And this is why I trust my Paclock 90A-Pro as a gym lock haha. My gym changeroom requires a keycard to access that standard gym membership does not get you, so you have to pay for a premium membership, plus there's always staff going in and out, and with the difficulty of picking this lock, I'm very comfortable using it to protect my valuables. Meanwhile my friend uses a cheapo combo lock that I could shim open in about 5 seconds. Only issue is the Paclock costs the price of the lock just to ship it to Canada. So a $30-40 lock becomes like $60-70 CAD. But when I'm protecting hundreds of dollars worth of clothing and electronics, I think it's worth the price. But I need to buy a second one to practise picking on now though haha.
Picked the 90A Pro (one more pin) in hand December of 2022. I only remember, because I completely botched the gutting (pins flying and springs bent). Ordered two pro cores from Paclock and explained what happened. They were nice enough to send me extra pins and springs with my order. Great people.
Great demonstration. Cool idea to use the plug spinner. I've not done this on padlocks for fear of wrecking them, but it is a good option to keep in mind. With any lock I usually forget that picking counter clockwise is a valid option. Just too used to picking clockwise. Cheers
Very interesting! Very well done. Lock picking lawyer picks these in the regular rotation. Makes it look simple. I have one of these and I have yet to be able to pick it. Hell I still can’t pick my American 1100/5200 padlocks, even with a Lishi tool. Going to keep trying though. For some reason it relaxes me.
This was awesome. Thanks for sharing. My paclocks are affectionately known as the crunchy a-holes. Picking around the guard to the left was brilliant. Obviously there are dragons when doing that depending on the lock. It’s a good way to brick or drop pins if you go too far or get caught up on unknowns.
Once again another great video, thank you! Would you be able to share the make model of your plug spinner? I’ve been in the market and find such a variety, yours seems very straight forward. As always, thanks for supporting the community!
this is just a peterson plug spinner, but it is way over priced, i paid $50 for it almost 7 years ago or further back, and now they are $85 I believe. any cheap plug spinner will work fine. Thanks for watching!!
Very nice Sandman...Saw Bosnian Bill do that too...I have a AL 1105 that I've been fighting me for a few months and I think this might be the ticket...Thanks man!
Extremely helpful video! I have to ask - I always feel like I’m putting too much pressure on my pick. I think I like a bit heavier tension. It looks like you’re using pretty strong pick pressure. Am I mistaken or would you say that’s some pretty strong pick pressure you’re using?
I use heavy tension to feel for a binding pin, then back off as I try to set it. How much I back off depends on the type of security pin. Some require more counter rotation than others. But I’m feeling the feedback and adjusting my tension based on the feedback the driver pin is giving me. When that pin is set, I apply more tension again so I don’t drop that pin and so I can feel for a new binder. It’s called “variable tension”.
This now has me somewhat afraid for when I pick a 90A Pro as part of my Blue Belt submission...especially because I don't own a plug spinner! Fingers crossed when I get it though!
90a pro is the blue belt? Just a thought, my very limited experience with the pac lock and even the American 1100 (not tag out) is that some of them need feather light tension. Most of them I crank down on though. Like your trick.
This is a 90A it’s a green belt. The 90A pro is a seven pin, it is a blue belt. Feather light tension is a noobie myth for 1100s. Advanced Lock pickers give that advice to new pickers because they don’t understand how much rotational force they are applying and they don’t understand variable tension. I use heavy tension, then back off when the pen is ready to set.
@@sandman_locksport interesting. I thought I was doing it wrong because it worked on one AM lock I was struggling with. I appreciate the advice. Keep the vids coming!
the driver pins are 'serrated' and spooled. the serrated pins give fall feedback, telling you that they are set, when they are not, and sometimes, when you set a spool pin, due to counter rotation, and so much movement in the plug, you drop the other pins that were already set, so its a game of cat and mouse until you get the combination or 'binding order' just right.
That’s thinking outside the box! I’d love to take a crack at that 90. I use the pin jiggle method and it works for my 90A-Pro. It also does the whack-a-mole, pin waterfall when setting the deep false set spool, but then I run back through the pins and usually get an open when I get to pin 7. 🥷
Watching it back now, I have this exact same issue with matlocks but don't have a plug spinner so guess I know where my next paycheck is going 😂 only problem is the keyway and plug guard is exact same as the AL1100 so don't think it'll work

Brilliant demonstration of showing alot of patients to get into this lock. Thanks for sharing again another great tutorial and challenge. cheers.

Don’t give up. And listen to some relaxing music, it will prolong the time you’re able to practice.
I felt the same way with orange belt lock master lock 570. The cylinder overturned if you picked in the wrong order.
I wonder if this will help make things quicker with the 90a pro. My plug spinner has not been used once.

The 6 pin Paclocks are great!
Very cool. Love your vids. If I’m ever in Austin…-Go Army!

This makes sense on 6 pins as while the AM-5 Lishi fits, you can use it to open if I remember right.
This is a method I have used on American padlocks Master Padlocks as well.

great job im going to try that on some of my other locks

Interesting, had never thought of that as a possibility 😎👍
I’ve posted a video a while back using this method it’s very handy.
Glad to help

you'll get it, I just suck, however... there is a second trick i can give you, i will release tomorrow, check it out!!

Good job. Do a video on the belt system
I already did.

Heavy tension on the 1100’s until you get that false set, followed by light tension when setting the spool. This is the way…
@@joefurry5089 this is the way

What type of plug spinner do you use?
It's a Peterson spinner.
Darn it… Now I want a plug spinner! Which do you recommend? 🙏
Any of them will do! I can’t recommend Peterson because it’s $80. It’s not worth it. I purchased it back when it was only 50.
I don't understand something, aren't all the pins independent? Why do you have to go back and reset pins over and over?
Thanks, for the videos.
