I work with outlook, with access (with heavy data) with youtube for background music, with teams to chat with work colleagues, at the same time without any problem. The only change I made, I changed the RAM card from 8 ghz to 16 with only 30 euro.bye
after testing the 2020 macbook pro, the 2020 huawei matebook x and pro and also the 2020 razer blade stealth I finally bought a T470s (i7, 24GB RAM 512GB nvme, LTE, fingerprint - full spec) and what should I say, as always, if you need a workhorse and really work with your laptop, nothing beats a thinkpad.
Nope. The Problem in my opinion is Not the Power ... The other Laptops are way more powerful. My Problem was the Aluminium Body and the Keyboard. And the lower price of the ThinkPad (because its a used one) I can throw IT around and dont need a case because of scratches and auch Things. And the Aluminium Palmrest scratches very fast With a Metal watch
I've just bought one with same spec as yours plus touch for 280€. It'll be my 1st thinkpad, I think for the price it beats anything sold in stores for similar money. Im excited 🙂
@@relaxingsound8830 renewed, former corporate laptop. They're barely any signs of use, batteries are a bit weak but all in all it was a good deal. I'm still amazed how well it runs everything I need for dual core machine
@The Heart yes and I'm still amazed how well it runs and feels. Super fluid for browsing, watching movies and work. If you can find t480 for decent price then that would be even better choice since it has 4cores but if not t470 or t470s in my case is really great, you'll be surprised
Just got mine a couple of weeks ago, a second hand Core i5 7300U, 16GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. The only down side for me is there is no extra SSD Sata port inside for more disk space. The only way to extend the capacity is to upgrade the M.2 drive. The rest is so perfect for me! I'm just an average user.
I just got one of these for alil under 500...I have to say the screen is pretty underwhelming but other than that this a really solid little B laptop. Very satisfied with this purchass.
Keyboard of my t450s just died. Just bought a t470s with 16GB ram in a nearly new condition for 400€ on Ebay. Hopefully comes in 2 days. Maybe I can repair the old one and sell it for 300€ lol it's actually a top t450s 12gb ram, 1TB ssd, FHD, still in good condition...
These are all dual cores, the next generations (T/E/L480) have quad cores and are getting close in price. Worth consideration because these old CPUs get blown away when you double core count

@@hipster2283 T480s cost 780€-900€... yeah that's stupidly expensive for something like that. I didn't expect the prices to such big differences between Europe and the US. Most of the time the prices are very similar for stuff like this. :/

I am sure you would have bought one already, if not, go for Lenovo T470s with i7 processor. You can increase its memory up to 24GB and it is a fine laptop. In the refurbished market, it is very cheap.
I have an old Dell laptop with the same 7200u and 8GB of ram. Wondering if I slap a sata SSD in it if it would be good enough as a school computer i.e. Office, Google Drive, ect. Don't really want to dish out another grand for another laptop. What do you guys think?
@@magenta864 I ended up slapping a 1TB 870 EVO in it and changed the 2x4GB ram out for a 2x8GB kit. Also did a fresh install of windows and it runs very well for being a $350 laptop I bought 4 years ago. The CPU still has its limits but runs light stuff surprisingly well.

I can get a refurbished T470s for 800 USD/670 Euro (Im situated in scandinavia, everything is a bit more expensive here). It has i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz, 16 GB Ram, 512 SSD - in a Grade C condition and 1 year guarantee. I get the feeling that this is a bit expensive?
It has an i7 + 16GB ram thats pretty good. Price mostly depends on how beat up the laptop case is. I would always look for a cheap one with little wear, right amount of ram and good cpu. All the other stuff can be upgraded without too much money.

This thing looks flimsy as all hell. You could probably break it in half with your hands. I wouldn't want to drop it. Knowing me I'd be replacing this thing in a week.
Well, after handling quite a few laptops I can say that the T-series Thinkpads (including this T470s) are pretty sturdy, they use high quality materials.

As a PC tech for 25+ years, the Lenovo would be the best choice for longevity and reliability. Which one did you decide on?

It doesn't have an optical drive. Most new generation laptops don't have optical drives so it can be slimmer
