Yeah, the Beta got the Rom leaked, and it's great to know all the unused Pokemon and different type of assets and Sprites. Imagine the same happening for Gen 3, 4 and 5 with all the cool sprites and unused mons. And Gen 6 and 7 with unused 3D models. (There are no sprites in Gen 6 and 7, except the Pokemon summary screen. The overworld and characters are all 3D models, obviously.) It's pretty awesome! And i prefer the Bayleef we have now. It just feels better for some reason.

I listened to this in the background while gaming (I had already seen all the sprites so I didn't miss anything by seeing the overlay) and I absolutely loved having something new to listen to while playing the same boring game. Maybe you could have a new guest or two each week (classics like Shady, Nexus, Mo, etc. or feature smaller Poketubers that are looking to grow) and discuss a new topic, whether it relates to Pokemon, other games, or current rl events. It's just an idea that has wiggle room, but I would love it if you read this and put some thought into the idea.

Remember how we got first picture for "Pokemon ADV"?(Later turned into Ruby and Sapphire) There was a starter Pokemon that was basicaly mix between Lati@s and Blaziken, which means that originaly they were planned to be a one Pokemon.

You should take a peek at some of the items in the items tab, because some of them are wild. There's a held item that lets you switch and attack with that new mon in the same turn; there's an item that does 25% of the HP damage taken back at the attacker (Blissey would be BROKEN), and other wild stuff like that.
I know this will likely be an unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer the original designs for all three legendary dogs. The sprites definitely needed work, but I like the design concepts. In particular, I'm pretty sure Suicune was supposed to be a selkie (a mythical creature, google image it if you don't know what they look like) and that woulda been amazing if the sprite was a bit more refined.
I mean, one way to explain not spacing evolutions out so much is that most times you aren't going to be reaching the end of the game at level 100. Typically speaking, you're making it to the elite four around 50-60 (as that's typically where their levels are). So having mons that have their final evolution around 35-40 is a little more acceptable, because you get to run with your fully evolved mon for a few levels before reaching the end of the game. Unlike Hydreigon, where, especially in gen 5, you won't be having the fully evolved mon until you are at/in the elite four... So you don't get to enjoy it for as long. But, maybe in gen 8 (hoping it's gonna be a super long game) we'll have longer evolutions, because we'll have more time with the mons.

As somebody who has been playing since gen 1, and remembers impatiently waiting for gold and silver to come out it's awesome to see the evolution of these games. Without a doubt my favorites of the unreleased are that fire bear starter and that electric tiger. We are getting zeraora i guess lol.
When you were talking about Rapidash needing a mega I pictured a fire/steel type where Rapidash gets a suit of armor when it mega evolves. So it becomes a sort of war horse but it would be a unicorn because Rapidash is a unicorn.
Big Meaty Panda: PANGORO. Goodra and Hydreigon also aren't placed right before the legendaries, which shows its isn't a requirement anymore, since if it was, then you have to think about it: Sneasel, Snubbull, Aipom and Togepi were supposed to be legendaries.

