesn't say I knew you once and you later rejected me.
He says I never "knew" you (in scripture "knew" means intimately)
They never changed their minds about their sinfulled life (repented) of their sins.
They didn't have a personal relationship with Him.
They were pointing to their works as evidence they knew Him.
    They believed repentance is works
God didn't know them because they hadn't been regenerated, forgiven of their sins and died in their iniquity.
What is the will of the Father?
The Greek word that is translated as “does” is poieo. The word appears 598 times in the New Testament. It has been demonstrated that the Greek word for “does” refers to action that performs an activity. This word is a verb and not a noun.Since poieo is a verb, we must also determine the meaning of its tense, voice and mood. The tense of poieo in Matthew 7:21 is in the present tense.Poieo in the present tense refers to action that is ongoing. For example, when Jesus said, “he who does the will” He was referring to ongoing action at that moment in time.
In other words he who is doing the Father's will. The Greek word for “does” is a Greek present participle which implies ongoing behavior. The person who does the will of God once in a while does not qualify.Jesus is describing someone who habitually does the will of the Father.
Poieo is also in the active voice, which means that when Jesus said, “.he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter”
He was saying that the individual must be performing the action.
A life of obedience (present tense “do” [Ποιωv] for continuous action) to his will is, in fact, the definition of righteousness.
when Jesus says “. . . but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” The word “does” is a present, active, participle verb which means that those who continuously are doing the will of the Father go to heaven. Jesus was referring to a pattern of life and not perfect obedience.
The character of true Christians is that they sin less and less as they mature in their faith.

Simply put, the people in Matthew 7 being discussed in this video are NOT born again believers. We know this by what Jesus tells them. he says " I never knew you" . Jesus knows His children , His sheep also know His voice. These folks are what we call today Lordship/ works folks. I cannot say they are Christians because many feel they have to earn or work for their salvation. They deny eternal security and grace and the promises of Jesus. Please read for encouragement John 6:37-40 and I hope and pray you will find comfort in knowing it is Jesus that is faithful always.

      Question 1
What is thy only comfort in life and death?
That I with body and soul, both in life and death,a am not my own,b but belong unto my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ;c who, with his precious blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins,d and delivered me from all the power of the devil;e and so preserves mef that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head;g yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation,h and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life,i and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.j
      Question 2
How many things are necessary for thee to know, that thou, enjoying this comfort, mayest live and die happily?
Three;a the first, how great my sins and miseries are;b the second, how I may be delivered from all my sins and miseries;c the third, how I shall express my gratitude to God for such deliverance.d

Jesus tells us we must do more than believe for eternal life with God
      Luke 13:23-28 kj
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
The gate is narrow because the process is hard, and the perspective we need to see the entrance to the narrow gate comes only through the Savior, Christ Jesus. We don’t do it on our own but operate by the power of Christ, in us, so God receives all the glory.
The goal of the narrow gate starts with repentance followed by obedience to live a life that glorifies God. It may seem counterproductive to fight through the narrow gate of persecution and hardship by resting in Jesus. His burden is light, He promises.
Putting it down all that entangles us is difficult! However, the possibility of missing our chance at eternity is extremely plausible if we clutch onto sinfull desires, lusts and pursuits of the world the wide gate.Destruction means a loss that produces utter ruin, perishing and here refers to loss of eternal life with God.

I also appreciate the speaker here says "believing ON" Jesus and not just believing in him. Believing in Jesus means that you believe he exists, and believing on Jesus means that you have faith and trust in him. Still though, doing good works will not get you into heaven but you should still do good works because Faith without good works is dead. -James 2:17. and not everyone who says "Lord Jesus this and Lord Jesus that" will enter the Kingdom of Heaven but those that do good works in the Father's will. Matthew 7:21. But still have full trust in God's sacrifice and not your good works because we are still sinners regardless of any good we may have done in the will of the Lord. -Ephesians 2:8-9

God's Word says that those who are chosen and received faith from God to believe in Christ are known by Him before the foundations of the earth. So since eternity past as we may speak. In His eternal being God never changes. In Matthew 7 Christ says to those who will be lost for all eternity that He never knew them. Reborn christians will never hear those words, otherwise it would make Him a liar since they are known by God since eternity. He knew them before He created time, and He will know them forever and ever. The aspect of time will never change that.

