I Think this is the perfect solution for LS swaps NA and boosted up to the recommended power levels. Definitely makes upgrading the fuel pump in your 82-92 Camaro or Firebird a snap. Also perfect complement to that trap door mod that all the purists seem to hate so much. 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍

They make nice stuff. Love my 340 pump. They are about 5 miles down the road from me. Great people.

That's a nice piece I just ended up welding an12 bungs on the bottom of my tank for the feed and return for my turbo setup

This will be helpful! Note: Moving my cherry picker to the side was great advice - it centers over the engine that way - thanks!

That's a great looking piece 👌 that should supply more than enough fuel to the surge tank for sure 👍

awesome video brother!!! i am late to the game. i just bought a 92' rs with a bad fuel pump. I thinking about wether to just replace the pump and accessories or the whole sending unit. The car has its original 305 for now but an ls swap is in the future (5.3/in about 5yrs or so). how much was this sending unit?? how much is the sending unit?? i must have missed it in the video.

Sorry bout you getting the Covid now you. An. Eat it , how to do wires on a Egr delete I’ve already blocked it off and threw it away then keep getting a code on it and pressure sensor, I’m thinking it’s hooked into 5 volt circuit might be why I’m not getting power to fuel pump relay . If you up to it would love to hear what you think more interested in wires what do I do with them.

You'll need to have the code disabled in the tune. I dont think that would cause youre fuel pump not to work though. Thats most likely a wiring or ground issue somewhere.

It sucks your stuck buying a pump with it. I already have that exact 340 pump on my factory sending unit and like CC my fuel gauge doesn't work, must be a 3rd gen thing lol! Awesome video as always.

Did you run your vent to the one way valve? Also where did you run your ground wire to? Thanks

Yes and to the body. Check out my “1500 hp fuel system” video for details.

Just ordered same setup. 6an fitting size on sending unit. Instructions say -8an size for carb set up. I am running a carb. 6an or 8an. ??? 550hp NA.

I’d ask Aeromotive. I really don’t see any reason to use a larger diameter line just because it’s carbed.

@@BadLuckGarage what fuel regulator u recommend for me. Using same pump/sending unit u have but going into a 383ci. Carb setup.

We’re running an Aeromotive knockoff I got on eBay for $35. It came with 2 springs…one for low pressure carb applications, and one for high pressure efi applications. This cars making around 900hp now and that cheap regulator has performed flawlessly for almost 2 years now. You can see it in my most recent video. th-cam.com/video/7JCxyd6M_7o/w-d-xo.html

Couldn't you just split the vent to the charcoal cannister and axle vent or delete the axle vent all together?

    • @BadLuckGarage

You can do whatever you want to your car. We chose to do it the correct way as recommended by Aeromotive.

wish a company made a kit for the 98 cars

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

They do. I believe its P/N 18072 or something like that. Same setup and options but for the 4th gens.

Nevermind. Thats for the 93-97. But the 98-02 has a huge opening and the bucket can be modified to fit pretty much any pumps you want fairly easily.

I’m really not a fan of having the pump sitting horizontal in the tank. I guess if you trust your gas gauge and never let it get below 1/2 tank it might work ok.
But even at 1/4 tank it’s too easy due to fuel slosh to uncover the pickup.

This is just the pullup pump for the surge tank so it doesn't matter. Thats the entire point of a surge tank. This pump can suck all the air it wants and as long as the surge tank has fuel in it, it wont effect a thing. I’d also like to add that placement in a 3rd gen tank doesn’t get any better than this. This hanger places the bottom of the pump all the way at the bottom and rearmost point of the sump. Perfect for keeping it covered under heavy acceleration, even with less than a 1/4 tank. 👍
