#wharramsareawesome being able to do this is legit one of the many reasons we decided on a Wharram sailboat. Although beaching Rum Barrel for the first time had me a little nervous, no lie. Like seriously what if we got stuck, or sunk in to the beach too much?! All that and more went through my mind (yayyy anxiety, lol) but Alex assured me our boat was made to do this. 😂⛵️💪🏼
Given the opportunity to tie up to a mooring ball on one of the few sandy beaches in Washington (Thank you @forrestdnichols )… we gave it a go. We came in at high tide, and watched as the water slowly went away. Right before we actually settled into the sand, it did get slightly bumpy (there was a small swell) but it didn’t feel like nothing more than us knocking… idk that’s the best I can explain it 🤪
Without Forrest offering us his mooring ball, I don’t think we would have beached in Washington at all. But the added benefit of having a Wharram is you get to belong to an awesome community of like minded people. So we’re stoked we got the opportunity to do so before we left.

Awe sweet! You can hail your port wherever with the Coast Guard registration but we're from Texas and didn't want to claim Washington 😅 Long story short, lmao...
