  • Located deep in the volcanic central Indo-Pacific Ocean, the Coral Triangle is a region of unrivalled richness, beauty, and biological importance. A true sense of adventure, masterful cinematography, and the expertise of some of the world’s leading marine biologists join forces in this three-part landmark documentary series.
In Episode 1, with help from the talented divers cinematographers, we learn how the region became so biodiverse through volcanic activity, shifting tectonic plates, and changing sea levels.

Be very careful in raja ampat diving near mangroves before dusk as a few people have been eaten by crocs at this time and no local will dive there

Thank you for sharing. We did find the background music too loud, irritating and distracting, while the narrator's voice wasn't loud enough. It'll be fantastic If that could be corrected. Otherwise, a wonderful video with excellent underwater photography!! 👏🏻 Thanks again!

    21:00 mins I believe I'm
    Seeing a nano tornado
When both the lip of the ocean meets the triangle
    Why does this occur
    And why is the sea
    Only 14 degrees

31:26 What a great "ecological" way of fishing? Well, let's be honest he breaks more corals in one swipe, than I have ever touched with my flippers accidentally. He places his "trap" not on sand, but right in the middle of a huge coral formation. He carries a large coral rock to stabilize it. That's not "ecological" fishing. As divers we have been educated to respect each inch of coral growth - because it takes a year to grow a half inch, unless it's bleached already. One volcanic eruption may destroy more than he alone does, but 270 million people can do a lot of damage. And they don't know understand "coral bleaching" comes from, because they don't see it "yet". they just need food.

Humans and other animal species are vulnerable. Our biggest fault (of the human species) is the arrogance to think that we have significance, or even that we can adjust the mechanisms by restricting natural fuels such as Oil and gas, which in reality are energy and organisms that have been stored in the earth from previous times. As human life is so short, rather than making futile protests and disruptions, people should enjoy what life they have and wonder at the marvels of nature. Humans are insignificant and we need to control our collective ego. No matter what humans do locally, nature will counter it and restore equilibrium in the bigger picture.
You see here that the undersea volcanic activity and spewing out of CARBON and other natural elements, gives an abundance of biological activity. CARBON is the main element of ALL Organic compounds and life itself.