Whenever I’m battered with that verse, I pair it with the verse when Jesus speaks with his righteous servants who confess they’re unworthy servants and any good they’ve done was merely their duty. We do have a duty to do good, but that does not justify us. It doesn’t make us worthy. The contrast between the two makes me see that the unrighteous confess themselves to be worthy by their works, and it appears therefore they’re judged by the law in which all of us are shown to be workers of iniquity. And the righteous confess themselves to be unworthy, and any works they did were merely what God calls us to, but don’t earn us admission to the kingdom of Heaven. These are those saved by Grace.

It's the law that we will be judged by on judgment day. We are all guilty of breaking the law and the penalty is death. But Yahushua provided a way out of the penalty for those who repent and obey Him.
Keeping the law isn't a works based salvation because we have all failed, salvation only comes through Yahushua, but grace isn't available for those who ignore the law.

Christian denominations are all manmade doctrines and teachings. Study the word of God for yourself. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things. Works justifies you before man and NOT before God. You twist the Book of James out of context based on your comment here. James is written to the twelve tribes abroad and he calls them 'my brethren'. James is giving examples of being justified before man because obviously man can't see your faith and man can only tell if you have faith by your works. Jesus told us to believe in Him to have everlasting or eternal life. Jesus didn't add any other requirement based on our works, performance, or behavior to be saved. Because we can't add anything to Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead. Romans 4 clarifies that Abraham was justified by works BUT NOT BEFORE GOD.
      Romans 4
1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

@@GiftofGrace88 How is it you can proclaim scripture as the sole means of knowing God, and still proclaim that ALL Christians denominations are man made? Do you intentionally ignore the scripture that clearly states that Jesus created a church and through that Church the gospel is to be spread? Clearly not all denominations are man made. There is certainly one that was made by Jesus himself. Find the one true church.
You do realize that the "word of God" that you rely upon was given to you by a Christian denomination? And the word of God clearly tells you that Jesus started a Church and that that Church was how he wanted the Gospel spread. Your task, as you seem lost, is to find that church.
Has it never occurred to you that Christianity survived rougly 1,500 years without scripture being known to the common man? And why only after scripture being known to the common man Christianity has become divided. All things being equal, as you contend that scripture alone is the means to know God, do you not ask yourself why Jesus did not say that during his time on earth? He could have very easily wrote that scripture and told all to follow it. Instead, He chose a different method. You know, the keys to the kingdom and whatnot? Now, maybe you think your wisdom is superior to God almighty. I, personally, don't pretend I know better. Find the one true church.

