Competitive wise, Gen 3 beats Gen 4 by quite a bit, and that's a fact. When it comes to memorable starters, it always comes down to personal preference :)

You guys should factor that in gen two there and the other old ones there wasn't a physical special split. Feraligatr was the worst starter since water was special. Typhlosion was the strongest and fastest since fire was special so he had good stab. Meganium was all around decent since it has well rounded stats and could use physical or special move types.
TheKingNappy I'm sorry but I'd have to disagree, pretty much anything will say that meganium and typhlosion were better than feraligatr during gold silver and crystal. There weren't any fire types really in the game just like in gen 1. So typhlosion was one of the best fire types in gen 2 and if you wanted a water type you would pick mantine or starmie, since they have decent special. Feraligatr only had base 79 special atk so he had a super weak stab. Typhlosion was the best in game also since he had an advantage to most the gyms and didn't have a disadvantage to them really. Meganium got wrecked by the bug, flying , and ice gyms, and ferligatr didn't have much of an advantage but didn't have a disadvantage that much either. So overall it would have to be typhlosion is the best choice, and meganium and feraligatr would go either way since neither are that bad. Meganium was just stronger and overall had better stats in it's favor. Feraligatr got messed by the phys/special split. But hey that's just me, I've only played through gen silver and crystal about 100 times. In the later gens ferligatr is the best since the split happened , and he got ddance and sheer force. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and all , but you guys should say how the starters we're when they were created. Gen 2 was supposed to be the last gen, so that would meant ferligatr woulda been cucked forever if they never made newer games. Also meganium and typhlosion are only allowed in ou or above since they are uubl. Ferligatr is only uu so he is a lower tier completively.

When it comes to the overall Dex, it has to be Gen 3. All of the legends are badass, there's not a single bad one, and they all have great battle themes. The starters are on par with Kanto's, with Venusaur over Sceptile but Swampert over Blastoise, and Charizard and Blaziken on equal ground. It has the unfair double Psuedo's which I oh-so love, and the leftovers are all damn fine. Cacturne, Walrein, Crawdaunt, Gardevoir, Manetric, Hariyama, SWALOT, Mawile, Cradily, Sharpedo, Aggron, Serviper, Milotic, Dusclops, Sableye, little Snorunt and Trapinch, Flygon. So many cool and nicely designed Pokemon. Even those left unmentioned are nice to look at, if anything. Gen 5 might be a close second. There's as many good Pokemon in that gen, a lot of my personal favorites come from there, but the starters, and a lot of the early mons are just garbage. Gen 5 certainly brought more to the table, but I like quality over quantity, honestly. And no matter how competitively viable the legends are, I just can't get behind some of them, but that's my problem.

Like the first time you did this it was like „finally somebody doesn‘t just praise charizard and lucario“ but I‘m watching you for years now and...as nice as it is to habe somebody who doesn‘t only like the popular ones, it leaves a sour taste if someone dislikes a mon ONLY because its popular. Like you can like and dislike what you want don‘t get me wrong but saying a mon is bad only to trigger people or only to be hipster...I mean I like you but it becomes stale after some time. The one thing I’ll say... since you’re considering each gen independently, any features made after them shouldn’t be counted (including remakes). It just takes away value from the later gens, specifically 6th and 7th. That’s why they were almost always on the bottom... as well that they haven’t had remakes, so their “full potential” hasn’t been reached yet like gens 1-3
Personal preference. From what I see, Cynthia's popularity comes almost solely from the challenge she presents. Unfortunately I didn't find her team hard to beat, so I don't get as hyped for Cynthia as most people do.

Zetzer 24 I ranked them higher because I like the overall Pokémons better in those game Gen 1 has good starters and Gen 3 has good Psudos but other than a few other mons in those Gens I like compared to 6 and 7 where I like majority of them

Gen 2 was a pritty weak Gen Dex-wise, because it got no love from Gamefreak besides TTar during later Gens. But Sceptile? Sceptile is so cool! Could also not understand the hate.
First of all, you can easely play through the game with Sceptile. You just need another mon for the 4. and 6. gym, but thats okey. And second... That doesn't make the design and feel of a mon bad.

TheKingNappy I'm sorry but I'd have to disagree, pretty much anything will say that meganium and typhlosion were better than feraligatr during gold silver and crystal. There weren't any fire types really in the game just like in gen 1. So typhlosion was one of the best fire types in gen 2 and if you wanted a water type you would pick mantine or starmie, since they have decent special. Feraligatr only had base 79 special atk so he had a super weak stab. Typhlosion was the best in game also since he had an advantage to most the gyms and didn't have a disadvantage to them really. Meganium got wrecked by the bug, flying , and ice gyms, and ferligatr didn't have much of an advantage but didn't have a disadvantage that much either. So overall it would have to be typhlosion is the best choice, and meganium and feraligatr would go either way since neither are that bad. Meganium was just stronger and overall had better stats in it's favor. Feraligatr got messed by the phys/special split. But hey that's just me, I've only played through gen silver and crystal about 100 times. In the later gens ferligatr is the best since the split happened , and he got ddance and sheer force. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and all , but you guys should say how the starters we're when they were created. Gen 2 was supposed to be the last gen, so that would meant ferligatr woulda been cucked forever if they never made newer games. Also meganium and typhlosion are only allowed in ou or above since they are uubl. Ferligatr is only uu so he is a lower tier completively.

When it comes to the overall Dex, it has to be Gen 3. All of the legends are badass, there's not a single bad one, and they all have great battle themes. The starters are on par with Kanto's, with Venusaur over Sceptile but Swampert over Blastoise, and Charizard and Blaziken on equal ground. It has the unfair double Psuedo's which I oh-so love, and the leftovers are all damn fine. Cacturne, Walrein, Crawdaunt, Gardevoir, Manetric, Hariyama, SWALOT, Mawile, Cradily, Sharpedo, Aggron, Serviper, Milotic, Dusclops, Sableye, little Snorunt and Trapinch, Flygon. So many cool and nicely designed Pokemon. Even those left unmentioned are nice to look at, if anything.
Gen 5 might be a close second. There's as many good Pokemon in that gen, a lot of my personal favorites come from there, but the starters, and a lot of the early mons are just garbage. Gen 5 certainly brought more to the table, but I like quality over quantity, honestly. And no matter how competitively viable the legends are, I just can't get behind some of them, but that's my problem.

The one thing I’ll say... since you’re considering each gen independently, any features made after them shouldn’t be counted (including remakes). It just takes away value from the later gens, specifically 6th and 7th. That’s why they were almost always on the bottom... as well that they haven’t had remakes, so their “full potential” hasn’t been reached yet like gens 1-3

Zetzer 24 I ranked them higher because I like the overall Pokémons better in those game Gen 1 has good starters and Gen 3 has good Psudos but other than a few other mons in those Gens I like compared to 6 and 7 where I like majority of them

Gen 2 was a pritty weak Gen Dex-wise, because it got no love from Gamefreak besides TTar during later Gens. But Sceptile? Sceptile is so cool! Could also not understand the hate.
Sceptile is shit compared to Swampert and Blaziken during the playthrough. This is why they hate it.
First of all, you can easely play through the game with Sceptile. You just need another mon for the 4. and 6. gym, but thats okey. And second... That doesn't make the design and feel of a mon bad.
Sceptile is harder too play with than the other 2 (Which is my point that its shit compared to the others, but i am not saying its a bad mon)
