    I just got the AWOL 3500 after having the Optoma short throw (very good) and the Xiaomi (spelling?) So is the AWOL worth the price? Absolutely! It is the brightest UST I have ever seen and the picture quality is insanely good. The AWOL also supports 3D and does so with superior results. I have found myself going through loads of my 4K and 3D discs and sitting in amazement!

      I agree. Projectors are more compact and it will save companies billions of dollars from exporting and storing heavy tvs. Also - think about the thosands of Tvs that are laying in rubbish dumps. Projector technology is simple for the average consumer to operate on as well. I have changed bulbs/color wheel and fixed my own sound for my projector in less than an hour.

    I have the 2500 and it has acceptable brightness in a light controlled room like my theater Room. I'm glad I got it and not the 3500 because for my use, I don't need the extra lumens. It's plenty bright in a dark room.

    • @theunkownmr.562
      @theunkownmr.562 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually, I take it back. After watching House of Dragons 🐉 the projector doesn't have the lumens for the dark scenes. It's very hard to see what's going on with the lumen output being so low. 3500 is definitely a must!

    I can’t believe how many people still rock the Logitech Z5500s. I still use mine too. They are like brand new and I bought them when they first came out. I think I paid around 500.00 for them and for a while I also used them as my TV surrounds until I moved to Atmos with the Pioneer VSX-LX 503 and Andrew Jones Pioneer Elite 5.2.4 setup and my subs are dual SVS PB1000s. The sound is incredible now. But my Z5500s are still being used but now for my fully built SIM racer.

    • @vimalmoorti10
      @vimalmoorti10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has the sound improved dramatically. I tried atmos and for my smaller room I actually preferred the logitech z5500 sound. I tried atmos with a demon x4500. But everytime I wanted to slightly adjust rears center or the sub it was so annoying. Logitech is super simple to adjust levels depending on content. I just use different speakers which resulted in a great upgrade with my logitech. And it’s the most perfect sounding system I’ve ever heard. Paired it with bass shakers to get to those 20hz levels and it’s amazing

    • @dirtyminerapparel
      @dirtyminerapparel ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vimalmoorti10 yes the sound of these speakers and the receiver is no comparison. Setup is pretty easy with the mic and just needed a little fine tuning but the movement of objects in movies with this Atmos is another world of sound.
      I have the towers in the front with the large center channel and the bookshelves for the rear with the Atmos also built in and it’s crazy.
      But the Logitech’s hold their own everywhere else in my opinion.

    • @vimalmoorti10
      @vimalmoorti10 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dirtyminerapparel that’s awesome. What subs do you use with it? I’ve yet to hear an atmos system that makes me say wow. Cause I love my system so much. All audio that is atmos I just have it transcoded to 5.1 and sounds great

    • @dirtyminerapparel
      @dirtyminerapparel ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vimalmoorti10 I have dual SVS PB1000s. They are a ported 10” sub and they put out more bass than our Z5500 sub does. I think it’s about the enclosure size and throw of the driver.
      I wasn’t sold on Atmos until I heard these speakers. I play everything on Apple TV 4K over ARC.

    • @vimalmoorti10
      @vimalmoorti10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice overall projector. However, the cabinet with the drawer and fans seems pointless. I can understand the fans if the cabinet drawer is closed and the projector was projecting through a glass panel like other cabinets, but if it is open, what is the point? Also, the VIvidstorms has many unhappy reviews that state the ALR properties are poor compared to the cost, and the screen comes off the mechanism often or has sag. I don’t see the point of this type of screen unless you have a regular TV behind it. Just having a blank wall behind the retractable screen make no sense to me. To each their own I guess.

    Given you tried few UST projectors like Vava, Xiaomi 2k/4k, Wemax and this new AWOL, how would you rate an experience in absolute numbers? Like the difference between VAVA and AWOL could be noticeable, but if I am new in the world of UST projectors and is in doubt if I want to invest 6k (considering screen bundle and taxes when delivering to EU). When compared to Mi 4k for 1.5k EUR, I wonder how would I feel the 4.5k USD/EUR difference visually)) I guess you have two projectors in use at the moment, so how you feel switching between them?