@@indo3052 Here is the exchange I had - Are you a child of God or are you a sinner since it is impossible to be both? If you can get sick then you are definitely a sinner and I can certainly prove what I am relating in scripture.
First understand that I am a sanctified disciple of Jesus Christ and I have overcome both sin and sickness in this life. That’s right, I am definitely stating that I cannot sin and that I can never get sick and you had better think twice before you try to disprove what I am about to relate since you may be condemning your soul in the process.
If you somehow believe that you are a child of God but yet you possess sin and sickness in your life then try and prove it to me with scripture since I know that I can certainly prove that you are wrong and I can also prove that you do not know God at all. I can also prove that if you possess sin and sickness in your life then there is a very good chance that you are heading for an eternity in hell. So if you foolishly believe otherwise then once again try and prove it with scripture.
I have had many foolish believers attacking me because I relate that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ who is sanctified in truth and that I have overcome sin and sickness in my life. Many of them just will not accept the truth that I can no longer sin nor can I ever get sick in this here life. I have related over and over how it is sin that allows the devil to destroy our lives with his sickness and disease and that if you possess sin then you certainly do not know God or scripture.
Many believers will try to tell me that I am wrong and that what I relate is impossible because Jesus was the only sinless person. They mainly try to refute my wisdom simply because they are trying to justify the sin and the sickness that they possess in their own lives. So if you believe that I am wrong in my knowledge of God and scripture and you believe that you are correct then prove your misguided beliefs with scripture. Prove to me how you could possibly be a child of God and yet have sin and sickness in your life! Give me just one scripture verse where God instructed you to live in sin or where God stated that you will always sin. Give me one verse of scripture where God stated that a child of God will have sickness in their life or where sickness is a natural part of this life?
I can certainly back up everything that I relate in scripture since I know that scripture relates how a child of God does not let sin reign in their body, he does not sin, they do not sin, he has died to sin, he has ceased from sin, and he cannot sin. All of these terms are used when describing a believer who is a child of Christ but yet most who claim to be a follower of Christ believe that they can never stop sinning and that they will always sin. So here are the scriptures that back up what I know and what I am relating.
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NKJV
“Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.”
      ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15:34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness- by whose stripes you were healed.”
      ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
      ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NKJV
So if you are foolish enough to try and convince me that you are a child of God who cannot stop sinning and who will always sin then kindly give me even just one scripture verse that backs up your misguided belief? I can certainly give you scripture that proves that if you sin then you are not a Christian since you belong to the devil and your sins will only lead to your death.
“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭NKJV
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭NKJV‬
I can also provide scripture that if you truly follow God then God will not allow the devil to touch you with sickness and disease since God will remove them from your life.
“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
      ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭23:25-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”
      ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭15:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.”
      ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭7:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
      ‭‭John‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NKJV
So prove to me how you are somehow a child of God who is a sinner and that you will always sin. Give me just one scripture verse that backs up your ridiculous belief? Give me one scripture verse that justifies the sickness or the disability that you possess in your life?
Now do not try to use 1 John 1:8-1O or Romans 3:10 and 3:23 to try and justify your sin either. These scriptures are simply relating that everyone is born a sinner so they are not righteous and they fall short of the glory of God. They are relating that this is why we need to repent and confess our sins to God so that He will then forgive us. They also relate that anyone who believes that they have never sinned is then calling God a liar. But nowhere are they ever stating that a believer will always sin as most foolishly desire to believe. So I know that I would have to wait a very long long time for you to respond with a scripture verse since there are no such scriptures to back up your misguided beliefs.
So here is what most of you certainly do not understand. Yes, scripture relates that Jesus was born without sin and that He lived His entire life without sinning so Jesus certainly was the only sinless person. However scripture is definitely not relating that His followers will always sin or they will always have sickness in their lives. Scripture is actually stating the exact opposite of that utter nonsense and it is relating how the children of God need to learn how to overcome their sins and their sicknesses.
Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. This meant for us to stop sinning entirely and to start living holy and righteously just as God commanded. We are all born in sin and we have all sinned but this does not mean that a believer can never stop sinning. Jesus came to forgive us of the sins that we have already committed and this occurs at the moment that we repent of our sins and we accept Jesus and His Holy Spirit into our life. Once we receive His Holy Spirit we were then commanded to surrender our will to God so that we would allow the Spirit to sanctify our heart in God’s truth. This can only occur by understanding how to test the Spirits as commanded in 1 John 4. Sanctification takes years and it requires our faith, patience, suffering and endurance since the Holy Spirit teaches us how to overcome our sins. Once we learn how to overcome our sins then we have now overcome sickness and disease since they come from sin and the devil. This is the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind through His sacrifice on the cross but yet most misguided believers do not understand this truth. Most willingly fall for the devil’s lie that we could be a child of God and also be a sinner and that sickness is a normal part of this life. They simply prove that they are fools who are completely ignorant of scripture and so they will simply perish in their sin and in their ignorance of truth.
“And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Amen! Brothers and sister in Christ, if you are truly trusting in Him you can have assurance of your salvation. There is no one on earth who could ever claim to have reached a place of acceptable self righteousness to merit entrance into the Kingdom. This would mean that this said individual could then claim or boast to have the necessary minimum obedience required for salvation. Ask yourself this question, does this sound biblical? Trust in Christ alone for salvation, our love for God will have a sanctifying effect on our lives but this is a separate issue all together.

