How likely is it that Cucurella keeps his Puma sponsorship considering he fucked up a major release. Even if these boots are trash to begin with, 99% of people aren't watching these videos and buy shoes by going into a store and trying these out. Those people will go into the store feel the shitty upper and think about the fact that Cucurella slipped in them. Damn Puma, they were doing so well with the Ultra....
Personally I think it's unlikely. I'm sure there are much smarter people than me looking into this situation, but I would think Cucurella leaving the brand on bad terms would only spark more controversy and negative attention focused around the Puma brand for the media to run with. "The boots are so bad he had to switch brands" is pretty much the only message that gets put out to the public should they part ways with Cucurella in the near future.
It is funny that the best Future is literally the 18.1, their very first model. That upper was butter and the customizability was really nice with that netfit system. It's a shame they're always just playing catch-up to Adidas and Nike instead of perfecting things that were working for them in the past (evoPower, original Future netfit, K-leather King)
The 18.1 while very good, was not butter lol. It was kinda stiff and rigid. It felt better after break in but even so was still a little stiff. The future Z 1.3 was probably the softest upper so far tbh
How on earth did they mess this up so badly? I honestly don't understand how products from major companies reach final release stage with so many major flaws. Design wise I prefer it to every other boots from the top 3, I just think it looks so cool, but everything else about it sounds terrible going by the reviews. Is there any chance Puma can fix these issues before releasing the boot? At this rate, especially with Cucurella's "help", this boot is going to be a massive loss for Puma.
This isn't the first time Cucurella has done this shit either. But it can't be looked past that he played like ass wearing these, and then all of a sudden started playing great when he was in the 7s.
Remember how great the Predator 24 launch went last year? This was the opposite of that 😂 Also, Puma prices are slowly catching up to Adidas and Nike which makes these even worse.
He's definitely one of their sponsored athletes. Whether or not it's grounds to sue, I have no idea? I'm sure all of those details are somewhere in his contract, with lawyers on both sides looking into it. Puma suing their own athlete probably wouldn't be a good look though. It would only bring more attention to a bad situation.
On another note did anyone notice how the fg studs on the bottom reminds me of the rebula 3 with the 3 studs underneath the ball of foot before the big toe
What I don't understand about Cucurella blaming the Puma boot for his slips was. He was wearing the Soft Ground variant of the boot with the longer studs during the match, and not the Firm Ground variant like the one in this video. So, it seems to me like he was just looking for excuses to blame for his poor performances (slippings).
I do agree he was using sg but they tend to have 4 metal studs and the other studs are from the normal boot maybe the material of those studs made him slip or just bad luck.
Completely off topic but my nike phantoms got destroyed and i didnt have the cash to buy a new boots so i ended up playing barefoot and i said it but actually believed it when everyone said i play way better when im barefoot idk if its the barefoot feel thing or just my feet in the wrong boots cause i do have wide feet and a slight bunion on my left foot from wearing à shoe smaller than my foot
Not gonna lie, even if the boots didn't perform for him, as a representative of the brand Cucurella looks like a total jackass putting them in the bin and posting a photo of it on social media. Super unprofessional and weird
No, you have to be honest even if you're paid millions for it. If it's don't work for you, you don't need to pretend if it's good for you. And he's still wearing another puma and it's work for him.
Josh can you make a video for people with wide feet? Im still looking for top end boots where i dont get midfoot cramping in and basically cant stand on the football boots
My son and I were big fans of the futre 6, but it seem that its deteriorating with 7 and now this. Sad really because they try to innovate but go in the wrong direction. I like the concept they released with nitro a few months ago. Also, Cucurella is a schmuck.
Honestly the massive weight increase is so insanely bad and unacceptable for a modern elite boot in 2024/25. How is this so bad compared to the ultra which is so good.
My assumption is Puma considers the extra weight acceptable because they're trying to make the Future their designated 'power' boot now. Everyone has fond memories of the Nike T90 Laser, which weighed about 270 grams.
So basically, they changed some good attributes of previous generation to worse. But also didn't improve poor heel lockdown, which I think is the major drawback of Future 7 🤦🏻
Does it even matter? He slandered a pair of Puma that were meant to be lasting for about 3 weeks on the market. No-one cares. Puma will release another model and people will forget
The fact that the video starts with "Stop slipping..." 😭😭🤣
😂

It's PUMA's fault having models like Cucurella. He sucks

Yeah, I was waiting on the 8 to be so much better than the 7 because of the Ultras. Now it is bye bye

@@Soccerreviewsforyou Future 8 - Dosent seems like a Ideal boot

Pure Grip Socks for Cucurella RIGHT NOW😂
Only cool puma futures were the first netfit boots and that limited white yellow Neymar boots
The THUMBNAIL! 😂 💯

The memes born from that cucurella slip will haunt Puma for not just now but also future releases😅

I was watching last Saturday and I thought: the Puma CEO must not be happy 😁😁😁
Ngl I was hoping for some evopower vigor vibes from those foam pods under the synthetic upper 😢
Anything even remotely close to the evoPOWER would have been amazing! These are unfortunately nothing like it though.
Thought Puma would sue Cucurella after that SNS post. Doesn't he get paid to model the product?

Nothing like those unfortunately.
It's shocking that there has been no visible Puma backlash on Cucurella

Puma at this point is a brand that can make one step forward but will make a dozen step backwards
The Future line is pretty much as good as dead
Anyone remember how good the future 5.1s were. They were the best .
Rip netfit 😢😢
Guys at puma are too nice if he had done something similar to nike or adidas he would have been without a sponsor by now
🥲🥲that knit looks so good tho

Here's exactly that video th-cam.com/video/_S6Yzy36Nok/w-d-xo.html
What do you prefer more? The Puma Ultra 5 Ultimate or Future 8 Ultimate?
Ultra 5 Ultimate by far! One of the best “speed” boots on the market IMO
Happens once, player's fault, happens twice with the player playing superb after switching, boots fault
What about when you kick the back of your own heel?
@@Soccerreviewsforyou wow a comment from the man himself 🥹🥹 lol didn't think of that one bro nice one 🤣🤣. Great video as usual 👍🏿👍🏿
So if this goes on sale for like $70, is it still a good deal?
At the end of the day, they don't fit well and aren't comfortable. Cheap or not, that's not what I want from a pair of football boots.
@Soccerreviewsforyou yikes, that bad huh?
6:12 so less grippy than the speedboots? Puma has thrown all common sense through the window

so you buy this on looks alone and if it does not perform, well, then don't complain.
They’re ugly too so I don’t see a point in buying these

Hi!!
Roasting Puma future 8 the video :
Nike magista
This has to be the worst boot release in the last 20 years, so much negativity associated with it and honestly even on paper they look terrible😂
If Cucurella want to switch brands, he might go for Adidas....
Does it even matter? He slandered a pair of Puma that were meant to be lasting for about 3 weeks on the market. No-one cares. Puma will release another model and people will forget
Bad marketing still marketing tho 💀
This boot has turned to crap. Did all their good designers leave?
Yeah they can stay in the bin 🤣

I'm wearing the King Pros over these for sure.
@ pumas are the only cleats i’ve worn because of my wide foot, it’s sad they have been getting more expensive and worse
I'm tired of PUMA fkin up
It sucks because they're capable of making amazing football boots! Ultras are great right now!
@Soccerreviewsforyou how can their control boots grip less than their speed ones?
Cucurella ⛸️🛼🎿😡
He slipped because he didn’t had SG boots on grass who is wet with water that all…why make a big deal of that ? 😐😐😐😐😐😐🫤🫤 find new idea please