    • @NexiTech

      Hi Nikolay! Since you are new to the UST world and you don't want to invest too much money at once, I would say go with the Xiaomi 1S 4K UST projector and 100 inch fixed frame UST ALR screen. That combination would give you the best value/performance for money. I ordered this type of screen and same projector from a Banggoood and make video reivew for it you can found them on my channel, Anyway here is the purchase links:

      Xiaomi Mijia 1S 4k Laser Projector - www.banggood.com/custlink/3mmYAC6WLA

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I have 4 of them in the house :) Two of them in this room and two upstairs. I'm a big fan of the good old Z5500 especially if you are good with soldering you can replace some caps and few chips on their amp and make them sound much better. These two Z5500 are connected with Y splitting optical cable to the projector. I did try with Y splitting Pod cable but I had the problem and it almost burn out the amp in one Z5500 so I'm sticking with the optical cable splitter for now. It's more safe plus I can control both systems separately as I like it.

      I did my best to mimic what my eyes can see but it's not that easy with consumer cameras. Black levels are good but not OLED good.

      In real life the blacks are nowhere near as good as shown here. Perhaps as good as an older LCD TV. Detail in the dark scenes is good though, and the colors are great.

    Hate that most UST reviews (including this one) show ambient light performance with a video having bright scenes. The real test is dark scenes with lights on, no one seems to do it as it shows the projection in a bad light (pun intended) but is actually crucial when doing comparisons.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to disappoint you but shooting a dark scene with consumer cameras is way out of league compared to human eyes. The comparison would not be fair and you would get a wrong/bad impression. This is the best I could do. You need to see it in person to get the real thing.

    • @TanmaySonawane
      @TanmaySonawane ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NexiTech And showing just bright scenes where every single UST excels is fair?
      Just controlling exposure to bring it close enough to what human eye sees is enough. You can then use the same settings/lightning in other projector reviews and then have a baseline for comparison. HDR is actually more useful in dark scenes, you completely miss out on showcasing that.

    This is a 0.47DMD chipset projector. Theoretically 4k, but the actual resolution is slightly better than 1080p. 0.66 chipset projectors are almost equivalent to 4k.

    • @NexiTech
      @NexiTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are so many debate and tons of discussion about 0.47DMD VS 0.66DMD VS native 4K so I will not start another debate here. All I will say that image quality and resolution are fantastic and I can't see individual pixels even from up close so I say it's 4K as far I'm concerned.

    • @hangkooshin3170
      @hangkooshin3170 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I knew the debate. so I wanted to check by my own eyes. I bought two projectors - Optoma uhd51(0.47 4k) and uhd65 (0.66 4k) uhd 51 is almost same with my old panasonic 1080p projector on 150" screen. But UHD 65 was noticeably better than both projectors . I returned uhd51

      @@geraldnaruto Ok I understand your question but you do understand that it's impossible for me to answer on your question. It has to many variables. Like: How many degrees celsius is the air temperature on your projector intake and exhaust? What is your room temperature? Room size? Temperature outside? Type and specs of air-condition? Room ventilation? In what climate you live? House insulation? Forget it my friend it's way too many variables to take into account. I'm just been honest :)

    This seems like a nice projector, but something I don't understand is why you're spending thousands of dollars on projectors and automated cabinets, and yet you only have mediocre speakers like the Logitech Z-5500? Also your room seems to have no acoustic treatment at all with exposed hard surfaces on both walls and floors, which tells me that the sound experience in this home cinema is likely quite horrible.
    Is this something you're going to work on later, or what is the reason for this imbalanced budgeting/focus?

      Aesthetically it looks beautiful but I totally agree, a setup like this should be balanced... a visual display like this should compliment the audio and vice versa! Considering I love my 2-channel music more than my movie time. For me, if anything speakers are more important than the visuals, hence the reason why I actually went the other way round...
