- Bury FC has been expelled from the English Football League after a proposed takeover fell through at the last minute.
They are the first club to be expelled since 1992 and Maidstone United.

Not modern football. It is called greed. And greed is not only killing football and other sports as well, it is doing much bigger harm. It is causing powerty in the world which again is the reason for many millions trying to leave their country. And this is only the start. As long as people do not even want to discuss the problem we are even further away from finding a solution.

As a Liverpool fan,I was disappointed about Bury FC just expelled.125 years of history over. It was my first time to see a team expelled because I was born in 2005. I hope there won't another team will expelled in the future.

I am a lifelong Barnsley F.C. fan, it is so sad that, Bury F.C. have gone out of business, it is like those fans have said, "Football isn't for the fans, it's a business, now". I remember, when my mates, and I walked from Barnsley to an away game, through the night, as Barnsley F.C. almost went out of business. Sad times, back then, and now Barnsley F.C. are a Championship club.

For those who are saying that the likes of Manchester clubs and Liverpool should have given them money and helped them. There are rules and regulations which disallow premier league club to give money to the epl clubs. Man City let bury fc use their training ground which is more than enough help plus they used it for 3 years but the epl made rules to prevent that from happening. So part of burys downfall was from the epl and the person who bought them for 1 pound.
I understand that Man Utd and Man City should have helped Bury but why is all the blame deflecting at them instead of the whole premier league it was only £750k-£1mil all the blame is on them and it’s not fair every club had the opportunity to help Bury including championship teams Arsenal could’ve helped Chelsea could’ve helped Liverpool’s could’ve helped(European champions they have lots of money) it’s not fair all the blame is on Man Utd and Man City

So as unfortunate the whole money and business aspect is, it’s necessary but I think it got out of hand especially since Neymar but that’s just my opinion

My heart goes out to all the Bury fans going though an unspeakable reality. 130 years of existence only to be closed in a blink of an eye. Their loyal fans made Bury football club what is is, not a tinpot millionaire.
I am hopeful that with a continued support, a new team will rise from the ashes in the very near future. The football club needed more time to find a suitable owner who loves Bury football club. Bury is a club who play good football, who beat all the odds last season getting promotion, and have won the FA Cup. But sadly because of money and poor management the club is no more! devastating....
What has happened to Bury, will happen to other clubs in the future no doubt. So what does the future of English league football look like? Will it consist of Premier League under 21 or B teams to make up the numbers? (Which would be a travesty) Who will be next, and can anything be done to stop this ever happening again?
Let's be honest, without money where would Man City be now? Since 2008 Man City have spent £1.4 billion on over 70 players. Without the financial backing they would be in exactly the same position as Bury right now.
I hope Bury can come back somehow, so their beloved fans can support THEIR TEAM once more with pride 😥

Clubs being liquidated is always sad to see. Stuff like this is unacceptable. I'm a Manchester City fan, so I obviously don't have to worry, but i still find stuff like this very sad, especially when it's a big club like Bury with a very long history. I never want this to happen to any club, not even Manchester United or Liverpool! I'm happy to see that Bolton have been saved. Hopefully there is still some hope for Bury and no club ever has to be managed poorly and forced to go bust by an owner who doesn't care for football.
Stingy the football association need to do something to stop this kinda stuff happening!!! They need toughen up the owner rule make sure it, they are not there for the money but for the passion of football and the success
Yes this is sad and it shouldn’t have happened but why mention the Manchester Clubs . We have nothing to do with Bury and we aren’t obligated to help them anymore than the London clubs are.

Neil Warnock was Bury's best- ever manager. He got them to The First Division, in the 1990s, and it's sad for Bury, but 15 years ago, in 2005, Bolton Wanderers were in The UEFA Cup, before it was called The Europa League.

Bill Kenwright of Everton was the only person who offered a million to save bury fc but under the FA ruling this cannot happen. Utter heartbreaking. If it wasn’t for bury, Everton’s glory days wouldn’t have been half as good. As they give us arguably one of the best goalkeepers in footballing history.
Sorry to hear about this. I am an Aberdeen FC fan, and would hate this to happen to Aberdeen FC of Scotland.

Really feel for Bury and their supporters. Terrace rivalry’s apart it’s tragic what has happened. As Bolton fans just being on the brink of extinction was horrible enough. Can’t begin to imagine how they’re feeling today and really hope that there is something that can be done to reverse this decision.

This should never happen clubs should be fan-owned we're truly the only ones who love the club. Players and manager come and go. Most owners are in it for themselves not what's best for the club.
Football clubs are businesses like any other , more money coming in than going out it's a success more going out than coming in its a failure . I understand the supporters distress but life goes on , the question to ask is why was the club allowed to run up £ 9 million worth of debt before anyone said enough . No business has the right to be kept afloat no matter what , I feel sympathy for the supporters and staff but I think this could be just the first of many .

It’s not the responsibility of the big clubs to help clubs like bury and Bolton
English clubs should be run like German where it's by the fans for the fans. No ridiculous pricing and it's run for the game. Money has destroyed football, the very top are prospering but the lower league clubs are being destroyed. Half the parachute payments are taken by owners and never reinvested back into the clubs.

What an absolute disgrace this whole saga is , what happened to the football family?. How can it possibly be right that teams in the so called "premier league" have the money to pay a load of puffs per week more than most people will earn in a life time , to roll on the floor screaming when the wind is blowing and then blame the ref when they lose , and then let a grand old club like this go under?. Things like this were always on the cards when the big clubs pulled up the ladder from the rest of football .Its called " the pyramid" for a reason! .
Unfortunately for Bury there has to be rules, regulations and structures governing organisations like this.