Spaceworld Crystal name - New name What the new name comes from Aqua (Middle water starter evolution) - Aquacent "aqua" (water), and "accent" Tangel (Tangela baby) - Straytan "stray" and the beginning of "tangle" put together to sound like "straighten" Golppy (Goldeen baby) - Goldyke "goldfish" and "tyke" Parasy (Paras baby) - Parabud "parasite" with "bud" (as in budding) at the end Douno (Doduo baby) - Chikks Even the cry folder I have downloaded has this name. The design does not have one head, so Douno would just not cut it. I appreciate keeping up the motif, but it's not reflected visually. Meowsy (Meowth baby) - Cointen "coin" and "kitten" Grimey (Grimer baby) - Slimabu "slime" and "babu" (part of a reaction to cute babies "Ish da babu") Beta-Porygon2 - Porysphia same motif, but with spheres now (Also the new cry I assigned it has cry base 3D; I swear that was completely unintentional figuring out its cry.)
I agree about Pokemon evolving too early, but the problem with mons not fully evolving till 60 or later is the way the story is always paced. The main story is usually finished before mons hit level 60 or later. Even games that go a little past 60, it's only like 5 battles. So you'd have Deino/Zweilous for 95% of the game & Hydreigon for only a handful of battles.
45:23 This is exactly why 5th pokemon evolve so late, you get rufflets at route 10. If they were to evolve at level 30 they would instantly evolve into a braviary. They made mons like those evolve late so you still got to use them. And people be complaining about this and saying that all pokemon evolve too early lmao
I really want the bell cats and the electric tigers! The bell cats are really cute, and the tiger looks like a big fluffy pillow plush (It would have been so soft and cuddly).
I think the reason gen2 colour schemes were so wacky was because the game boy colour could only handle 4 colours per sprite. So that limitation led to some pretty creative designs.
The ditto evolution could have actually been kinda awesome. I imagine breeding certain pokemon with it (Like Onyx or Scyther) would next you a Scizor or Steelix egg. As for battle use, instead of transforming into a replica, I imagine it evolves into a replica but adds/replaces the secondary typing to steel. Don't get me wrong, ditto doesn't need an evo at all imo but, I can see many ways they could make that thing pretty unique and give it it's own gimmick and identity. That fucking slowbro shell! I NEEDED that as a pokemon when I was a kid. I always wanted it to become its own unique thing, maybe even getting an evolution itself- becoming a phyiscal attacker/defender as opposed to slowkings more special focus.
Honestly, 226 and 227 look look baby forms of Raikou. This was probably what we were suppose to get (the pokemon that died and Ho-oh revived as dieties. I mean its even in the name...Kotora and Raitora...Also, that Ho-Oh Sprite is from the Anime and Pokemon Cards.

I also loved Murkrows little hat but I understand why they changed it, I agree with you that pokemon with clothes just doesn't make sense. Other than that I'm glad they changed the rest of them. I wish we got to have Quillfish's evolution plus the electric tiger line and the bell cat pokemon.
I feel like Norowara kinda had its design rolled back a little bit then recycled for Banette. That sort of "cursed doll demanding vengeance" type thing is very much so within its wheelhouse
So if all the scrapped designs were brought back in a fanmade pokedex, there's a few I'd actually change the names to.

"parasite" with "bud" (as in budding) at the end
Douno (Doduo baby) - Chikks
Even the cry folder I have downloaded has this name. The design does not have one head, so Douno would just not cut it. I appreciate keeping up the motif, but it's not reflected visually.

"coin" and "kitten"
Grimey (Grimer baby) - Slimabu
"slime" and "babu" (part of a reaction to cute babies "Ish da babu")

I agree about Pokemon evolving too early, but the problem with mons not fully evolving till 60 or later is the way the story is always paced. The main story is usually finished before mons hit level 60 or later. Even games that go a little past 60, it's only like 5 battles. So you'd have Deino/Zweilous for 95% of the game & Hydreigon for only a handful of battles.

This is exactly why 5th pokemon evolve so late, you get rufflets at route 10. If they were to evolve at level 30 they would instantly evolve into a braviary. They made mons like those evolve late so you still got to use them. And people be complaining about this and saying that all pokemon evolve too early lmao
I really want the bell cats and the electric tigers! The bell cats are really cute, and the tiger looks like a big fluffy pillow plush (It would have been so soft and cuddly).
I think the reason gen2 colour schemes were so wacky was because the game boy colour could only handle 4 colours per sprite. So that limitation led to some pretty creative designs.
The ditto evolution could have actually been kinda awesome. I imagine breeding certain pokemon with it (Like Onyx or Scyther) would next you a Scizor or Steelix egg. As for battle use, instead of transforming into a replica, I imagine it evolves into a replica but adds/replaces the secondary typing to steel. Don't get me wrong, ditto doesn't need an evo at all imo but, I can see many ways they could make that thing pretty unique and give it it's own gimmick and identity.
That fucking slowbro shell! I NEEDED that as a pokemon when I was a kid. I always wanted it to become its own unique thing, maybe even getting an evolution itself- becoming a phyiscal attacker/defender as opposed to slowkings more special focus.

Honestly, 226 and 227 look look baby forms of Raikou. This was probably what we were suppose to get (the pokemon that died and Ho-oh revived as dieties. I mean its even in the name...Kotora and Raitora...Also, that Ho-Oh Sprite is from the Anime and Pokemon Cards.
Hmm interesting to hear your interpretation of Paras, because I always thought that the mushroom itself was the parasite. Also, I saw those black cats with the bell tails as the early version of purrloin and liepard
