  • Privet is one of my favorite deciduous species for Bonsai . I got the love for it from my friend Graham Potter from UK who almost 20 years ago gave me a nice one from his collection. On this episode I restyle one from my friend Robert trying to highlight the beautiful character of the material . Privet is very strong and with some easy tricks we can develop it in a beautiful bonsai very fast !!!

Mauro, thanks about the water tray tip, my privet is not as gnarly as yours but does have a 10 inch nebari, I am waiting for ramification to build on my tree, after seeing your trees I can now see the journey my tree needs to take.

Gracias Mario, me encantan tus videos.

He does not need Tanuki, have such a great quality yamadory trees that tanuki has no sense..... I think tanuki is more related with special feeling with a particular tree that has died and has a so great trunk that have to be given a second life because of its power and the great feeling involved on it

Israel Hernández I was referring to his younger days and wondered if he had any videos of the ART that tanuki is after all bonsai is art and what better way to demonstrate it than taking two separate entities putting them together so even the most experienced eye can’t tell !!! All bonsai are fake even yamadory have to be worked styled and carved !! Thanks for the comment regards Matt