The thing about Calvinism is that it is actually God who decided to build houses on sand or on the Rock. Isn't it disingenuous of Jesus to warn people to make decisions about foundations if He knew fully well that they truly cannot decide, and He has already determined where the house was destined to be built?

  • @chasekrug8668
    @chasekrug8668 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ok but the *explicitly stated* difference between the two builders in Mt. 7:24-27 is that one *does* what he hears from Jesus (i.e., Mr. Rock), and the other *does not* (i.e., Mr. Sand). It is a contrast of a life lived in obedience to Christ and one lived in disobedience to Christ. See Stott, MacArthur, France, Carson, and Morris.
At 8:46, you say, "If you don't build your hope on Christ, you have not the foundation that will withstand in the day of trial is what he's saying." This is wonderfully true, of course, but it's not what he's saying with the parable of the builders. He's saying, "If you don't obey Jesus's words, you do not know Him because all who know Christ obey him."
Mr. Rock's obedience demonstrates - serves as the evidence - that he "knows" the Lord (cf. Mt. 7:23). Mr. Sand's disobedience demonstrates that he does not. Without making works/fruit the ground of salvation, the whole section (Mt. 7:15-27) is a warning against separating saving faith from the obedience it invariably produces.
Let's make sure not to neuter the text of its demand for obedience in service to preserving the doctrine of justification by faith alone (a right and proper intuition, to be sure).

Hi, your comment is a year old, but maybe I can answer it for you if you haven't already found the answer. The Bible talks about lying signs and wonders that will be prevalent, especially in the last days. These are false miracles, either by natural deception or demonic power. I know people who call themselves Christians who are self-righteous and boastful in their works of apparently casting out demons, healing the sick, baptising, and making disciples. You are saved because you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone period plus nothing else. Here are some examples below of Jesus clearly saying and even sometimes saying "verily, verily" or truly, truly, that if you believe on Him, you have everlasting or eternal life. He made the gospel this simple. Then repeated it over and over again. Yet you see so many deceived folks out there that want to add their dirty rags of self-righteousness to the gospel of Christ and therefore become heretics.
      John 3
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      ...
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
      ...
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
      John 6
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
      John 6:47
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.
      John 10
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
      John 11
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
      John 17
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
      1 John 2
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
THE WORD OF GOD TELLS US THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE RIGHT WHEN YOU BELIEVE ON JESUS CHRIST!
      1 John 5
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The main challenge you will get to the very decent message you laid out is another passage that describes what appears to be the very same event, where Jesus is dividing the sheep from the goats.

You are saved, without doing anything. Jesus died for everyone over 2000 years ago, to save the world. Your sin is forgiven! You do not have to do "works" to be saved. Baptism is just a ritual that christians do. It has no saving power. Only Jesus has the power to save. He already did it for you. Now, be thankful to God for doing this for you and go live your life. The Holy Spirit will guide you, just let it happen now and stop wondering if you are saved or not, because you are. Don't worry.

