Mini owner here. These cars are sooo underrated, especially in US. Don't buy a Mini if you're not gonna drive it on canyon/twisty roads. The amount of speed that you can carry with this car through a corner is just amazing. There is no "turbo lag" and torque is so linear through the whole rev range. Combine this all with a "go cart feeling" and I honestly don't know how can you make a car more fun. It's raw and it has vibrations and sounds. That's something that car enthusiast likes about this car. But there will always be people like: "oh dude that car is too small" "oh dude you don't have enough horses for my Hellcat" etc. They don't realize that this car is not for straight line. Mini was and always will be a fun go-cart car to drive. This car gives you absolute control to do what ever you want to with it. And for the tuning there is a big aftermarket for this car because basically people realized it's potential as a car that you can race on the weekend and it will not hurt your wallet. I had 2003 Cooper S and changed it for 2003 Cooper S JCW (200 HP kit). GP edition is going up in price as well as JCW (but less). And please go drive one if you have a chance and you will see what Mini is all about. And skip GEN2 if you wanna buy one (bad engine), go for GEN3 or GEN1. The newest GEN4 should also be fine (I hope so).
@@ChrisManjurisnot to mention they are super tuneable cuz 3rd gens are detuned bmw engines out of factory 😴 one software remap can get it to 290hp with no supporting mods it’s a super sleeper
You do get a JCW Mini cooper R53 with 215Bhp. Then you get the GP addition only 2000 units were built with 218Bhp and track setup. Then you have your mini cooper s r53 with 170Bhp.
