Is good to see you. Day by day you make a lot of diferent things, I suposse that in spring you will make a new shelter. Thanks for the videos and showing your work. Olive is almost invisible in the snow
I just love to watch those big beautiful sliding doors operate! Reminds me of the amazing journey of the saw mill shelter build-still an epic in Hidden Spring Farm recently history! Polar Vortex got us here in old Virginia too. ❄️☃️ Anxiously awaiting Spring! Have a great week!🌷🌿👩🏻🌾🙏
I've never used a sawmill but I love your content so much I still find it interesting😂 You could upload a video doing something extremely mundane and I'd still watch & love it!
Good morning Chad and Ms. Olive - Enjoyed the video. You make work look fun. lol I am also enjoying the snow. Look forward to Thursday video. Give Ms. Olive a hug and tell Darlin hello for me. Have a fun week.
think the idea with the shims are to align the centre of the powerhead motor with the axle shaft from the lifting mechanism so that they don't bind on you and cause additional wear on the powerhead bearings or the lifting mechanism shaft bearings. I would think that you should be able to slide the little gear-wheel into the white bushing freely when you get the alignment right with the right amount of shims and the bolts tightened down to spec, then you should be able to rotate the power head shaft to align the holes for the roll pin. 👍 But it looks like you got it all figured out. 🙂
@@Dingbat217 you’re definitely right. And on top of that this woodland mills brand power head says it’s for the hm126 and hm130 and in the manual it has a section for if your mill is older than 2019 so they most likely included lots of shims depending on which model you have. Mine is the hm136 which was fairly easy to install and was happy it all worked out in the end. Appreciate the comment 😁
Geez, 🙄 I would need a manual for the manual instructions! What a wonderful compliment to yourself to be able to work comfortably in the winter! Still don’t have snow yet where I am, but it’s cold. It looks so pretty with the snowy background and Olive waiting patiently for you to finish so she can have you all to herself 😇
I live in north Georgia. I love your videos. Right now they remind me of growing up in Michigan, tending to our various animals in winter. Thank you for your channel. Totally interesting and fun. You both work so hard and enjoy it.
Always great to watch your channel. It makes my day! On previous show you asked about cat food. , all I can tell you is that they need plenty of protein vitamins and minerals, no grains, that is no good for them. What I can say is to read ingredients on the bag. The first 5 ingredients must be proteins I might have discovered your potato problem. You need deep wide containers I will send more info if you want. Especially for a raised beds. That could help you
Just started watching your videos and honestly you have a great setup! Well done. All your animals/pets are great ! Fozzy the chonker is my favourite, considering a stay at the farm house in the summer.
Good morning Chad!😊💜✨ Thank you for sharing this video! Boy the snow is back! More plowing tomorrow morning..☺️😆stay warm.. God bless! See you next time.
Yes I need to look for one. I’ve made a few cuts in the past few months where it looked nice and level but when I actually cut it wasn’t. The laser would have prevented it.
You and Darlin’ Remy broaden my horizons! A couple in our suburb operate a Filipino restaurant in downtown Richmond and will bring make a neighborhood group delivery. Love the pancit and lumpia! Eager to try my own versions inspired by Remy’s obvious love for creating the cuisine. Have been considering growing Ampayala and okra for quite a while.🫣Something for everyone on your vlog. 🥰😻
I didn’t think a magnet would be strong enough so I drilled a hole, painted the hole and bolted a hook. Works fairly well, very little sawdust overspray.
Personally I'm only interested to see your animals 😉 I love your videos about them. Please show how you look after your rabbits and what you feed them too. Thank you
@@marnitoyserkani2449 I can appreciate that, although my channel is about all things to do with small farm life. Building, maintaining, growing, raising meat is all part of the adventure. I’ll actually be doing a small reno in the rabbitat this spring so that’ll be fun 🤙
How about getting a big thermometer for the saw mill so we can see how cold it is in there. Fahrenheit preferred for the US viewers. My hero, no gloves.
Hello Chad I am just wondering what you didn’t put a hard ground in your shelter it would be more convenient (anyway to me)? Sorry if m’y question sounds silly but don’t forget I know nothing in DIY 🙃
@@ddarivan9864 well if I had a concrete pad done it wouldn’t have been something I could do myself, I’d have to hire a contractor for that. It would have been a lot of work leveling out the ground digging down laying gravel, rebar and poured concrete. More importantly it probably would have added over 10k to the overall cost. Not a huge advantage in my opinion. The most expensive thing on this build is the metal roofing, approx 5k but apart from some lumber and bolts/screws/nails etc I maybe spend 7k for all the material so if I wanted to add a concrete pad I couldn’t have done it last fall as it wasn’t in the budget 😉
@@GETCH1-hz9fq9bw9b well I don’t think one can know exactly cause it depends on so many factors like dirt in the bark, ice, type of wood etc. the first blade was able to mill 13 logs but those logs had been sitting for 2 years and cut very easily. Today’s log was binding the blade a bit as I was pushing and it probably needs a blade change, it’s done only 8 logs but were all freshly cut trees. I haven’t sharpened any blades yet as I figure I’ll wait till I have a bunch of dull ones and do them all at once, I did buy the sharpener though.
Goodmorning Chad and company ! Hope your doing good at the end of this polar vortex❄️ I’m thinking of starting my own channel this week, any tips for a newbie ?
Things are ok here. Being a creator, everyone’s journey to success is different. Best to be comfortable in front of the camera as my first 150 videos I’m way more awkward than I am now. Be consistent, you can’t just put out a video whenever you can…you gotta be committed cause viewers could lose interest in following you. Have a bunch of videos done in advance and ready to be published so you’re always ahead of the game. It’s easy to run out of content and stories so have a longer term plan for your channel. Be sure to have thick skin cause lots of negative comments of people not agreeing with you on things. Best of luck if you do decide 😉
Watched the whole of this series and I'm totally in awe of what you have achieved 👍. Such a fantastic use of space and time. You should be proud of yourself bud. I was thinking maybe you could do with some led lighting under there to extend your day. And you could compress your sawdust into fire logs too. Such a privilege to watch this channel thankyou so much for your labours Chad ..... Iain from England.

Yes, I figure it can’t be more complicated than the mill itself the manual is an inch thick.
Your saw mill operation is tops. Love to see the saw in action. Olive is her precious self. Be safe😊
glad you enjoyed it.

Wow really great Job.
Good video! I'm trying (and failing) to see how you attached your sawdust bucket. Is it with a hook that's screwed into the housing or a magnetic one?

I'm curious, what is your process in deciding which side to square up first? 😊
In this case I judged by the curve of the log. But in s straight log case I don’t think it matters just as long as it’s as square as can be.