But why cannot our good works be the whole, or part of our righteousness before God?
Because, that the righteousness, which can be approved of before the tribunal of God, must be absolutely perfect,a and in all respects conformable to the divine law; and also, that our best works in this life are all imperfect and defiled with sin.b

@endtimesareuponus8930 I will share an exchange I had with a sinless perfection teacher. It is lengthy, but important. At the end I was called a child of the devil smh. Here goes:
you are certainly deceived and you clearly belong to the devil. Scripture clearly relates that anyone who still sins does not know God and they belong to the devil and there is not even one scripture that ever relates that a sinner can belong to God or that a sinner is a Christian or that a sinner is a child of God. So your lost and deceived soul certainly is not comprehending what scripture is relating. “Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:6-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Anyone who is now born of God does not and cannot sin and we definitely know that this does not apply to you. Realize that if you were truly living by the Holy Spirit then it would be impossible for you to sin since you would now be guided by the Spirit of God who is Holy and pure and who cannot sin. Since you can no longer sin then it would be impossible for you to ever get sick since scripture clearly relates that sickness only comes from sin and the devil. So there is no doubt that you have certainly proven that the only spirit that is guiding your ignorant and sinful life is called Lucifer. Scripture is relating how Paul and the other apostles were sinners who allowed Jesus to sanctify their hearts in God’s truth and teach them how to overcome their sins. Jesus did this in the flesh with His 12 original disciples and He did it through His Holy Spirit with Paul. Clearly you overlooked that Jesus is alive and He now does the same exact thing with anyone who truly surrenders their will through the guidance of His Holy Spirit. This is the whole reason why we need His Holy Spirit. Sanctification is not a life long process since the apostles became sanctified in truth through the teachings of Jesus and all you need to do is read John 17:6-19 to prove as much. This is why Jesus then used them as His messengers since they were now sanctified in God’s truth and they had overcome their sins. So you certainly have no idea what scripture is even relating and God and I are simply laughing at your lost and ignorant soul. “But the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    • @nickwadson5731
      @nickwadson5731 ปีที่แล้ว

@endtimesareuponus8930 here is the 1st part - First understand that I am a sanctified disciple of Jesus Christ and I have overcome both sin and sickness in this life.
      ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

... and yet we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phi 2:12). Jacob/James says that good works are the fruit/evidence of salvation when he asks, "Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. Uou see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
"In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."

YOU HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD THIS VERSE AT ALL (or maybe you have)
    Matthew 7:23 KJV
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
most think that when he said this he meant that he doesn't know you because you're not a believer in him (this was me about 2 months ago as well). However, that is WRONG.
If that is what he meant it would have been written as, "I don't know you" but the phrase "I never knew you" suggest that this is an action being done at a single point in time.
But how is it that you can "knew" someone?
    Genesis 4:1 KJV
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
    Genesis 4:17 KJV
And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
    Genesis 4:25 KJV
And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
There are three instances here where the word "knew" is used meaning for someone to go unto another/ consummate.
Let's go on to see where else in the word this also aligns w this meaning...
    Genesis 38:18,24-26 KJV
And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him. [24] And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. [25] When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff. [26] And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.
Here we see that he came in unto her, however upon being informed that she was not a harlot, he didn't do so again.
It is not that he just forgot about her completely just like that. No.
(You can read the chapter to get the context of what is going on)
    Matthew 1:24-25 KJV
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: [25] And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
So Jospeh had not come in unto Mary until Jesus was born (because of the fulfillment of the scripture). We know this because it states that Jesus was Mary's firstborn, not her only son.
    Likewise...
    Ephesians 5:25-32 KJV
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. [32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
So the same way a man goes in, unto his wife and the two become one flesh by consummation in marriage, so does Christ come in, into the church and are now joined by one spirit (his spirit) which is done with the washing of water in accordance to the word (water baptism in Jesus Christ name).
Therefore if you have never been in the marriage (water baptism in Jesus Christ name) with Christ he has not yet come in, into you and you have not become one in him and he is not in you. That is to say he never knew you. (To say so would be to call Christ a harlot, but God forbid. Let God be true and everyman be a liar)
    Galatians 3:26-29 KJV
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. [27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. [28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. [29] And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
