  • I am super happy to talk about my journey on «Wayan», a Tiki26 sailing catamaran. This Video is a recording of slightly adapted powerpoint I presented in several sailing clubs in Luzern, Switzerland.
In this first part you can start my voyage with me in Luzern, learn more about the design of this 8 meter Wharram catamaran and set sail to the Balearic Islands and Morocco.

I’ve been following your father and this boat for a long time. So happy to see you on Wayan sailing. I actually built my own tiki 26. Cheer’s from North Carolina

Thank you for taking the time to post that video. I Know a Lot of work goes into this. I am also considering distance sailing in a Tiki 26, and you are an inspiration to all future Wharram builders. I am actually posting this reply on Christmas day 2023, and ... what a great Christmas present. Thank you. 🙏

A terrific Part One providing a clear and very positive back-story. I really enjoyed the narrative providing well reasoned thoughts on sailing cruising. Many thanks for your efforts.

Many thanks for the presentation. The minimalist sailing approach feels inspiring. Since it is something i currently consider seriously, there are a few slightly detailed randomly organised questions - hopefully not pedantic ;)
    * noticed only 2 solar panels - was that enough for energy?
    * i presume there are certain sea conditions you'd rather not sail on this size boat. how did that weigh in to planning the various sailing legs/sections? did you get a very accurate weather reports?
    * the central cabin/pod. in case you wanted to, is it possible to make it slightly more roomy by making the roof higher or something?
    * there's a rather loooong pole coming out from the middle front/bows - is that for a spinnaker?
    * what were/are the contingency plans in case the worst happened?
    Like your attitude!
Cheers and again - many thanks!

The smaller Tiki 21 has sailed around the world... So the design can handle very strong winds and waves!
