Thanks for stopping by the channel and the sub Edgar. Here is another longer clip about this knife. Take care. th-cam.com/video/7trD7cb3E9k/w-d-xo.html
Good morning and thanks for stopping by Dark Dawn👍🙏. I think the term dagger is correct when it comes to the shape of this one but the exact definition appears to be a Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife, resembling a dagger. Take care and have a great week.
All daggers are knives but not all knives are daggers. This is a dagger shape but by definition it's a "fighting knife" using the term dagger is redundant.
No, it's called a knife, it is a dagger (which is still a knife) but in the source material it's still called a "fighting knife", hell some models have the world's fighting knife stamped on them
That's a great blade. But I saw two versions. One with the concave groove, and the other one with convex ridge. Anybody know which one is the true F. Sykes knife, and its advantage? Thanks.
Thanks for stopping by the channel Engin 👍. I had a look online and honestly I did not find a definitive answer. I have a longer clip for this knife maybe you might get some addition Info from that. here is the link. th-cam.com/video/7trD7cb3E9k/w-d-xo.html Take care and have a great week
I believe there were 3 “patterns”.. this one I’m pretty sure is a 3rd pattern going by the rings on the handle. The fighting knife is available (or was) at a manufacturer in Edinburgh
Good evening Kyle and thanks for stopping by the channel. It was developed in 1941 by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes in Shanghai based on ideas that the two men had while serving on the Shanghai Municipal Police in China before World War II. Also in 1941, it was put in production by Wilkinson Sword Ltd UK. Here is another clip on my channel of this knife. Take care. th-cam.com/video/7trD7cb3E9k/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for stopping by the channel Gary. This one here is not for sale. Here is another clip with a much better look at this knife. Take care and have a great weekend.👍👍☀ th-cam.com/video/7trD7cb3E9k/w-d-xo.html
Good morning Brad and thanks for stopping by👍👍. I would have to disagree here. It appears that the provenance is real on this one. I am not the owner but I have questioned the owner and all looks legitimate. Still, I don't exclude you being right. I have a longer clip on the channel of this one that might give you a better view. th-cam.com/video/7trD7cb3E9k/w-d-xo.html . Have a look. Take care and enjoy the weekend.☀☀

Both are accurate to models produced during war time. There are different models made, so honestly it's up to what you want out of the knife.
