1999 -2006 are the last good chevy according to my mechanic. I have 2002 Tahoe 5.3 328k A/c still works. Its oil pressure is 40 psi idling and 60psi about 60 mph. Got 302k out first transmission. Original transfer case, and axles. Yes, the paint/clearcoat is gone, misc. electrical issues (interior/mirror lights not working when you open the doors. ABS issues of course. It does the Vortech rattle when you first start it up. I've done the engine flush and run 1 quart of transmission fluid with the oil. Has helped some. Done all the regular stuff brakes, calibers, rotors, 1 alternator, 1 starter, shocks, plugs but still original coil packs except 1. I carry full coverage just waiting on the vehicle totaling accident over 6 years hasn't happen yet. I've avoided many accidents. My dad has 06 GMC SLE z71 with 98k, I want it one of these days. I'm not rushing hoping he'll live many more years, he's 76 currently and in great health.
