It ends tragic (he was one of the first AIDS-patients; nurses would put a plate for his door in the hospital because they were affraid of the virus). But it also has a little boy in Germany listening to Maria Callas & rock. His performances in NY in the 70's and 80's were legendary and even people like David Bowie would come see them. He's a paradise-bird. Good to see/hear the Cold Song here

I always saw Purcell's 'King Arthur" as somewhat weird and nonsensical with scenes like the Cold Genius and magick woods and whatnot. I almost think having seemingly random reasons for songs like this was more Purcell just playing with the genre and with styles. He wanted a song with this very deliberate and very focused pacing that keeps rising so he found a way to force one in so he could experiment. That being said, as much as his version of the story is bonkers, the song was brilliantly composed and considering how hard I imagine it is to sing in that very forced and deliberate pace Nomi absolutely hit it out of the park with his rendition. Seeing the live version just reaffirmed how great a singer he was and what incredible control he had over his voice. Truly one of a kind and an irreplaceable voice.

Ich hatte als Kind das vergnügen dieses Stück im Radio gehört zu haben, es hat mich nie wieder losgelassen. This is so interesting Klaus Nomi was actually my neighbor.I used to see him all the time walking around and pasting his home made xerox copies of his pictures on corner walls to announce his performances.he loved the science fiction look with the ray gun and all.I used to sell toe shoes for ballet and Klaus would pass by on the afternoon to discuss music and see if anyone would "recognize" him.may he rest in peace.I believe he was the first ever victim of Aids in New York and perhaps the world

This is the 2nd song i hear from Klaus Nomi. So, i have never been a fan of his. But, clearly, this person was not just brilliant and talented, he possessed something that very few have had in this earth. He had a force, a light, a vibe guiding him, as classical composers like Bach and Beethoven did. This is the 2nd song i hear from Klaus Nomi. So, i have never been a fan of his. But, clearly, this person was not just brilliant and talented, he possessed something that very few have had in this earth. He had a force, a light, a vibe guiding him, as classical composers like Bach and Beethoven did. And i can seriously say that i am saddened by the comparisons i read people making here of him and some music industry pupped/product of today.I am referring to all of Nomi's fans,Don't fall 4 it.

mes parent m'avaient fait découvir ce chanteur mort beaucoup trop tôt ,à 33 ans, je crois, et j'ai adoré de suite , sa reprise du roi arthur en magnifique , envoutante, je trouve et les autres , je les aime aussi .
