That’s the future you’re looking at, right there. Don’t think EVs will ever completely replace the combustion engine but I’ve got to admit this is impressive.
Oh they will completely replace ICE for all practical purposes and sooner than you think. Cost of ownership will win the day, always does.
They will. Most brands will be all electric by 2030.

I am an Audi guy, but I prefer the design of the Taycan.. more clean lines. Maybe I feel different when I see it in person though.

This car has a hatch like design at the back, you'd then think the boot would open like a hatch but it doesn't. Costs as much as a small house lol.
Very rarely I’ll get a bit of help from a camera person but editing wise it’s all me. My real job is a radio presenter.
His previous job was a fluffer.

Great review Nobby, it'll be interesting to see what Bob Flavin makes of it as I'm going to watch it next. I doubt if I'll ever own one and despite the car that it is and my previous debates over range it's not bad for what it is. I think I'd go with the 19's if I was buying one as the 21's will be like rubber band tyres though like I said it's very unlikely I will as I'm not that well healed. Fabulous looking car and a great insight into the future for no doubt some of the technology will filter down to cheaper cars eventually.
Just watching Bob's vid now, I think he likes it too :)
Nice review! Is this car equiped with the Bang & Olufsen sound system? I see there is some extra space in the trunk and just wondering if the B&O sound system will eat into that extra space.
This didn’t have B&O but is an option. The sub may make that boot even smaller alright.

Thanks. I'm not sure what sort of press offering Porsche do in Ireland to be honest. I wouldn't say no!!

Understandable. Others may not want to ‘stand out’ as much. There’s Audi GT flash and then there’s Porsche flash - it’s different level ! :)

It’s wide, it’s snug in the inside, the boot is a bit small. But would any of that bother me? Nahhhhhhh

I enjoy your reviews I bought a Kia stinger based on your review .. its a diesel, mind ya i Mapped it and put 4 pipes plus the 19 wheels from the 3.3 petrol & then an electronic exhaust to make it sound like an exotic 😌
Does the charge port have a power open option like the Taycan? Did you happen to notice the front center arm rest I’ve heard it’s pretty much nonexistent.
Push required for the port. Armrest doesn't rise up like most Audi models but in terms of width, found it ok. Should be able to see it a little here th-cam.com/video/t6drn4PGnqA/w-d-xo.html

I don’t know who would spend €10k more on this than the entry Taycan
Porsche garages aren’t around Ireland though. Audi garages are everywhere do if you have a problem not far to go so that could be a dealbreaker

Price as tested?
102 K Base, as optioned probably around 110-115 K, it doesnt seem highly specified.
This one had upgraded wheels, air suspension, there could be a few other bits but nothing major so close-ish to the 102k.
Is it just me or are those rear lights too big?

Model 3 Performance, $56K with EPA Range 500+km, 0-60 = 3.1s.
Audi RS E-tron GT, $139K with WLTP Range 455km, 0-60 = 3.3s
Only thing Audi is better maybe looks luxurious? It looks amazing, but pay $90K more?

it's a longer TT, cramped and dingy. a definite pass if you are claustrophobic
Dingy it is not. Snug, yes.
EVs waste lots of time charging on road trips. Not to mention money spent on coffee and donuts while waiting.

The light grey plastic on the nose looks cheap.
It's nice in the flesh, the texture on it is cool.
Can upgrade the GT so that that panel is gloss black like the RS (at least here in the states).
Tesla model S is the more practical EV, hatch back and 3 people fit in the rear plus they have their own screen back there. Also a 2018 75D model S does 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds and that's not even a performance model.
It just doesn’t feel like the Audi on the inside.
@@NobbyOnCars oh well, I guess we'll see if VW group can make the transition from ICE to EV and still survive. Right now they still need solid ICE vehicle sales to stay in business. Cars like the GT are all well and good but they won't save the company.
its a toy .made to give u best emotions on ewery stomp on a trotle pedal , not a dayly family car for sure farr to mutch down sides on it
