    I love this series of yours! For me it's a perfect mix between "oh, I've known this forever, use it every day" and "wait what, you can do that?"
    This way I can feel good for both knowing stuff by myself and learning new stuff from you at the same time!
    So double thank you :D

    Pop-up note is super helpful ! Funny thing is that people often do not read a message. Instead of it they write to me "Oooo, file is broken, there is an error window when I try to open a scene !" :)

    I've use notes, dot ring / loop, did not know about hide by hit or the coordinate preference - will be using those from now on. Great vid as always!

    Here's another example that we learn as long as we live.
    I've probably copied objects a million times in 3ds Max, but I never, ever even bothered to check what Controller>Instance is...
    It was hidden before my eyes... Another awesome tip as always! Thank you Vjeko! 👍

    Great tips! I knew about dot ring/dot loop, but the other 5 tips are all new to me!
    I think Group Attach will save me the most time! can't believe I didn't know it. The others are pretty cool but I probably have an equally good workflow going already. I am curious the name for some of these if we were going to assign a hotkey to them :)

    I don't know how unknown this is, but it was always frustrating me - You can bind "center pivot" and "move pivot to working pivot" - it really speeds up stuff, especially when you combine aligment with the new working pivot functions.

    One thing still needed for grouping is when attaching an object to the group, to have the ability to select the group in the scene explorer during this process.

    this is super cool and useful, why not speaking about the "Container" system in 3dsmax, its strong feature and not many use it.

    A couple of suggestions, Check the Checker , Grow lines , Dots , One ring selection pattern , Very useful, similer to Ring and loop gap but for Polygons , You can find it in the panels titles under the 1st panel in selection It's called patterns , Personally I had it on a quad menu , Another suggestion, I had a tip to see the interior of a room using an edit poly and delete all the outer polygons and Making the Modifier Off in render but visible in viewport with the backface cull option in the object properties . Another Experiment if you're interested, To check the difference with using The same material with the same maps but the only difference is changing the gamma of the maps to 1.0 on normal , roughness , Because when using a high bit depth maps , 3ds max automatically uses a gamma 1.0 on those maps because is't raw data and not color data , However when you use .jpg or .png and anyother 8bit maps , 3ds max uses a gamma of 2.2 , so the normal maps should differently be changed to 1.0 but not sure about roughness / glossiness and other maps except for Refl / Refr / diffu maps .

    Dot loop and ring is still not there in maya for vertex and faces. It's there in bonus tools for edges only.

    Another Question, There has to be a way to make a faster Light beams in 3ds max , Vray , Vantage , The Vray enviroment fog is far from usful to render Animation with it , I am unable to come up with a cheap alternative trick to render light beams similer to the ones used in events Sopt light , Fresnal lights , If I am not mistaken there are cheap ways to achive God rays , Dust in the air that are animated and spot light beams in unreal , the Path traced physically correct option in vray is way too heavy to render especially with Smoke Density texture , It's scales up to 10 times in render , So any viable hack or suggestions for that , It would be appreciated .

     @RenderRam Do you know how to have vertices set to Corner by default rather Bezier when creating a new spline? I swear there was a way to do it! That would be a useful tip!

    • @RenderRam
      @RenderRam  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I understand your question correctly,
      if you create spline by just clicking from point A to point B, they'll be created in Corner mode, but if you click and drag, they'll be a Bezier

    I've been using 3ds max since March 2023. I really like it but get frustrated at times. I feel like I'm learning a software that's dying. The UI is so 90s. I hope I'm wrong. I'm trying to render in Arnold and what a pain. I just feel like I shouldn't have to get another renderer if Arnold is as great as they say. Words of encouragement are needed. I'm interested in modeling, texturing, rendering and some basic vfx. I love films. I'm not into architecture much

    • @RenderRam
      @RenderRam  ปีที่แล้ว

      Words of encouragement?
      Keep in mind that all pros, everyone that creates ultra turbo awesome images were once in your shoes, and all had crappy renders at some point and were just as frustrated as you. And no, they didn’t learn faster than you. No one is born pro.
      You should see mine in my first few months of using max haha.
      It’s all just practice and dedication, just click on all buttons you see, and see what they do. Experiment with other engines like vray corona fstorm redshift, see which one sits the best with you
      I think every professional 3d software is too much to handle for a beginner at start. The more time you invest, the more things will be clear for you.

    A great series of videos. Unfortunately I know almost all hahaha. One suggestion: If you press Cntr+N in any value box with numbers, max opens an included calculator window so if you want to do some quick math it's super handy
